I’m clearly not important enough for Sara T/​John to respond to me. No worries– I’m enjoying watching their rating plummet with continued bad reviews. I’ll be sure to bring my new truck by for the water cooler gang to check out.
Toyota, how are you possibly okay with this? Don’t you realize you’d be selling more cars if this dealership wasn’t dragging your name through the mud with ridiculously poor service?

Bought a used car at the end of December with plans to buy a second for my girlfriend. Car was off the front lot.
After getting to know the vehicle over the next few days there were some very pricey problems with the vehicle. They were generous in taking care of the problems.
Received an extended warranty with the vehicle.
Service is fine when you receive it. That being said having phone calls returned is next to impossible. Speaking with someone that can answer questions that you have seems to take months. Very ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ customer service. Not sure what to make of it. Very skeptical about buying the second car.

I have been going to Boulder for close to 4 years now for regular oil changes and any other issues I have had with my Prius. I started going here after, I went to Stapp Interstate Toyota and had a horrific experience (NEVER go here!).They tried to charge me $ 8,000 for a new part, I went to Boulder Toyota to get a second opinion and they fixed the problem, it was as simple as new battery for only $ 300! Needless to say, I was extremely happy with their service for years. The employees in the service department have always been very nice and I have always left feeling like I was getting the best honest service for my car I could get, that is until now…
A few months ago I went in to get my regular oil change, when I got home my fiancé asked me if I got my taillight fixed. I had totally forgotten, but told him it wasn’t out, they checked and didn’t mention it. We went outside and he showed me it was indeed out! I was a bit annoyed since they had checked on inspection sheet that all my lights were fine. I called and they said to stop in and they would fix it right away. Well, that week I forgot and next thing you know, it’s time for my next oil change. So today when I went in I did not mention my light, I wanted to see if they would catch this time. Part way through, the woman helping me came out to inform me of some other issues. At this point I asked her about my taillights. She said «No, they are fine, they checked. They do a very good job here» but after I told her what happened last time, she said they would check again. A few minutes later she came back and let me know I was correct, they had found 2 lights out! I totally understand that this isn’t anything major, but it’s the simple fact is if they are saying they did something twice and missed it twice, what else aren’t they doing? When it was time for me to pay my bill, I expressed that I was pretty pissed off and didn’t want to return as customer. The woman helping me was apologetic and told me she had already spoken to the management team about the issue. I have already been burned by one Toyota dealer, so trust in my mechanics are huge for me, and as of today they haven’t proved it. This really makes me wonder what else they aren’t doing that they say they are. This is the most simple thing, you look at the car and see if the lights are on!
The one thing that upset me the most, was while I was standing there, talking with her, very upset, she asked what she could do for me. I work in customer service, I would never ask customer what I can do for them, I would do what ever it takes to make that customer happy and offer them some solutions to make them happy and show them that their repeat business is important. The lights they missed twice were only $ 25 for both, she could have at least offered to take the lights and the labor off my bill, to try to show me that my years of giving them my business was important to them. She didn’t, she didn’t offer me anything. I don’t want to go back there for service again, but a regular oil change there costs $ 65, but you can get 3 for $ 75, which is what I normally do there (I mean that is a really great deal!) with money being tight and just dropping over $ 300 on my car, I agreed to get the 3 pack. So she knew I would be back, so she wasn’t really losing a customer, so I don’t think she was really that concerned. Even after I told her, while sitting in waiting room, I over heard an issue an another customer had, that would have cost him over $ 100, it turns out it took a 2^nd mechanic to come in and realize there was no issue, and the first mechanic just didn’t know what he was doing! Which that concerns me even more, I know they are extremely busy, it can take well over a week to just get in for an oil change. I sort of feel that they just aren’t handling the influx of customers as well as they used to and we the customers are paying the price for it with sub-​par service.
I will be going here for my final 2 oil changes and in the mean time, I will be looking for a new place to my car. Again, I totally know and understand that this wasn’t the worse thing that could have happened, its the point. Mechanics need to keep you trusting them, that is how they get returning customers. I had trust in Boulder Toyota had me up until today.

Great dealership. I’ve felt with sales and service and always have great experiences. They were the only metro area Toyota dealer that could get my tundra in for an oil change with out waiting for weeks. Thank you

The plastic splash shield under my car came loose soon after purchasing the car in 2010. I brought the car in to get it repaired under warranty. Left the car there for several days. When I picked it up, they said there wasn’t really anything wrong (the giant piece of plastic was in the back of my car for them to see). Later I found time in my schedule to try again. This time I called ahead, explained the problem, brought it by and showed them what I was talking about, scheduled service, left it for a couple of days. They did no work on it. I took it home again, un-​repaired. They said they would order the part, but that it wasn’t important to replace it anyway, so I decided not to bother as I didn’t want to leave it again for several days and have no repair done. After the warranty expired they said it should be replaced and that it would cost about $ 1,000. Grrrrr.
Take your car there to get something fixed and they likely won’t fix it. But they will find 4 other high price items instead. The people are nice enough, but you will need a second job if you service your cars here.

