These guys saved my ski day, when I had a big leak in a tire. I called around 5 PM, and they close at 5:30, but they said come on down. They stayed late to fix my tire. They would not even charge me, said that I would buy tires from them next time, which I will. I always heard that these guys were good; they have been in Boulder for 30 years or so.

I used this company to sell my 1998 Toyota Tacoma with a rebuilt engine and all kinds of upgrades and they just didn’t do what was necessary to sell it. They sell tires and also have a used car lot. After paying this guy $ 500 to sell it, they had it on the lot for 4 months and only had 2 offers not even close to a fair asking price. I chose them because of being on a very visible intersection at Pearl and Folsom Streets in Boulder. I never got any money back after picking up the truck being totally dissatisfied with the service. Never use these people to sell a vehicle, you’re better off on Craig’s List.

This place is amazing. Had a flat tire while on vacation and they got me in and out quick. They were incredibly nice and gave me a great deal. I can’t say enough great things about this place.

We took our car in to have a bunch of crap removed from 2 tires. When the hubs went to pick up the car he was told that it was on the house as we will need tires in about 5−8k miles. She just said, «think of us when it’s time to get new tires». I’d be happy to hand money to these guys for our next set of tires. They rock!

I was disconsolate when The Tire Source closed up for good. So… I turned to Unilocal for help! After reading the reviews I decided Barnsley was «close enough.» My gut was not wrong. I called ordered tires (with a bit of gentle feedback). I had to wait 2+ weeks for an appointment, but that’s a good sign (right?). Came in, they had me in the book, got me in and out on time, charged me $ 8 less than quoted, and while I was there I heard several customers rave to others about how they haven’t bought tires anywhere else in decades. Plus they helped out a woman who’d made an appointment but didn’t order snow tires. They found a tire for her that they could get the same day, and squeezed (squoze?) her in later that day.
Yup — I’ll be coming back here for decades to come…
P. S. I’ll also put a good word in for Espressoria — just down the street (comfortable walking distance). A perfect place to wait while you get your tire needs cared for.

I was traveling from the Aspen valley to Boulder to visit my sister when I hit a huge 4×4 piece of wood that was in the middle of I-​70. I got the spare tire put on and the next morning went to Big O tires (I use them in Basalt) and assumed they’d help me out. The manager was nice but wouldn’t sell me one tire, and said he could only sell me a whole set. It’s October and I have to buy new snow tires in like a month, so that was not going to happen. He referred me to Barnsley Tires, and they are AMAZING! They helped me immediately, were extremely professional, and were able to put on (free of charge!) a used tire. They totally bailed me out of a really bad situation and I HIGHLY recommend them for all your tire needs. Thank you thank you thank you!

These guys answered the phone in a very reasonable time and squeezed me in at the last minute before they closed. They balanced my tires after I had a tired repaired on my trip in from NOLA. They put me on the road back home very quickly. Despite the fact that they were busy and going to close soon, they were courteous and understood intuitively what I needed and did it for the most reasonable price possible. I highly recommend.

Visited Barnsley for first time while visiting my son at CU this summer. His car needed some tire work. We’ll be back again, again and again! They treated us like neighbors. Do yourself a favor and go here first for all your tire needs in Boulder.

My family has been using This company for years (probably decades, actually!) and their services are always top notch. Their prices are fair, and the office staff always takes the time to research and find the best tire for your needs. They might not have the absolute lowest prices in town, but you can be assured that you always get a quality product and trusted installation. Make your appointment early during the busy snow tire season, because their appointments fill up quickly. I’ve never heard of anyone I know, having a bad experience with these guys…

I know Barnsley Tire is highly praised for its prompt service if you need to change or repair tires, but you don’t want to let them do the alignment. Our car was aligned in the wrong way at first time on Feb. We noticed the problem when we checked our previous alignment record at a dealer shop. I brought the car back to the store on Mar., and they did it again. Since then, our car started to slightly pull to the right. We have to hold the steering wheel carefully when we drive. To avoid ruining our new tires, we paid another $ 100 at a dealer shop to do alignment again, and then the problem is solved.

Barnsley is awesome! The employees are extremely friendly, no nonsense, and get the job done! I went in to get a flat fixed and they weren’t able to patch it but they gave me a used tire in good condition and put it on my car all without charging me. Obviously these guys know how to get life-​time customers, as many reviews say the same thing. I pretty much left in disbelief because my experience was so rad. I will for sure be back with any issues in the future.

They got me right in to fix my flat tire. Unfortunately it couldn’t be fixed, but they gave me a free used replacement and didn’t charge me a cent! Will be going back to them ASAP to switch to my summer tires. Great service!

Very friendly and helpful people, unless you’re calling them.
They have the absolute WORST phone service– long, long, long hold times and that’s if you can even get through in the first place. Extremely irritating.

