Specialties
It is our pleasure to serve you the finest pancakes available anywhere. We strive to create and environment that offers a clean, friendly atmosphere with quality food and consistently good service. We choose to cook everything to order and offer unique menu items that take longer than the industry standard: products such as our oven baked Apple Pancake, Dutch Baby, and soufflé style omelettes.
History
Established in 1953.
The Original Pancake House was founded in 1953 by Les Highet and Erma Hueneke in Portland, Oregon. Drawing upon their many years experience in the culinary field and their comprehensive working knowledge of authentic national and ethnic pancake recipes, they were able to offer without compromise its unique and original menu which has gained national acclaim and remains unchanged to this day.
Meet the Business Owner
Ken N.
Business Owner
After growing up in Portland, Oregon, where The Original Pancake House was started, and working alongside the founders at the first location, Ken decided to open his own pancake house in Kirkland, WA. He now owns and operates three locations in the Seattle metro area. He is a very involved owner and always makes an effort to know all of his employees. He is happy to jump in when needed, whether it is in the kitchen on a busy weekend or on the floor when someone needs a refill on coffee. A benefit of putting time in at The «original» Original Pancake House is that he knows exactly how the food and service are best executed. On the rare occasion he is able to take a break from his duties, you can find him skiing on the various beautiful mountains that the PNW offers.
