Boulder Chill Frozen Yogurt

I feel very loyal to this yogurt shop. I’m basically addicted to Froyo, and this is seriously the best shop in town, by far. Flavors are great and he consistency is perfect. The owner is really friendly, I’ve never had a bad experience.

I have visited this place for years. Doug, the owner, prides himself on 1^st class customer service. Doug knows the name of all of his regulars, and over time wins the first timers over to become regulars. This is because of the great product served and the first class service. Doug is never to busy to have a conversation, or to just listen. He’s like the old time bartender, just peddling a healthier product. Doug has been a local small business owner for 25 years and that is because he treats everyone right. Doug takes great care of the shop and cleanliness is a high priority of his. He may have crumbs on the table at times, but that is only because of the business he does and he’s a one man band. I highly recommend this place. I came in for the yogurt years ago, but I keep coming back for Doug.
By the way, he’s a low-​carb nut, so if that’s your fix, he’s got the best prices on Quest products anywhere.

Creamy, Cold, Comfort. This place is delicious. I love it. Best in town. If you are trying to make a loved one happy, come here. And if your into nutrition, this store has tons of information to help you transform your day.

This place is not clean– the counters were sticky, there was not a single clean table to sit at, and the guy behind the counter wasn’t wearing gloves while he handled money and then immediately touched all of our ice cream cones.
The ice cream here is cheap Blue Bell brand, served in huge vats in unnatural colors. They have «Boulder» in their name and they serve this as their choice of ice cream? When there are so many amazing local homemade ice cream companies? Why would I pay so much for the kind of ice cream I can get in the grocery store for so much cheaper… If I go out for ice cream, I would hope it’s made with real sugar in lieu of artificial sweeteners, but not here.
Don’t waste your money. Go to Sweet Cow or Glaciers where you get nice local kids scooping freshly made ice cream in delicious and inventive flavors! Boulder Chill is a joke.

The ice cream is fine but the guy behind the counter was obnoxious, rude and unprofessional. Apparently he is a huge K-​State fan (see all the purple, people?) and when I mentioned I went to a rival school he started a steady stream of insults – really childish stuff. I have a good sense of humor, and there’s no harm in kidding around, but this was over the line. He was still prattling on as I walked out the door.

Yum. Their Euro Tart frozen yogurt is amazing! I’ve never had this anywhere else and I stop in for a cone or shake whenever I’m near the Chill. My kids love their Cookies and Cream yogurt. The owner is friendly and remembers us when we come in. Love the small town atmosphere! Something special about this place!

I went to this place because I thought Ripple was too pricey… big mistake! They do not have self serve, they charge 82 cents per measly topping and the frozen yogurt comes in regular shaped cups so they only place a tiny sprinkle of each topping on the top. Also the raspberry flavor I got was just not good. I will stick with Ripple as they have tons of choices and great flavors for the same price and I get to choose exactly what I want.

Love this shop, the owner always makes us feel welcome and the cookies and cream frozen yogurt is awesome.
They also sell Quest Protein products and we make sure to always get our boxes of mix and match Quest bars here, best price you will find online or in a store!

Thought long and hard about this review before posting. The guy behind the counter made a slightly rude comment and when I called him on it, he wouldn’t let it go. I told him to «stop talking» as his apology was only making the insulting remark worse, but he kept at it, digging himself deeper. That being said, the ice cream and smoothie were only so-​so. Average number of favors, and a bit over priced. The taste was ok. I’ve given 3 stars because it wasn’t awful and realize that the taste of the ice cream may have been over shadowed by the bad taste in my mouth from the fool behind the counter!

This is my favorite frozen yogurt place; here’s why.
First, the flavors are great. There are fat free, sugar free, and carbohydrate free options; they all taste amazing. Not only are they all delicious, but the prices are entirely reasonable.
Second, Doug (the owner) is a great person. He instantiates what it is to be a kind, friendly local business owner. Since my wife and I moved here 2 years ago, Doug has made us feel at home. My wife and I were feeling lonely over the holidays after moving out here, for example, and Doug surprised us with a scented candle as a present, just as a friendly gesture (and not knowing about our homesickness); I wish all business owners were so sweet and welcoming.
Overall, this is our favorite dessert place in Boulder. First, the treats are phenomenal. You won’t do better anywhere else. But most importantly, this is a paradigm example of a local and friendly business. I’ve always felt at home here, and I’m sure that you will too. Keep it local, keep it delicious, and visit the Boulder Chill!

We found this great little yogurt shop when we first moved to Boulder. Unlike the self serve shops, this shop always has chocolate and it tastes better than any others nearby. Plus, we’ve never run into the problems of the machines not working like every other place we tried.
Locally owned and operated, we are usually greeted by the owner. He remembers our «usual» and always has something fun to talk about.
When we moved to Longmont, we still drive to his shop in Boulder; its that good. I’ve been eating frozen yogurt for 30 years now. I bring all my guests from outbid town here and they agree, it’s the best!

A great stop in Boulder! An outstanding ice cream and frozen yogurt shop, great combination of options and tremendous customer service. So much to pick from, and the prices are superb. The key to this place is their owner, Doug, who has a great personality & also treats his customers with respect and a positive way. Impossible not to like this place. Location is ideal, just a few blocks north of the CU campus and within walking distance of Boulder Marriott and the 29^th Street Mall.

we drive from Erie Colorado just to get our Carbolite fix. Quality is fabulous. The machines are clean and food is never touched by customers.

My wife made plans for a family outing to meet a friend on a Saturday around 11 AM. (Nov. 8, 2014) Boulder Chill’s website said it opened at 11 AM, so we planned to meet there. We were happy to find a place like this open before noon. Or so we thought. The place was not open. And as Sara M. noted, the hours are not even posted on the door or window. (Or I didn’t see them.)
If Boulder Chill cannot even post accurate hours on its website, or hire people who show up on time, I’m not too confident about the quality of service & frozen yogurt.