I can’t believe how many people have given these guys 4 and 5 stars.
I had a not so great experience here when I took my car in for an alignment in May of ’13, on the recommendation of Unilocalers and my mechanics.
Well, the guy who looked at my car said it shouldn’t be aligned yet because it needed new front brakes, new struts/​shocks all the way around, new rotors for the front or get them turned (ground down to even them out) and one CV joint replaced on the front left first. I had them give me a written quote, because I was sure all that wasn’t necessary. I asked to be shown the proof. The owner, or manager of the front, took me back and had the guy who looked at my car show me everything he claimed I needed, except I wasn’t convinced of any of it. They hadn’t taken it for a drive, so how would they know I needed struts? I never have bouncing after going over bumps! No brake squealing, no unevenness while driving or wobbling, etc. So, I said I wanted a second opinion because all that was just unbelievable and far more money than I could afford. Not to mention they said it would take a week or two to get the CV joint. Really, a week or two? Heck, my mechanics didn’t mention any of the other things, and I had just had there the week before for an oil change. Also, I’ve had CV joints replaced before (though not on this Jetta) and it never took that long to get them.
So, I went back to my regular VW guys whom I’ve been using for 6 years and absolutely trust. They put it up on their rack to reinspect everything. They said most of that quote was total B.S. They found the small crack in the CV joint boot, but said it probably could easily be replaced for far less than what Barnsley was trying to swindle me out of. They said it likely didn’t need a whole CV joint replacement, likely just the boot, considering how small the crack was and that it wasn’t there when they did they oil change and inspection the week before. And my brakes, struts and rotors where just fine. We even went for a drive to make sure. Yep, they were fine.
Then my mechanics said they couldn’t believe I was told all that by the guys at Barnsley. I showed them the written quote, and they were dumb founded, since this is where they send all their customers for alignments.
I didn’t let Barnsley align it after all that B.S. I took it to 5^th Gear Auto in Broomfield and got it realigned for $ 20 less than what Barnsley wanted to charge me. This makes me wonder why there are all these glowing reports and no bad ones show up here. Maybe others around here are not as knowledgable about their cars as I am of mine and they get fleeced without knowing it?

Well, let’s say that when I dropped about $ 5K on a big ass service on my 7yo buggy back in September (admittedly first real money I’d spend since I bought her), I wasn’t really in the mood to stretch for a new set of shoes as well. Turns out I didn’t go up the mountains once this season, which is just as well being that the tires were basically shot to the point of being illegal. Decided around noon today I’d look into getting new tires, expecting it might take a while (days, a week?) being that it’s not a super common tire size, did a bit of research online, and turns out that Barnsley was all of two blocks from my house.
You’ve read all the other reviews. This is the best experience you’re ever going to have in anything car-​related your whole life. Went in, got Mr. Barnsley himself I believe, he went out and took a look at the buggy, tossed out a few options, recommended a set that I’d been thinking about (cheaper than I’d seen advertised at the major chains), jumped immediately on the phone to the warehouse to see if they could be put on the 2pm delivery (this is about 1.45pm), told me to leave the keys, and the car was set at 4pm. Walked over to pick up, and Mr. Barnsley came out and did a bit of an inspect, chatted to me about the characteristics of these particular tires and why they were such a bargain, quick tangent about winter tires and when I might want to do that, and then I was on my way.
Again, best car-​related experience I’ve ever had. Highly, highly recommended. These people are the epitome of the how a business should be run, and personify everything excellent about Boulder.

At the end of a long day the last thing you want to hear is «you need to replace all of your tires immediately, like right now» by your mechanic. Needless to say it was too late in the day to go searching for a tire shop so I retired home to do a thorough Unilocal investigation — and I’m so glad that I did.
This morning I reported to the Barnsley right at opening time (8am) and was greeted by several staff in and outside the establishment (wow this place is already as good as the other Unilocaler’s have proclaimed). After looking at the tires with a staff member I was promptly provided with a few choices in tires. I felt the staff were very honest regarding their recommendations and I gave them the go ahead to order my tires of choice.
I am extremely pleased with their service thus far. I just went in this morning and my new tires are set to arrive today and be on the car before I get out of work. Couldn’t be more pleased.

I’ve been to Barnsley several times now to purchase new tires & get winter tires put on and removed. They are always friendly, do the work on time and on top of all that, they seem to be cheap as well.
Then… yesterday I had new tires put on my car. This morning I noticed some scratches on my car that weren’t there before. The only place I had been yesterday was there & work. So I was almost positive it happened there.
I went back today and spoke to the owner about it. And true to form, they totally took care of it. There was no defensiveness or trying to deny responsibility. He immediately called a local body shop and told me to go over there. I went and they buffed out the scratches at no charge.
That’s what a call great service and a business that you can trust!

Barnsley put on 4 new tires about 2 years ago on my car. I have an electronic detector that tells me if air pressure is low. It goes off, I fill tires with air and 2 days later it goes off again.
I drive over to Barnsley and it is clearly busy, I tell the guy at counter situation, he says leave I’ll have a look but it will be about 45 minutes. No worries, i’ll leave you car come back in 2 hours.
I return and sure enough they found a nail in the tire. Guy says we patched it up it’s good as new. Hands me key. I say what do I owe you, he says it’s our pleasure to serve our customers and thanks me for coming to Barnsley. What more can I say than good customer service is still alive and well at Barnsley.
