Peak To Peak Grooming

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience.
With spring and shedding season approaching, we decided to get our 2 long-​haired cats shaved (lion cut) to prevent mats and hairballs. It seemed like a simple enough request that any experienced groomer should be able to handle. We chose Peak to Peak based on the glowing Unilocal reviews, but our experience has been astonishingly disappointing.
Not only are both lion cuts completely lopsided, choppy, unfinished, and horrible looking, but 3 of our larger cat’s nipples were shaved OFF! Yes, that’s right, 3 of his 8 nipples are now flat, red, swollen, scabby dots– the nipples are GONE! A week after the grooming session he is still chewing at them and they are actively bleeding. He’s quite cranky and won’t let anyone pick him up– we are thinking we will need to take him to a vet to properly resolve this. We were told our kitty was very calm and didn’t squirm during the trim, so why did he get butchered like this? Clearly this woman has no idea what she’s doing, and we are FURIOUS that our poor fur baby is suffering from her incompetence.
We paid a fortune for these trims– $ 80 per cat ($ 160 total!) for what amounted to 35 minutes of her time (less than 20 minutes per cat). For this much money, she should take enough time to make the cut should look somewhat decent, and it goes without saying our cats should come away *uninjured*. Do your pets a favor and keep them far far away from this «groomer»!

Heidi does an amazing job. I have a schnoodle who hates getting his hair done & she really makes sure that he is taken care of. She tries to make sure his stay is as short as possible which is perfect. When I came back to grab my dog he wasn’t even barking which is amazing! So if you have a dog that isn’t keen on getting groomed, go here.

I have a Scottie who definitely does not like to be groomed and I’ve been taking her to Peak to Peak for several years. Heidi is patient, gentle and understanding with my dog and with me! Highly recommended.

I set out to find a cat groomer, having never used one before. After finding Peak to Peak Grooming and Heidi, I highly recommend her, particularly with cats (I have no experience with dog groomers). She was firm yet gentle to my cat, and got the job done with minimal stress, especially when he displayed serious dislike of his hind quarters or tail worked on. I really appreciated when she guided me to not shave his entire torso in the «lion cut,» which I assumed was extreme but standard cat grooming. She pointed out it wasn’t necessary as she got the upper matted knots out with a comb instead of a clipper.

Heidi is great! She takes care of my very fearful dog Frankie. It’s great to support a local business rather than taking him to one of the chain stores.

We have been taking our Himalayan cat to Heidi for the past 5 years. He gets a «lion cut» shave in the spring and summer. She does an exceptional job with our cat and he is never stressed when we pick him up. She has me bring him in right before his appt so that he does not have to wait with the other animals and lets me know immediately when he is done. As a cat owner I appreciate her understanding with our animal.

Brought my cat in to get a shave — he had alot of mats and knots in his fur that accumulated over the summer. I called around to a variety of groomers and many do not do anything with cats or if they do — they charge a fortune. Found Heidi through a recommendation and decided to give it a try. My cat is now mat-​free, soft and velvety after his shave. He wasn’t freaked out when I picked him up — Heidi did a great job and should I need to bring any of my cats to a groomer in the future, I will return to her.

As a person who doesn’t normally write reviews, I felt this was a must because I had such a great experience here! I have a goldendoodle and my husband and I are super particular about his hair and where we take him to be groomed… we had a bad experience with a previous groomer, so I was a little nervous about finding a new one. I went to Heidi and she did such a fantastic job! He was cut PERFECTLY and got a good report when I picked him up. I could also tell that my dog was happy and proud of his new haircut. :) Heidi was very calm and patient– exactly the kind of person you would want grooming your fur baby. :) I will definitely be going back in the future!
