Boulder Modern Dentistry

Felt more like a used car dealership than a dentist’s office.
After quickly looking at my teeth, the benefits manager came in and quoted me $ 600 for laser treatment and irrigation that they claimed I needed for my serious gum disease.
When I opted to omit the laser cleaning, a technology that they explained poorly and is not approved by the American academy of periodontistry, I was pressured and told that the results of the cleaning would not be «very good.» The receptionist even flipped the screen around toward the waiting room to show me and everyone else in the waiting room that my gums were in bad shape and really needed laser therapy.
It’s frustrating to feel like you are getting a below average treatment because you aren’t willing to shell out $ 600 for a routine teeth cleaning.
I will say that after dealing with the pushy office staff, my dental hygienist was very kind and professional. For that they earned one star, but I will not be coming back.

My initial cleaning and in-​take experience here was good — but my experience with getting an on-​lay and now needing it to be replaced has changed my opinion. To get the on-​lay to fit right they take an impression of your tooth and run it through a machine — which was supposed to be super high-​tech and spot-​on. It took the machine 3 tries to get it right, it was a long process, and never felt 100% perfect, but I lived with it.
NOW I have been to a new dentist and I have permanent damage to my tooth and will need to have major dental work done.

The folks at Boulder Modern Dentistry are just absolutely fantastic. After hearing I was going to lose my insurance that day, I called around to see if anyone could fit me in for a general checkup, and Dr. Wolff was more than happy to fit me in. I ended up spending a good chunk of the day there, and I couldn’t have found a better dentist to end up at.
Since it was Halloween, everyone was dressed up and having fun, the office was bright and clean, and Josh, Jessie and Dr. Wolff made me feel so comfortable during my visit.
I’m absolutely planning on making Dr. Wolff my regular dentist, and I can’t recommend him and the office more highly.

To update: I decided to give this dentist a second chance. They certainly lost my business for good. I made them aware ahead of time that I only had one hour to be there and they assured me that was more than enough time.
I get there and get put in a room, a lady comes back and says well if you need to leave in an hour then I will need to polish your teeth first because the hygienist that cleans the teeth won’t be ready for another 30 min? Weird but I complied. Lady was very rude, kept getting water all over my face and never dried me off.
After the cleaning I was told she had to put me in a different (identical) room to wait for the dentist to do the exam so she could move on to the next patient. What?!
I waited in this new room for 30 min just to see the dentist and he never came!!! I finally found the hygienist and she confirmed that he would prob be another 30 min. I had to leave since I was already there for 75 min.
So upset that they run so slow, the staff is rude, and they don’t seem to schedule cleanings during times the dentist is actually available to do an exam. Very incompetent.

Got my teeths cleaned here recently and was surprised by how nice this place was. We’d driven by it a million times (I think it used to be a tattoo parlor), and it hadn’t struck me to try it out until I realized I was overdue for my annual.
The hygienist was really sweet and gentle, and Dr. Bill was pretty awesome. He was so friendly and curious about getting to know me that it almost triggered paranoia. WHO IS THAT FRIENDLY?! Seriously, have you ever had a dentist that sits you down to chat and learn about your life?
Anyhow, everyone was super friendly, and Dr. Bill was very thorough and helpful and offered me some additional information that I didn’t know to solicit. I guess I found my dentist!

If it weren’t for the stupid guy receptionist I would really like this place. I went in for my second visit for a cleaning and was told that the hygienist was not in that day. First of all, why would you schedule an appointment for a cleaning if the hygienist is not in that day.
On my first visit he made a mistake writing down on the reminder card, he put down the wrong day. I’m a busy business professional so my time is very tight and having to reschedule is a major problem and hassle.
If you don’t mind having to deal with idiots at the front desk then this will be a place for you. The dentist are great and very professional, too bad they can’t tell that the receptionist should be working at good will.

I was a little nervous due to mixed reviews. Everything was very clear as far as treatment plan and treatment goes. Good team and very good work.

I came to this dentist office after having a TERRIBLE experience at Comfort Dental, who said I had two cavities. Using my gut feelings, I looked for another dentist and ended up here.
The appointment request process was easy online. They even had me fill out paper work online to speed up the process when I got there. I got a call AND an email confirmation for my appointment, which I appreciated!
The office was very clean, and they used a lot of great technology. I could see my x-​rays instantly, and had no cavities.
Dr. Bill is AWESOME! And if you can, request him, he has lots of stories to share and shows genuine interest in your life (and teeth)!
Bottom line: Great experience at the dentist!!! Competent and friendly staff! The only complaint I have is that it took me a little longer than I expected to go through my cleaning, so I knocked off one star.

Beware patients, as you first walk in they are nice and accomidating. But then they failed to follow up on my problem, their billing manager did not submit my claim to the insurance. I was supposed to come back for problem visit but dentist just forgot to check on that with my insurance company and previous dentist. Poor poor care. I had my insurance pay for xrays but when I called to see if I can obtain copies of those x-​rays to take to endodontist they said there is $ 20 charge (for emailing those to the other doc).
SHINY ON OUTSIDE — ROTTEN INSIDE.

I CANNOT possibly say enough great things about this office and its people. Professional and caring with helping my daughter get oral surgery scheduled and taken care of. I live out of state and found this place on Unilocal. They assisted us in every way from setting up financing, to aftercare. They really care and that is hard to find in this day and age. I would highly recommend them to anyone shopping for a great family dentistry. Thanks Jesse and Crystal– big shout out. You are very kind.

