I knew during my first driving lesson that I was truly doomed, but I had paid for a package in advance; I knew I’d never see that money again, so I figured I might as well try to get something out of it. The instructor speaks almost NOENGLISH. I think I understood less than 50% of everything he said, and when I asked him(constantly) to repeat himself he started to get testy and mock me. And I don’t know if it was a vocabulary issue, but he constantly contradicted himself and said things that made no sense. Once, when I came to a fork in the road I asked which way I should go, and he said, «Straight.»(You can’t go straight at a fork, obviously, you have to choose either right or left.) Every lesson was a debacle; it would have been comical if I hadn’t spent $ 300. Without question, the biggest cluster fuck was test day. He made us show up at 7:15AM on a Saturday, but we didn’t leave his office until after 8AM; we just sat there at the crack of dawn for almost an hour waiting for stragglers. There were more than 20 of us, and he apparently never thought about how we would all get to the testing site. When we did get to the site(I caught a ride with some other student’s Mom) there were WAY too many of us there, and the single tester seemed overwhelmed. Approximately half of us never even got to drive; the instructor asked questions about things T-Guide never taught us, and she failed us before we even left curb. Did I mention that he hadn’t arranged transportation home from the testing site? I had to spend $ 20 on a cab. When I told the owner how unhappy I was he blamed everything on the RMV tester; he said she was trying to fail everybody to make the queue move more quickly. I then pointed out that he was the one who brought 20 of us at once, and gave us such shoddy information that she was ABLE to fail us all so quickly. Please, in the name of all that’s holy, get your driving instruction elsewhere!
