Old carpeting with stains, décor from the 1980’s and an elevator that can’t possibly be up to code. The current manager, Denise, is rude and nasty to all the residents (except for her favorites, they get special treatment and whatever they want.)
Instead of making these people in their 80’s and 90’s feel happy and welcome in what are probably their last days, the leasing manager is mean-​spirited, vengeful and short tempered. She is obviously a very unhappy woman who hates her job. She will look you right in the face and lie to you.
The residents are told there is no money to fix or replace anything in their apartments, but the parent company, Guardian Real Estate out of Oregon, bought Denise a brand new big refrigerator for HER apartment. Last year, a brand new 65“TV /​fireplace appeared in the common area… that no one ever watches. But they won’t replace anything in any of the units because «there’s no money.»
No dishwashers in the units, a tiny oven/​stove, old refrigerators and the washer/​dryers on each floor are coin operated. These people are all low income tenants who have trouble buying groceries. These blood-​suckers at Guardian make them pay to do laundry. How do they sleep at night?
They are building a brand new SHAG building next year in Bothell. SHAG has their issues too, but at least the apts will be brand new and hopefully will have a property manager who actually cares about the tenants and the property. If you’re looking for senior apartments in Bothell, wait until those are built and rent there instead.