I was referred to BMD after a co-worker’s husband suggested I check it out. I’d say this was an average experience at the dentist (but really, what IS a pleasant experience at the dentist when you’re no longer visiting a children’s dentistry practice? lol). I was very impressed by the X-​Ray technology; it was cool to see all the nooks and crannies of my mouth. Dr. Bill was also a very nice guy and knows his teeth.
I knocked off two stars on this review. I knocked off the fifth star because I was not impressed on being pushed into the laser treatment (that my insurance doesn’t cover). I got the impression like the staff just wanted another $ 70 commission in their pocket, rather than being compassionate for the health of my mouth (and I didn’t find the treatment to be effective). I knocked off the fourth star because I was in there for two and a half hours. For a teeth cleaning. Listen, I only expect to be in the chair longer than 45 minutes if my mouth is as dirty as a homeless meth head straight outta’ Compton. Even in a case like that, a teeth cleaning that intense should only take 90 minutes, tops). If I brush my teeth twice a day, floss once a day, use an electric toothbrush, don’t smoke, and the X-​Rays show no cavities in my mouth, I just want to get in and get out so I can go on with my day.
Overall, they were OK. I liked Dr. Bill, and Amber did a good job cleaning my teeth. Maybe I just came in when they were having a case of the Mondays. Hopefully the next time will go more smoothly, and faster than a turtle race.

Boulder Modern Dentistry was a relatively positive dental experience – as dentists go. I came in for a routine cleaning, they found a cavity, and were able to treat it right away – no need to set up another appointment and then agonize over an eventual filling. They also were sensitive and helpful because of my current state (pregnant) and opted out of xrays and Novocaine. Instead they recommended a safer alternative. The front desk staff was very helpful determining what my best financial course of action would be considering my less than spectacular dental insurance. All in all I felt well taken care of, and I definitely plan to return to Boulder Modern Dentistry for future dental needs.

Choose to book an appointment based on the great reviews from Unilocal,but never even made it to the office… The woman scheduling was extremely rude and when I asked if I could get a cleaning without x-​rays, she quickly said no and hung up. Very odd, very unfriendly. I’m going to keep looking…

When you first drive up to Boulder Modern Dentistry it may seem like your average «run of the mill» strip mall Dentistry like Comfort Dental or Bright Now Dental. But when you open the door and take that first step you realize this place is something special.
I am all about the ambiance of a place and Boulder Modern Dentistry did not disappoint. The waiting room is simple but very inviting and the front office personnel where very happy and nice. You are treated like a a true big wig client of their’s, not like you are patient number 36 for that day. They do push you to make a review on Unilocal, but with service like I experienced in this office I am more than happy to oblige. Doctor Bill was Awesome, he is a cool cat from the 70’s that likes his classic rock in the back ground and has a certain swagger about him. He was very professional and enjoys educating you on what they will be performing that day. My visit was quick, their equipment was state of the art. X-​rays were a walk in the park with their digital outfit.
I have never been to a dentist office quite like Boulder Modern Dentistry. They have a client for life, and it would be a wise choice to make them your go to people for all your dental needs.

Very modern & high tech office, making the whole process seem effortless… from the efficient online check in before your appointment, to comfortable new age bite-​wings, & a whole head scanner that xrays all your teeth at one time. Crystal was a great hygienist & clearly very experienced. Dr. Bill was very personable, & the front desk welcoming & friendly. I felt lucky to find this place from a Groupon deal, since I have no health care, & Jessie took the time to explain my budgetary options, should I choose further treatment, which all seemed very reasonable to one w/​o much $$. All in all, a very pleasant experience & I look forward to going back :)

Dr. Bill and Summer were so kind and welcoming. Their office space is sleek and high-​tech. I felt more like I was getting a hair cut than the «dreaded» teeth-​cleaning.

I had a great visit at Boulder Modern Dentistry and would recommend it to anyone who needs effective, modern dental care. The check-​in was a breeze and Summer made the usually arduous x-​rays seem like a walk in the park.
Dr. Bill was very friendly and made my visit and cleaning very enjoyable.
The office also had the latest and greatest dental machinery and equipment, so I know that I was getting the best the industry has to offer.

I’ve been to a few dentists in my life, unfortunately, and haven’t really found any that I would stick with. Either too expensive, went out of business, bad magazines. But Boulder Modern Dentistry could be the one that I can stick with.
Very handy online check-​in and history forms, so you don’t have to be there 30 min early on your first visit. The staff is really nice and helps explain anything and everything. Dr. Bill is awesome and he apparently likes awesome music because the place was playing great tunes!
My next appointment will be with you guys! Excellent.
Oh, and the $ 39 new patient is worth checking out. My last dentist charged me $ 150 for the very same thing when I was new… grrrrrrr

I love their easy and intuitive computerized check-​in process, first of all.
The office is super clean, the music selection is on point and the equipment is fresh and new!
My dentist was Dr. Rochelle, and she was as nice as could be – very concerned about my comfort level. She was laid-​back, amiable conversation, all of that. And she worked quickly! Which was great for me because I like to get in and out of there without any extra waiting. Most importantly, the cleaning was thorough. Felt like I had a brand new set of teeth.
Clean, quick and painless! Great office.
