We have been family owed and operated since 1990. Both of our father son technicians are ASE certified and have degrees or certificates from automotive colleges. History

Established in 1990.

In 1976 Rob started his career as an Automotive Technician in Boulder. 1990 we started Rob’s Village Conoco at the corner of Arapahoe and Folsom. A locally owned family operated mom & pop shop with father and son auto technicians.

We are ASE certified, listed #1 at 100% efffective for state emissions failure repairs and we have Top Performer awards for our outstanding customer service.

We are a full service automotive repair service station. We offer complete automotive repair services, diagnostics, major & minor repairs and factory scheduled maintenance at a fair price with extreme regard to workmanship to guarentee customer satisfaction. We also do oil changes, tire repairs and carry Interstate Batteries that can usually be installed while you wait.

Rolled in with no radiator fluid and no appointment this week. The team here diagnosed the issue (cracked hose flange), took care of the problem and kept me in the loop. Had the car back the next day, and they had other good preventive advice as well. Friendly and helpful. Thank you!

A block away from the shop, my car started flashing the coolant light, beeping, and overheating, so I did a u-​turn and pulled into the lot. Thankfully a bay was open and Rob took a quick look at it right away and started calling around trying to find a hose to fix the busted one. As a female, not garbed my my usual «going-​to-​a-​new-​garage» armor, and especially as I was in an emergency situation, I was prepared to deal with annoying up selling and extra suggestions about what was broken. Instead, Rob and Jon treated me with respect and went above and beyond to get the part as soon as possible and get me back on the road. Very grateful to break down so close to a shop and very grateful for the genuinely responsible service received today. I usually have my car serviced at a local Audi and VW shop but I will not hesitate to recommend Rob’s and may take my vehicle there for certain jobs. I’ll start buying gas there, too! Thanks guys.

These guys are great. I had a flat tire on Christmas day, and they were more than happy to help and did it for a great price. Since then I have taken my service to them when in Boulder. Rob is pragmatic, honest and just a decent guy. They both are. I will take my cars to them for now on.

Excellent service, great prices. The guys who work there are so knowledgeable, and they don’t rip you off like many other places in Boulder do (being a girl who knows nothing about mechanics, I have been taken advantage of a time or two). Would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

had issue with my ’03 elantra starting. AAA jumped me and told me I should get my alternator and possibly my battery replaced. Dropped it off at this place on a sunday and said there was an issue with the battery and alternator. A less reputable place would easily have said yep and would have went ahead and replaced both but the mechanic I talked to was honest, told me the alternator was fine and a new battery was all I needed.
Tough to find that kind of honesty.

Looked up this place, happy that it was open on a Sunday, but too bad the guy working was super lazy and literally didn’t feel like helping us with our car battery.
He reluctantly said he’d come out and check the acid levels, which he did, and said «yep, I think it’s about time for a new battery». Then afterwards, immediately said, «Batteries are a hassle, I don’t feel like dealing with it.» And walked inside.

What can I say? Rob’s an honest mechanic and since my family is extensive and we need to not only maintain our cars but also keep an eye on the budget, we finally found the ideal car doc! There’s no doubt in my mind that Rob’s the ONLY honest and efficient, knowledgeable and talented mechanic in Boulder!
When 5 mechanics tried to tell me (and charged me in the hundreds of $‘s) that my truck was hopeless and it will never pass emissions, Rob gave me one of his cynical smiles and got the car done! It passed with flying colors. Despite of the garage being small and parking difficult, despite the no frills and thrills appearance of Rob’s repair shop, this is the only place and mechanic in Boulder I would trust with my vehicle, safety and limited budget. Rob loves what he does, but most of all, he’s got a rare quality; honesty, integrity! In today’s economy, Rob is a treasure!

So I’m just getting around to writing this review because I just finally signed up to Unilocal.BUT, I have wanted to write a review for Rob’s for a long time now (I had my last work performed at Rob’s about a year ago).
Anyways, Rob is the man. I had my Honda CR-​V serviced at his auto repair shop several times while going to CU as a grad student. He diagnosed and fixed the car so that it was ready to pass CO’s emission testing without much trouble. I was impressed since I went to another auto repair shop and they had recommended a totally different repair, which would have cost about $ 700 and would have involved cutting a part off of my car and soldering a new part on. So basically Rob saved me a butt load of money and a part of my car being melted off. Not bad.
Beyond the good service, Rob also seems very trustworthy — an indispensable trait for mechanics. He always gave me a straight forward answer for what was wrong or not wrong with my car. He also did not try to hook me on repairs that I didn’t need. For instance, I took my car in for Rob to look at its brakes, and he was good enough to tell me that I could «still get about 10,000 miles out of them before needing a new pair.» I was very happy to have a mechanic that was watching out for my wallet, even if it wasn’t going to help him out. This was especially nice being a grad student.
If you have some car repair work that you want done in a fair way that doesn’t leave you wondering if you’re being cheated, then Rob’s your guy.

I used to live smack in the middle of two awesome Conoco’s that provide great service. At this Conoco you’ll get great work at a fair price. One of my favorite times was when I needed a tire fixed and carried my busted one down there and had them fix it up.
The down side to this Conoco is geography. It’s in a great location, but it’s extremely tough to get to. In addition to being difficult to access, it’s got a very tiny lot (keep in mind that it also has gas pumps), and it’s also difficult to drive out of due to the traffic lights at the intersection.
But, if you need work done and can access this place, go for it.
