Horrible, unpleasant atmosphere. Staff were dismissive. The place was blasting profane rap music at high volume two mornings in a row, which explains why it was empty both times. The songs they played had sexist language, N– words and F bombs, even though there were children present. This is not a nightclub, it’s a coffee shop at 7:30 in the morning, so don’t play that stuff at such unpleasant volumes. I was going to stay and do work, but the music was so loud and unpleasant that I left. This store reflects poorly on the Starbucks brand.

There is nothing special about this location, it is a typical starbucks chain. They have never gotten my order wrong, but there is never anything impressive about the service either. I would recommend using the mobile ordering in the mornings as there is often a line to the door between 8 – 9.

The music is SOOOOLOUD!!! And even after asking two baristas twice to kindly lower the sound, I was ignored. Ridiculous!!! There’s no reason why a Starbucks should sound like a disco…

I love this place and am here practically everyday, sometimes twice a day. What makes this place great is not the coffee but the staff. They are always friendly and helpful. As we all know the people we come into contact on a daily basis can make or break your day– A hello, joke, smile or kind word of encouragement from the staff here have made or saved my day multiple times. Kai the manger always has a smile as do Spencer, Mike, Kevin and Jenae and the rest of the staff. Love them all !!!

Gets better everytime I walk in! I’ve taken to ending my runs at this starbucks joint. Always fabulous service. Tonight I met the manager who asked«why are you sweating?» this continued with a great little chat that included talking about exercise, his grandma, and favorite starbucks drinks.

One star is one too many. Over two years this Starbucks has slipped from just inefficient to inefficient and unhelpful. Better coffee than ABP, but SO slow and served with a healthy side of attitude. Sadly Kai — the manager — has strayed quite far from the Starbucks ethos we grew up with as native Seattle-ites. If you want Starbucks go up to Gov’t Center or down to Charles. If you just want coffee try ABP, Whole Foods or Finagle.

Easily accessible on my morning commute. The renovations have opened up the space. It is very busy in the morning and the line generally moves. The staff are friendly. However, they must be scaling back on flavor since my ice coffee was missing coffee. It was a brown colored ice water

The only reason I’m giving one star is because I couldn’t give zero stars. Well, I guess the Starbucks phone app is worth a star. I have learned that Starbucks in General has become like McDonalds. The only difference is that I actually have better things to say about McDonalds, a place I rarely visit. I used to go to Starbucks religiously and thought it was the best. But, then I went to some other coffee places and my thoughts on Starbucks changed. I order lattes in Starbucks and they usually taste blah. I would rather go to Whole Foods coffee bar or to the Thinking Cup to get a latte. The difference in taste is like night and day. One of my biggest issues with Starbucks is that they have poor training when it comes to cleanliness standards. Today, I ordered a latte from the cambridge st location and the guy at the register grabbed my cup by the mouth where I’m going to be drinking from. His fingernails had some seriously visible dirt under them. Grossed me out. Why is he touching the mouth of my cup? Why not hold it from the bottom? This is actually a common practice at Starbucks with both the cashiers and the ppl making the drinks. Starbucks says that in the training that all of the baristas get, they are specifically told not to handle the cup by the mouth. But, for as many escalations as I’ve gone through at Starbucks, the problem hasn’t gone away. It makes the company look as though they don’t give a crap. SMH. I’m not a cleanliness freak or anything but you guys should know how much stuff can be transmitted by ppl’s hands touching the mouth of your cup(if you choose to drink the drink without drinking from the lid) Starbucks thinks that everyone drinks from the lid. Haha, who wants to drink a latte from a lid??? This particular Starbucks location sucks a$$. It is small, dingy, dark, and cut up into two sections because of a staircase that blocks it from being totally open. Definitely my least favorite Starbucks. The best one around here is the one at Charles and Beacon. The only time I go to Starbucks is if there’s no other choice around. Lately though I’ve been finding myself walking 10 mins to go to Thinking Cup for a MUCH better experience.

Definitely a solid choice in my extensive Starbucks cadre. Nice Beacon Hill location with a convenient layout that’s conducive to long lines while allowing for a separate exit so you don’t have to fight against the caffeine-fiending stream to exit once you’ve obtained your beverage. Nice, updated Starbucks interior with good combo of tables, booths, and a bar with stools facing streetward for good people-watching. Convenient to MGH and the hotels in the area. There’s a parking garage directly across the street if you’re not on foot and don’t want to fight for the crazy street parking. Full selection of Boulange baked goods and all sandwiches, etc. Friendly, efficient staff.

