NETC Educational Travel

Traveller beware!
I booked a trip for my daughter, and knowing how indecisive she is, decided to get the «Cancellation Protection» thinking that I would get my deposit back less fees. Well i deposited $ 1000 and got back $ 400! And not in cash, but a voucher! Now if I am this unhappy with their service, why would I need a voucher, its not like I or any of my family and friends will EVER do business with them and have any use for this voucher! The fine print states «Cancel for any reason, at any time and receive a full refund* in cash and an NETC Travel Voucher». The asterisk you see there apparently means we’re gonna take out a hefty amount of fees before we give you you refund in a form of a «voucher».
So if your definitely sure that you will be taking your trip a year from booking and not canceling for any reason other than an illness or job loss, do not do business with these people! Very poor ethics!

This, i’m writing on Unilocal because the main website doesn’t allow you to put negative star when it comes to their rating system! I went to Europe trip with this travel agency and it was from school.
I should have just gone with my parents (since they too went to Europe trip but with different agency) While my parents went to 5 different countries in europe in 10 days with cheaper price, MY agency took me to 3 countries in 10 days giving me «free time.» I paid more than 4000 dollars to go to Europe trip with this company and parents paid as little as 3000 dollars.
Since my agency wanted to save up all those money, they did not let us use tour bus. which is necessary! My feet almost gave up on me while i was suppose to get what i paid at least! They sent me to crappy restaurant, and i couldn’t even try l’escargot which i also think it’s very important when it comes to visiting paris! they gave me almost like a whole day to go shopping spree. and I even had to pay for the meals!
hah. Crappy travel guide too. I didn’t understand half the time because of his heavy heavy accents. and gave me an uncomfortable feeling throughout the whole trip because. YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO LOOK THE OTHER WAY WHEN I CONTACT YOUR EYE IN COINCIDENCE! He kept staring at me for like more than 5 seconds!!! I’m not the only one who got freaked out because of him! And please!!! don’t touch me! when you want to wake me up in the bus, call my name! I’m not a deep sleeper!!! (He woke me up by looking at me for few seconds and rubbing my arm with back of his hand. I was already kinda waking up but he didn’t notice because i was wearing a sunglasses!)
Plus, don’t they have tourist safety guide line? I guess not! In europe, there are many many many many dark alleys!!! Don’t you think it’s a bit dangerous for a young girl with shorts walking around at night without cell phone in dark alleys? Obviously YES! I got literally FOLLOWED by two men in Italy and once in switzerland! One taking pictures behind my back! When i stopped he stopped, when i speed walked, he did too! Which they all sort of ran away when there was a traffic police at the almost end of the alley!!!
Soooo. this is end of MY story. And for my best friend who could have gone with me, This company has this wonderful thing called easy payment. And i’m not saying this itself is bad or anything, BUT they have a system error in their computer and blame it on the customers! YAY! My friend she signed up and decided to pay 600 dollars per month for easy payment method in October. And the last due date for final payment was till middle of March. When she checked how it was going on around february, the money didn’t come out of her mother’s account and thought it was weird and had her teacher called the company. And guess what the company said? You have to pay 3000 something dollars till March (that’s about a month) or else you can’t go. And even if you don’t want to pay that much money we will keep the first 600 dollars you paid at first…
I don’t know what to say anything more about this company. Seriously, i’ve had better experience with other travel agency! I understand it’s all «educational» But too bad i didn’t like it and it’s weird cuz i really don’t give out bad reviews on Unilocal for the sake of their businesses and their family!
