15th Street Gallery has been one of Boulder, Colorado’s top art galleries for over 30 years. In addition to their high-​end contemporary art gallery, they provide custom art framing and art preservation services designed to meet the strict standards of museums, artists and art collectors alike.

History

Established in 1984.

Since opening 30 years ago, the studio has evolved into a contemporary art gallery. In the beginning, it was solely an art framing service to museums, galleries and collectors. The gallery now represents museum-​track artists from places like New York, Boston, San Francisco and Hawaii; 15th Street still provides art framing.

The business has a long track record of supporting art-​related non-​profit organizations and was honored as the «2011 Corporation of the Year» by the Boulder County AIDS project. In 2009, the gallery underwrote in-​part an important exhibition, «The Legend of Bud Shark and his Indelible Ink,» at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Denver.

Additionally, a number of gallery exhibitions hosted by 15th Street Gallery have been given the distinction of «Pick of the Day» by The Boulder Daily Camera. These art openings include: «California Contemporary» (2013); «Asian Influences» (2011); «The Woodcut Print» (2009); «Contempo Rythms of India» (2008); «Japan on Paper» (2005).

Co-​curates art exhibitions at 15th Street Gallery; Invites new artists to join the gallery; Has served as co-​chair of the art acquisitions committee for the first 3 art auctions of the Boulder County AIDS project. Also was a member of the jury to select art exhibitions for the Boulder Public Library. Also enjoys spending time with Scottie, his schnauzer and gallery puppy.

I came to this gallery and «museum» of sorts at both the beginning and working process of the 3d paper and sculpture show and I’d have to say all the works are phenomenal. It’s not every day that you see such modern contemporary artwork from even elders with such pristine foundation and complex, beautiful backgrounds. Rob was extremely conversational with innate details about many if not all of the pieces and was even privy to new interpretations by me and obviously many others who have already stepped foot into the gallery. If you get a chance, ask about the piece «Arizona» and see what you can learn that day; They keep older works around that are not included in the show for appreciation as well! Albeit pricey, it’s said all framing is done in house, and they seem to have time to communicate a lot WHILE working so enjoy your time.

Was in boulder on business. Saw an ad for an art opening and went. What a cool gallery. The art was museum art. I bought a painting. Couldn’t resist. Highly recommend this gallery. The craftsmanship and attention to detail on the framing was outstanding.

The most amazing and best art framers ever!
They gave us lots of time, never rushing us even though there was someone waiting. In fact one gentleman said «this is your time. Don’t rush. Let’s get it right.» They explained design concepts in a clear way that we have never experienced before. All these guys made us feel so comfortable. We had fun and learned a lot. This just doesn’t happen at other framing places. And the frame on our painting is perfect. Can we give them six stars? I really wish we could. Thank you, guys. Highly recommend for framing.

Finally an art gallery in Boulder with really cool contemporary art! And the guys in the gallery are incredibly informed about art and are very welcoming. They even offer to frame your art and do it all in house. I will definitely be back and bring some of my artist friends as well.

Ah the Art World. I went to 15th street to have an older painting framed and was BLOWN AWAY by the quality. They turned my old painting into a modern work of art. They did a tremendous job for a rather modest price.
I was also pleasantly surprised by the quality of art work they have on display. I did not realize they were also an art gallery.
This is THE PLACE to go to if you are looking for high quality art or framing.

This a framing and art gallery that I have used 2 – 3 times a year for over 5 years. Until recently, the service has been extraordinary and helpful, and the relationship friendly, engaging and cordial. Now, they say that their emphasis is on the sales of art rather than on framing. And, their attitude reflects it. The last 2 times I’ve gone in the service has been surly and indifferent, and on the last occasion I was especially taken aback by the outright rudeness of one of the owners which was followed by an email that was almost equally gruff and irritable. We have certainly had a parting of the ways.