Starbucks is my favorite place for coffee based drinks. This location is very convenient for me as it’s close to Mgh. There are food options nearby and a whole foods across the street. I like this Starbucks because it had a decent amount of seating and it’s not difficult to find a seat. Wifi is free. Service is also pretty efficient. Always happy to come here.

Friendly staff. Unusually efficient. In — Coffee — Out. Clean. I would pick this Starbucks over others in the area…

I think this Starbucks is definitely below the quality of the average Starbucks. It is very poorly laid out. Most of the times I go, it seems like they have not wiped down the bar where the sugars and other spices are. What PEEVES me the most is that ever since they switched to the La Boulange for the sweets, they very often run out of the pecan tarts! If they are selling so fast, they should have MORE! I am trying to be fat — and THEYARE preventing me from being so.

I’ve really enjoyed the fact that I have a Starbucks a block away from where I work at MGH, and the majority of the barristas have been perfectly friendly and made my drinks expeditiously. I’ve had a few uncomfortable interactions actually with the store manager though, ironically enough. She is the only employee I’ve interacted with where I’ve felt like my patronage is an inconvenience and that my drinks are«too complicated,» which she has told me before. That’s not what Starbucks is about.

I don’t typically rate places like Starbucks but I needed a place to conduct meetings without costing the company money. I did it here. they’ve got a lot of seating and the wifi isn’t atrociously slow like it is in Harvard Square. It’s walking distance to MGH and the hotel I was staying at. And they make a good chocolate chai latte.

I’ve lived in places where I would relish the sight of a Starbucks. This is not one of them. With two additional locations right around the block, this space feels wasted when occupied by a half-hearted chain like the Bucks. I appreciate the location’s convenience, but I’d trade up to an independent café in an instant, and pay the extra dollar to boot. You’ve got to give corporate some credit. Whatever concoction of management training techniques they’ve come up with churns the herd right on through, even at the busiest hours. Too bad they can’t work the same magic to make the coffee taste better.

Looks like Unilocal fixed the multiple entries for this location :) This Starbucks is tiny, but the line moves quickly. There was only one morning I can recall that the staff seemed to be overwhelmed by the rush. These people get 5 stars from me because of the complete and utter assholes they have to deal with, and I probably only see 10% of it because I stop in maybe twice a month. Staff members keep a stack of coupons by the register for the entitled idiots that come in and make bizarre demands, so be sure to throw a fit and get yours. Its like some Beacon Hill rite of passage. Recent interactions I have witnessed include: –taking a sip of a venti, 20-pump chai latte and then handing it back because the foam tasted watery, demanding another one be made –spying a staff member topping off a Sumatra with a smidge of Pike’s Place, refusing to drink it, and then throwing a fit when told the Sumatra took about 4 min to brew –handing back a latte, saying«I ordered a no-foam latte? Because I don’t want foam? There’s a difference.»

This is a cute, neighborhood starbucks. The service is really quick and the baristas are all super friendly. I like the horseshoe shape of the store, not only does it make you feel like you are moving faster, but its a lot more cozy than the expansive, prepackaged starbucks you find in other corners of the city. Much more conducive to sipping and reading.

This is a review of another Starbucks location. Unique things about this Cambridge street location include bathrooms that require keys for access and very limited availability of tables. We had iced tea — black which was the same superior quality blend that is served in most Starbucks shops. We also had a raspberry pound cake that was perhaps overly moist and falling apart with an excessively artificial fruit flavor.

As Kim K. notes, this is a standard Starbucks, what with your standard coffee and food fare. It’s not my favorite Starbucks, but it does what it’s supposed to do well(get you coffee quickly). I do have a beef with the random step down in front of the out door(the one that isn’t the main entrance). What’s the point of this step? The main entrance is handicap accessible, so this isn’t related to that. And while there are signs there, it can be easily neglected(as I’ve found out personally). Maybe it’s there because of the way the Starbucks was designed, but why not slope it instead. That avoids the hassle of the signs and all of that. So okay coffee, bad step down thingy.

Standard Starbucks: Crowded, moderately priced, and like crack to those who love it. I, myself, am a tea person. I love all of the flavors, the chais, and the shaken iced tea lemonades. This location has a super friendly staff, gets you in and out quick, and is relatively clean. Nice location too!
