Polka Dog specializes in all-​natural and organic raw, dry and dehydrated dog & cat foods, along with hypoallergenic treats such as duck jerky, chicken poppers, lamb links, ostrich bones, and the largest selection of free-​range and certified USA bully sticks anywhere.

Rounding out the scrumptious offerings are the polkadogbakery’s very own signature hand-​made treats, baked fresh from scratch every day using the finest all-​natural ingredients, with no added salt or preservatives. Birthday cakes are also available.

I’m obsessed with this doggy shop. As a dog owner, it is really difficult to find quality locally made but reasonably priced food and treats. Polkadog Bakery meets all of my doggy’s needs.
My dog is in love with the dried cod skins and dried chicken treats from here. If you bring back the plastic tube container the cod skins are in, you will receive 10% off your next order.
When we came here my dog had high anxiety because we were in a new unfamiliar shop. She wasn’t able to try out any of the treats! So the lady working there made her a sample treat bag. That way I could come back and buy whatever her favorites were. Such great service!
And they even make doggy birthday cakes!

Very cute and shop in south end. Without any prior research I was expecting it to be a full blown bakery, and hoped to possibly buy a custom cake for my dog’s 7th birthday.
Unfortunately, their selection was smaller than what I was expecting. Although I did see about 4 – 5 varieties of prebaked dog treats (including pupcakes!), there were more regular treats than baked goodies. The baked treats were very hard. I have a 7lb Yorkshire terrier and he loved them, but it took him a few minutes of picking at it to finish eating.
On the bright side, the ladies on shift were very nice and helpful even though I wasn’t very needy. I will probably come back for other stuff or treats for a bigger dog.

Hit and miss for my dog though, since he is so picky with his treats! The staff were great though, as they let him try the treats out before purchasing to ensure that he will eat it :)

This shop is adorable and definitely has a wide selection of treats. That said, I do not recommend the chicken kebabs. My dog had been having episodes of loose stools for a while and the one thing that she always ate before that happened were the chicken kebabs. I don’t think that this necessarily reflects negatively on the store, but I felt like I needed to share. She has had some of the cookies that they make in the store and those have not resulted in the same symptoms.

The Chicken Littles are my puppy’s absolute FAVORITE treat! He will do (almost) anything for his chicken littles!!! He also loves munching on the cod sticks. These treats and this place are awesome!

This is a great spot to grab a gift for a puppy in your life.
They have a downstairs full of toys and leashes and collars. The bakery upstairs is where they make tons of treats (which they sell in cute packaging). They have a bunch of glass jars with treats and chewy toys (the fermented yak milk stick lasts forever and the dogs love it). Also lots of fun toys upstairs.
I’ve only ever purchased gifts here but I know they have food and dog-​paw-​friendly salt for the sidewalk, too.
The staff is friendly and nice – they let you squeak and test to your hearts content.

I like there. Normally I feed my sweetheart very healthy or organic hand made food. I found here, I bought some stuff even toy my puppy likes. He likes cod stick much so I will visit again. Even I am coming the after tomorrow to by cod stick from Dubai. Who likes healthy and trustworthy food for your dog, I really recommend this place. Very different compare with normal pet shop.

I had a great experience here today. Usually, I stop by the Lynnfield lcoation due to it being closer to home. I happened to need food and know this is the only place nearby work that sells it. Great store, nice people, easy in and out. Love it.

. Most of the treats she was getting through the sub, she didn’t like, but she has loved everything I ordered from Polka Dog.
Their tiny lucky duck treats are perfect for obedience training. I was able to get her to lay down and sit within two days of getting those treats.
We’ll continue to order from you guys all the way from San Francisco!

As an owner of a dog-​centric business, I find Polka Dog to be my boutique of choice when it comes to food related items. I absolutely love their selection — anything you can possibly need for all breeds and ages. If they don’t have it in store, they’re always happy to order it for you. Their staff has been nothing but friendly and knowledgable to me in the years that I’ve frequented the South End and Jamaica Plain locations. Their baked treats are fabulous, the bones they make and fill are a delight, and they’ve never been shy of taking bulk orders for treats during the holiday season. They always deliver.
There are few places I go and trust with certainty in the Boston area insofar as my dogs food and treats are concerned, and Polka Dog certainly tops my list. I absolutely love them!

I love this place. I’m new to the area, and I’ve only been in once. But my beagle loved it. I think the wide variety of things you can buy for your dog is so cool. You could get dried kangaroo, deer venison, lamb lung, fish, etc. I also can’t buy my dog pigs ears for personal reasons, but I was delighted to find that this place carries cow and lamb ears! I got some lamb lung too while I was there, and even my cats love it! They go crazy when I give it to them. I am convinced this is doggy heaven. I love the natural products and the staff. I definitely will be going back!

This is a great racket, one which I had gotten into first… secure the less-​desirable portions of assorted wildlife (offal, etc.) and mark it up in a pet-​friendly store.

I want to preface this by saying how cute this store is and how nice the people that work there are.
HOWEVER, my dog threw up on several occasions immediately after eating treats from Polka Dog — months apart. I gave him the Cheery-O’s (chicken jerky) and some little duck ones as well, both of which were grain free.
I don’t think it’s a coincidence, nor do I want to give something to my dog that will make him sick — especially something that is supposedly high quality and is priced at a premium. If you do go here, be forewarned and try out one or two pieces before committing to larger quantities.

I live in Southern California, recently my pet store has started stocking the Polka Dog «Cod Skins». My dogs love love love them, when I went back recently they were out and we were upset so we asked the owners to please buy some more and they told us that we were the 5th or 6th person to tell them that just today!
Obviously im not the only one who thinks that Polka Dog is a winner! Love the natural vibe. Polka Dog keep it up!

Polka Dog is great. The staff is super friendly and so tolerant of my kind of hyper dog. We’ve gone there a few times and always had a positive experience. Not only that but I really trust giving their products to my dog. There’s really something to be said for being able to give your dog a treat and knowing it won’t turn their poop green.

He is a fussy eater, who won’t touch a Milk Bone,
or most any other dog bone, BUT… He inhales Polka Dog treats!
DOG TREATS: duck snacks, bully sticks, deer antlers, 5 pound bones, dried pig snouts, and I will let you discover the rest.
STAFF: Obvious dog lovers who make everyone feel like family.
PRICE: Not much higher, if at all, than the inferior, generic treats
sold at chain pet stores. The quality and purity of ingredients is worth it!
THE DEAL: Owners love Mike’s, Modern or Maria’s Pastry Shop.

If your dog is eating from Polka, they sure as hell are living the good life.
Perfectly situated in South End, there is a quaint and adorable place that makes dogs really happy. There are birthday cakes, gigantic bones that are still covered in a little bit of meat, treats of all kinds and even a little section with a showcase of other snacks for your dog. Sure, the prices may be a bit high, but who else can make your day better with a quirky smile while their tongue sticks out?
You will also find unique treats and play things that make typical pet stores seem below average. There are duck snacks, bully sticks (Do you know what that is? You should ask), deer antlers, 5 pound bones, dried pig snouts, and I will let you discover the rest. Also, the staff seems very friendly and because of that, the price is fully justified.
Polka Dog Bakery is a human’s version of Mike’s Pasty or Modern.
Wouldn’t you be thrilled to come home to a box of cannolis?
