I have been coming here since my sophomore year in college. I have since graduated and now live in Denver. I love it so much much here that I will commute from Denver to come here. Everyone is always very friendly and caring and I love the dogs! They are well behaved and very well groomed. Going to the dentist is surprisingly a very relaxing experience with them. Heated pad, blanket, music, and you are ready for nap time while they work on your teeth. :)

My son is a student at CU, and has been through 6 months of pain and distress due to poorly-​done dental work at our family dentist’s office last August. Based on several referrals and hours of research, I gave Dr. Bentz’ office a call. Paula was fantastic — warm helpful and calming. When things went from bad to worse, they actually came in on SUNDAY afternoon to take care of things. Dr. Bentz is a humble individual. He communicates thoroughly and thoughtfully, and checks for understanding along the way. With the stress and trauma of the current situation, we both really appreciated Amber and Rowdy (the service dogs) on site. Let’s just say our son now has a plan to remedy the current situation, and a new personal dentist. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

My wife and I have entrusted our dental care to Dr. Bentz for over 20 years. He was referred to us when we first moved to Colorado and it is my pleasure to refer him to you! Scheduling an appointment is always easy, with a reminder phone call the day before the appointment. Paula always provides a warm friendly greeting and the rest of his staff works tirelessly to provide a most comfortable experience.
Dr. Bentz is very professional and always takes the time to explain what dental work needs to be done and why. He is very thorough in his examinations and procedures. What truly impresses me is his incredible attention to detail and perfectionism, ensuring that each procedure is completed methodically and systematically to his satisfaction. He invests the extra time to verify that the bite is correct after a procedure and the color of a new crown naturally matches the color of the surrounding teeth. He is responsible for my «hollywood smile» and we are grateful for his continuing care!

I have been with Dr. Bentz since the late ‘70s when I was an undergraduate at the University. I have appreciated the attention and care he and his staff have provided me for nearly forty years. I highly recommend him for dental care!

We were with Dr Bentz years ago and have just switched back to him after moving back into town.
The experience with Dr Bentz, the dental hygienist, and Paula at the front desk has not changed in nearly a decade. They are great. They are all friendly, personable and make you feel comfortable from the moment you enter their office.
I have broken this review into categories for ease of reading:
1) STAFF — As already stated, these folks are wonderful and know what they are doing. I’m delighted with the service I had today. I wouldn’t trust my teeth, my wife’s teeth or my daughter’s teeth to anyone else. Period.
2) LOCATION — Excellent location on East Pearl street right past Whole Foods. Very convenient to most of Boulder when you are out and about. It is sometimes hard to merge onto Pearl because of traffic but the convenience of their location makes up for that.
3) OFFICE DECOR — Very homy feel. I dislike going into dentist and doctor offices that feel cold and un welcoming. This place feels like your aunt or uncle’s house. Very comfortable chairs and even a couple of beautiful, friendly golden retrievers near the front desk to say hello to the kids. Great stuff.
4) QUALITY OF WORK — Dr Bentz and his staff have top of the line equipment and very skilled patient hands. Any review to the contrary is completely inaccurate.
Dr Bentz is highly recommended.

Avoid this dentist at all costs! I was a patient of Dr. Bentz a number of years ago and have had to spend thousands of dollars correcting the work that he did on my mouth. When I finally realized that his work was not up to par I went to another dentist to get a second opinion and Dr. Bentz’s office refused to forward my ex rays without my paying a hefty fee for them. It wasn’t until I threatened to contact a lawyer that they released the X-​rays sans fees. I ended up having to see an oral surgeon to correct the damage that had been done by Dr. Bentz.
I wish it was possible to give him less than one star.

Dr Bentz and staff are consumate professionals, genuinely concerned with your dental health. My composite fillings have lasted far beyond what is normally expected. All of the work Dr Bentz has performed for me has fit perfectly. Bite adjustments are done quickly and promptly without having to wait for an appointment. Over the twenty years I have been going to this office, I have rarely had to wait much beyond my scheduled appointment. Dr Bentz and staff have been infinitely patient with my young one, taking time to make her feel comfortable, easing her into the procedures. The office works with my dental insurance in advance and advises me of all out of pocket costs so I can choose if and when to have a procedure. There have never been any surprises.

I recommend that you do not go to this dentist unless you are fully aware of your insurance and what is covered because you will not be told from the staff. Additionally, their costs are higher and the staff was unfriendly. They claim they’re better because they use ultra modern equipment and techniques, but don’t be fooled, there are many highly qualified dentists who can dance circles around «modern» equipment… it’s called skill. And, whatever happened to old-​fashioned customer service?

I highly DO NOT recommend Dr. Bentz. If you want all your molars filled and invasive, expensive work, then he would be a good match. I personally feel that these are the only teeth I will have and I do not want every one of my molars worked on so he can get as much money out of my insurance company as possible. I have taken care of my teeth forever, always getting my cleanings and x-​rays since I was a kid. I am new in town and went to him once. He told me that I had 16 cavities and every single molar needed to be filled. I have NEVER even needed that much work on my teeth ever! I was shocked. I went and got 3 second opinions (one from my old doctor back home, one from my cousin who is also a dentist, and then I transferred my dental records to a new dentist in Boulder that was recommended to me). Every single dentist told me my teeth looked great! I only need maybe one cavity filled and that was all! Dr. Bentz also has you sit in his office and hear these videos about all the technology and new tools he is using in his practice. Honestly, my last dentist had all the same tools and there was no need to sit and listen to this. I will never recommend this office and I hope when this review is read that you will value the health of your teeth more than this dentist who just wants to get as much money out of you and your insurance company as possible.
