Led by two generations of family members, our success, stability and reputation speaks to a company whose vision is informed by both its heart and mind.

The history of Château Retirement Communities in the Puget Sound region begins in the late 1990s when Jim Godfrey began developing Retirement and Assisted Living communities. Many years later, in 2014, nearly 400 residents live in three modern and convenient facilities. From its early days, the company has grown to include almost 200 employees, who are dedicated to caring and community.

Jim Godfrey immigrated to the United States from Canada in pursuit of the American dream. He and his wife Gerry had four children — two boys and two girls, three of them adopted from Canada and Korea. As a Canadian, he saw the United States as a place of new beginnings, as so many others saw it over the years. He wanted to serve the people who built the United States, pioneers and children of pioneers who went through tough times and overcame every type of adversity along the way.