I just bought a 2008 Corolla from a used car dealer in Boulder.
The Carfax indicated that it needed a recall repair done.
I went to Larry Miller Toyota for the repair. The first technician I talked to, dropped what he was doing and checked the repair record for the car. Since I was at the wrong desk, he called another service tech over. This guy dropped what he was doing, and inspected the car and determined that it needed a new ECM. He ordered the part, and said that it would be in the shop in 4 days. (It took 5 days)
When the part arrived, they called me and we scheduled the service appointment for 3 days later.
They installed the part with no drama. Every person that I worked with were friendly and proffesional.
I highly recommend the Service Department and Larry Miller Toyota.

Please don’t waste your time with this dealership. Most of the sales agents have zero knowledge of what they are actually trying to sell you. If you by chance get a sales rep by the name of Nick, you’d better run the other direction. I was able to come up with a nickname in the five minutes I spent with him known as Nick the piranha. Imagine that, a sales rep that is called the piranha. People like him is what gives the used car sales industry the reputation that it has. When someone like that brags to his potential clients how he is the number one salesman in the state it’s a red flag. Then when he continues to «bash» his co-​workers in front of his trainee is a sure sign to do business else where. He also assured me that he could beat my financing option, when I told him I was going to finance with my credit union, he decided to put me on his lower of priorities list and start helping other customers. He assured me earlier that he would be willing to work with the price, then his first offer was above asking price. What? I knew right away when he walked up to me that he was an egotistical douchebag! But of course I gave him a chance to redeem his first impression. What a waste of time! Hopefully Larry H. Miller of Boulder will learn sooner than later that Nick is hurting their business.

The service crew saved the day, after my regular mechanic couldn’t figure out the problem. Fixed in excellent time and no problems since, so I am very happy.

First, I should tell that this review is for the service part, not the sales part. Many of the good reviews here are on the sales part which unfortunately, made me try them.
I write this review because of my bad experiences with pretty much everything with their auto-​repair service: (1) lack of respect for the customers, (2) terrible quality of service, and (3) bad businessman-​ship.
Little to No Respect for the customers: They don’t have any respect for your time and your time means absolutely nothing for them. You make an appointment (which often takes few days to get in), you go there at the time, and find out the person in charge of checking in who is talking over the phone for 20 mins and you are just standing there and watching him/​her. And although other managers are not checking in any cars, none of them is willing to check you in! Second, once they call me to pick my car up, and I went there, and I was waiting there for one and a half hour (I am not kidding). Why? Because they needed to sort out the warranty with another dealer (which absolutely didn’t require my presence), whereas if they have respect for the customers they would have called you when everything has been sorted out.
Bad Quality of Service: This is the worst part of my experience which makes me have no trust on this dealer. A year ago, I changed all four tires of my car in Atlanta in a Toyota dealer that I trust and they are still under road hazard warranty. Just few weeks back, one of the tires started to loose air. When I took it to the dealer, they called me and said that this tire has been «unprofessionally repaired» and it cannot be covered under Toyota warranty. Guess what? The only dealer that I have taken my car to after changing my tires, was Boulder Toyota! And speaking of respect, they just (implicitly) tell me that I am a liar by not accepting the fact that my car has been only to Miller Toyota after changing the tire (note that they have it on the record that I have been there every 5k).
Bad business-​man ship: last time that I went there to change oil and do the 50k check, they sold me this deal that: buy three oil service for the price of two and I thought it is a bargain. So, I opted to do that. This time I took the car for 55k check to do factory recommended service which DOES NOT INCLUDE oil change! And they changed the oil on my car at 55k which is NOT a factory recommendation and does no good to my car! So, buy two, get three oil change is just a dishonest bad sale trick!
Overall, I don’t recommend Boulder Toyota! I have no trust, no respect, and no faith on this dealer!

Great sales service. I went into this new car purchase expecting smarmy, pushy. Completely the opposite experience. The sales guys were fantastic, no push, got me all the information I needed and I ended up with exactly the truck I wanted at a really good price. Great expeirence.

