JP Langlands Photography

JP is a wonderful wedding photographer! My husband and I hired him to shoot our May 2013 wedding on Cape Cod. He was flexible, professional, and friendly to deal with — we would have given him an excellent review based on his demeanor alone. His enthusiasm and laid back attitude made me feel very comfortable from the beginning. Even our family and friends commented on what a great guy he was.
We just got our photos recently and I feel even better about choosing JP for our important day. He captured so many wonderful photos, I honestly can’t understand how he was physically able to do so much in one day! He went above and beyond the time and work product he’d promised us. I feel as though we got an excellent value for our money, and I’d recommend him to anyone looking for a quality and trustworthy photographer.

JP was our wedding photographer for our wedding in August and he was absolutely awesome. We had issues with another photographer and we contacted JP very last minute. He dropped everything and was there for us on our big day. He arrived earlier than requested (which was awesome) and still stayed until our pre-​determined time.
JP has a style that I have a hard time putting into words, but it was exactly what we were looking for. His photos have a feeling and give you remembrance of the moment, and it just seems natural. He has such a natural talent for photography, it’s really amazing. His artistry is some of the best I’ve ever seen.
He was prompt with everything, including sending us the photos after the event! We never had to call him for everything, he was always on top of it and there were no gaps in communication.
We highly recommend JP as a photographer for your events, he is amazing!

JP shot our engagement session in the fall, and our wedding in the spring. I can’t speak highly enough of him and his work. I’m a bit of a photography buff, and LOVE looking at photographs, so I really wanted to find someone who was technically superb AND had the style that we were looking for. JP was one of the very few photographers who stood out from the crowd, and he was willing to customize the package to fit our budget. He is highly responsive in communications, conscientious and professional, timely, and also relaxed and easygoing.
During the engagement session, he was great at directing us just enough that we looked natural, but neither lost nor forced. He and his assistant showed up early at the wedding to scout the location, and were very unobtrusive during the event, yet captured a ton of great moments. The pictures turned out even better than we had expected, and we’ve received tons of compliments on them! He did an amazing job at capturing the spontaneity, joy, and emotion of the day in a very warm, natural way that wasn’t overly stylized, which was exactly what we wanted. His turnaround time was also super impressive.
Echoing another reviewer — if I had the money, I would love to have JP document all the great moments of my life!

JP and his assistant spent around 12 hours on location on our wedding day, and really did a fabulous capturing our family, our emotions, and the amazing landscape. We felt very comfortable having JP there, he has a really kind, professional, but also relaxed attitude that fit right in with the mood we were trying to create.
The pictures turned out great, and JP’s turnaround time was really impressive. I highly recommend his work.

JP will be our photographer for our wedding in March 2011. We recently shot our engagement session with JP. I agree with the other reviewer, he was great! He had creative ideas for those posed shots and gave clear directions. He turned over the engagement photos quickly and sent me the link via email and a CD for photos in high resolution via mail. To all those who are debating on which photography vendor, I highly recommend JP :)

JP was awesome. We flew up from Palm Springs area for our engagement photos. JP met us at Oakland A’s stadium and we got to do about 3 hours of photography all over the stadium. After that he took us to a park by Golden Gate bridge and got some unbelievable photos. He was very easy to work with, not just cause he’s a Red Sox fan too, and the pictures couldn’t have been better. Highly reccomend to anyone looking for a great photographer.

While I won’t discus the details of our specific agreement, let’s just leave it at the fact that what we «got» from JP was easily worth 2.5x what we paid.
Stunning pictures. He was everywhere, omnipresent, yet never once made his presence felt or intruded on the proceedings. He caught moments between my wife and I where we thought we were the only two in the room. He was overly flexible, open to our suggestions, and the results were stunning. He uses a photojournalistic approach and really captures the essence of the moment in his work.
If I had the money, I would pay this guy to just follow me around all day everyday taking pictures. I wish my whole life could be documented this beautifully.

The months leading up to our wedding were fun, stressful, you know the drill. When we got to the part of seriously considering photography vendors, we did a decent amount of research on the web, but got a referral from a good friend to visit JP Langlands.

Upon meeting JP at his studio, you could instantly tell he had a flair for his work. We sat down, looked at some of his work from past weddings and photo shoots. The quality of his photos were great. What really got us was his stories behind each picture, his memories of taking the photos of that day. He knows the style he likes to take, the candid shots that are once in a life time moments that the couple could never see from his perspective. Whether it’s a shot of the couple from behind going up a flight of stairs, or something more posed with great angles, he has a great eye for the surroundings.
The day of the wedding was no different. It rained on our wedding, but man was he ecstatic about the lighting possibilities and how awesome the pictures would turn out. He was totally right. Something about the way he captured the environment in our outdoor photos and the lighting made us pop out of the photos.
JP is extremely easy to work with, he gives just enough direction in where he wanted us to stand or positions to be in. When it came to the meat of the ceremony and reception times, I barely saw him, you know he’s there, but you don’t at the same time. It was great! He got so many good shots of my wife and I our families and friends. He was even willing to do a lot of table and posed shots which aren’t always the most artistic, but we felt were a necessity for us to capture since all the weddings we go to we never get a picture with the bride and groom.

We hired JP to shoot our wedding ceremony and reception last year. He did such an amazing job shooting it. While we weren’t up for the standard photos of the reception, he was more than willing to go with our idea to set a photo tent and guests could take portraits at our leisure… he worked well with us and the quality of work he did surpassed our expectations. He’s also done one portrait sitting for our daughter and since her birthday is coming up next month we are heading back to his studio to get her 1 year portrait. He worked well with our daughter and it also helped that she adored JP.

Looking for a wedding photographer was the hardest part about planning a wedding. Your search is over! J. P Langlands was great! Despite the rain on our wedding day, his work was great. Everyone in the wedding kept saying how much they liked him and how easy going he was. He does a great job of mixing the candid and posed photos. We got over 900 photos and I love them all.

JP was my wedding photographer. He was awesome, fun, easy to work with and our pictures ended up perfect. I love them. They captured all the moments I imagined and also all the emotions superbly.
He was reasonably priced for everything that comes in his packages. He is more than happy to accomodate individual packages that include the specific items you want while leaving others out.
He made the whole process very easy and he has a photojournalistic style that was fun yet not too abstract. I highly recommend him for weddings!