It’s Bad Karma to Scam an Educator: Don’t Buy Your Next Car Here
I am a female, and I am also a teacher. I also happen to be in an urgent situation trying to trade in my Jeep for a more reliable car that will take me down and back up the often precarious canyon as part of my 62 mile daily commute. I am this dealership’s favorite victim.
I may know very little about cars, but I know how to identify things that are unclear to me, and I know how to ask questions. These are skills which I impart on my students, and if I hadn’t questioned, probed, or calculated the numbers myself, I would have been scammed into taking on an unnecessary car debt that could have seriously burdened me for several years.
Wayne Lewis is an older salesman at the dealership who helped me test drive a couple cars and feel very confident about purchasing a lightly used 2010 Subaru. I was offered a fair price for the Subaru, and the monthly finance was what I had asked for. The payments, however, didn’t seem to add up. Wayne kept delivering me different numbers very quickly, which did not allow me to think of the numbers logically. When I inquired about interest, Wayne’s response was to leave the table and send John Neel, the finance manager, to speak with me. This is when things got weird.
John had the audacity to sit across from me and tell me that he «didn’t know» what my interest rate was because I was a first time buyer. He assured me that the rate was between 3% and 4%, and if I «just stepped into his office» and signed the papers, he would be able to determine my interest rate. Regardless of how disturbed I was by the number of times he used the words «step into my office,» I knew he was evading my question. John already knew what the interest rate was. You ARE the finance director, right, John?
I was then passed onto Scott Vanderschel, also known as «Vandy,» who first tried to convince me to sign the papers again but seemed to reveal a microscopic glimpse of guilt. Had I blinked, I would have missed it. He realized my payments were a lot and then suggested that I look into leasing a car. I left the dealership feeling overwhelmed.
The next day I received two voicemails from Wayne and «Vandy.» Both said that they could take more money off the asking price. This sounded promising (?), and I wanted to have faith in their intention to help me (??), so I went back to the dealership. (We all do stupid things sometimes, right?)
Although they had knocked off some of the asking price, the response to my inquiry about interest kept resulting in them passing me back to John Neel in finance (goddamnit), who, of course, really wanted to lure me into his den where, like a predator, he would ravenously devour years of my earned money.
At this point I was beyond perturbed. I took the numbers and crunched them myself.
The interest was not «between 3% and 4%» as John Neel, the finance director (this is where I would use italics for further emphasis), told me. The interest was between 8% and 9%. Moreover, with the longterm payment plan, the asking price of the Subaru nearly doubled. When I addressed this finding to John, his reply was rather defeated and ignominious: «Ok. Well, we already sold the car anyway.» I don’t even have an explanation for that response. At this point, I did what I should have done sooner and immediately stood up and walked out of the dealership.
Hey. I went through this so you don’t have to. Avoid this dealership at all costs. It’s walls are dripping with selfish scum.

We walked in knowing exactly what people were paying for the new vehicle we wanted and exactly what our trade-​in was worth. The salesman didn’t seem to know much about the vehicle we were looking at, but that was fine because we’d done our research. In passing, he mentioned a couple of his personal problems, presumably to elicit our sympathy so we’d buy from him. This was a huge turn-​off, but we pushed forward.
When it came time to negotiate prices, we were presented with an absurd markup (over True Car, etc) on the vehicle we wished to purchase. They also showed us a printout of the Manheim value for our trade-​in that didn’t seem to take into account the trade-in’s low mileage or upgraded features. I’m confident they knew the value wasn’t being represented accurately.
We wouldn’t budge on our offer, and the sales manager wouldn’t come close to meeting us. So we walked out. We phoned a different Toyota dealership, and they immediately accepted our offer, saving us $ 5K on the transaction (we got $ 2.5K more for our trade-​in and paid $ 2.5K less for the new vehicle). I’m never wasting my time at Boulder Toyota again.

We have purchased 4 vehicles from Boulder Toyota and each time was a good experience. Buying a car is generally a somewhat stressful event but they make it as good as can be expected considering the «negotiation dance» that inevitably occurs. Service dept has been good over the years with a few exceptions. I would recommend them.

If you live in Boulder, you have to drive to Frederick or Denver to buy a Toyota or deal with Larry Miller Toyota. I wish I could rate these guys 0 stars. They are that bad.
My wife and I bought a FFV Tundra. The engine takes synthetic oil and needs to have the oil changed every 5k miles. In sales they told us repeatedly that we only needed to change the oil every 10k and gave us a trifold brochure explaining the ToyotaCare program and the 10k oil change interval. The only reason I figured out this was absolutely wrong was that I received a direct mailer from Toyota on their ToyotaCare program and I did some research on the Toyota website. The trifold Larry Miller put together misrepresented the program to reduce their responsibility to service the vehicles.
They also sold us a Totalcare extended warranty that both my wife and I understood as an extended ToyotaCare warranty and maintenance program. We got a refund coming from Larry Miller on that after I called Toyota and found we didn’t have a ToyotaCare extended warranty. The F&I guy at Larry Miller is really good at his job and possibly a sociopath. He really doesn’t realize that he is scumbag.
Finally i go to the service department to confirm the 5k service interval and let them know that the sales department is handing out brochures that are giving Tundra and Sequoia owners bad information. The Service Manager could have cared less. Different department, not my problem and of course the service interval on a FFV Tundra is 5k, dumbass.
Avoid these guys. I’m going to spend $ 400 bucks on my first two years of service so I don’t have to deal with the attitude and incompetence. Also note they are using sock puppets to keep their ratings high on Unilocal and GooglePlus. Almost all of the positive reviews come from «1 review users.» Crooked and incompetent — Larry Miller Toyota.

Mike «Captain» Parker treated me better than I’ve ever been treated at any car dealership! I had my car listed on craigslist, and he contacted me offering to buy it. After a few emails, he told me what they would be willing to pay. As I drove to the dealership, I fully expected for them to try to lower the price when I got there. To my pleasant surprise, Mike took the vehicle for a test drive, walked back in, and told me that because I had been honest about every aspect of the vehicle, they would cut me a check for exactly what we agreed on via email. I was treated with the utmost respect and courtesy, thank you!

Let me start by saying I’ve had some good experiences here before, but in the past year it seems to have gone downhill. I took my car in to have the smart key battery checked, among other things. They said they did a check but didn’t see anything wrong. A week later I am in the mountains hen the car stops working altogether… with my two little kids in it packed and ready to go. I called the service department and was very disappointed at the reaction. They acted like it wasn’t a big deal, I should just go pick up a new battery at Radio Shack (and how would I get there??), or bring my car in. Called back to find out the battery size an they wouldn’t pick up the phone. How’s that for service? I won’t be bringing my car here agin given how they treat their customers.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. Please spend your time and your money elsewhere. Our salesman knew practically nothing about the car. Luckily I had researched it extensively or I would’ve been severely misled.
The finance guy put the wrong VIN on all of the paperwork, causing us to make a return trip to fill out the paperwork twice. Not fun with a 3 and 5 year old.
I wish I would have known how bad the experience would be before I had them order a vehicle for me. Unfortunately, once I realized what sub-​par operation this place was, it was too late.
I wish I would have researched the dealership as extensively as I researched the car. I bet I could’ve had a better experience at Rocky’s Autos.
The building is a dump, our salesperson knew nothing, and the finance process was a comedy of errors. I love the car I bought, but hate where I bought it.
The place is so bad that I won’t even go back for service.

The reason for this review is because I received excellent service here. Sean is a great salesman. He’s knowledgable, patient, and kind. He was fun to work with and I’d highly recommend him to anyone.

When I was going to buy a used 4runner I first tried here. When I asked if a particular Toyota certified used one I was considering had ever been in an accident I was told that they could not be certified if ever in a wreck. I ran a carfax and it had indeed been in a wreck. I bought at Stevensen.
I started having my repairs done at Larry H Miller out of convenience. No more. While they are friendly and do good work they overcharge and try to sell you on maintenance you don’t really need.
New radiator I did need, Larry miller wanted $ 610. Twin Peaks Auto in Longmont did it for $ 360. Larry HMiller also said I needed a new valve Gasket ($ 700) and power steering rack ($ 1500). Twin Peaks told me the valve cover should probably be done some day but was not critical. They also told me Miller should be reprimanded for suggesting I replace the power steering rack. Sorry Larry H Miller. You got greedy and lost my future business.

This is a terrific dealership. We have bought cars here for decades, not too many though, as we are the type who keep them” forever” which is why proper routine maintenance and repair service is so important. Boulder Toyota (and its various name changes through ownership changes over the decades) has been stellar in this respect. Some of their staff has been advising and repairing through the decades. But we see well trained young staff growing the department too. And the shuttle service is very competent and convenient.
Years ago, we tried some local independents but found we were always returning here, so truthfully, we just don’t go anywhere else anymore. They get it right, they don’t «make work» but they will tell you honestly what your choices are and their suggestions for your needs. We have found that cutting corners on service will come back to haunt you. One of our vehicles spends a lot of time out in the remote desert and mountains, often 30+ miles down a dirt road, often with no cell service. It needs to be in perfect condition when leaving Boulder for an adventure.
