I ordered delivery off of HungryBuffs, the food took 2 hours and 10 minutes to get to my house. It was cold and terrible. I went in and ate some fresh to see if it was actually good. I was ok. The sliders are fine, a little bland but nothing wrong with them. The cheesesteak sliders are better but really salty. The portabella sliders are gross, keep away. Fries are pretty good. Here’s the bottom line, $ 2.75 is WAY too much for a tiny little double slider. If the food was truly outstanding, or just a little cheaper, I would be in here every day. And for the love of god please do a better job with delivery.

I ordered delivery from Woodruffs. They completely messed up my order so I called them to have my credit card credited. They told me they couldn’t do that but would leave me a gift card. They did not do that and the manager completely denied it happening. Don’t spend your money there, they will take as much as they can, they lie, and have awful customer service.

Giant caveat: this is a provisional review, given that I’ve only tried the donuts. Woodruff is a newly opened restaurant in the food court on the Hill. It’s mega-casual, run by laptop-surfing, beanie-wearing college students who open whenever they please and close whenever they please. Don’t ask me when their hours actually are. I don’t know. Nobody knows. There’s a TV in there that’s usually playing skateboarding videos. Totally not gourmet. No service. No ambience. It’s a counter in a wall in a cold, dirty building. None of which I am holding against it.(Two of my favorite places in Boulder have the same vibe and are in the same food court.) They have a tantalizingly cheap menu(burgers $ 1 – 3, breakfast sandwiches $ 4 – 6, $ 1 donuts) and I just can’t pass up the possibility of eating in Boulder for less than five bucks, so I really, really, REALLY hope that their burgers are good. Or at least passable. Unfortunately, I have not been physically capable of walking right by BOTH Thai Avenue and Bento Zanmai in order to try out Woodruff for dinner. Yet. But today, with enormous self-control, I only ate half of my drunken noodles so I could order 3 donuts from Woodruff. I tried the chocolate, caramel, and mango. The verdict: a) They’re not donuts. They’re beignets. Fried, powdered sugar, and all. b) Well, they’re sort of not really beignets either because they don’t have filling. Just a dime-sized dollop of syrup on top of each one. c) The aforementioned syrup is Hersheys. Hershey’s chocolate syrup and Hershey’s caramel syrup. The mango, I don’t know, but what it tastes like is artificial orange marmalade. I will be back to drop a few bucks on burgers and update as necessary. Here’s hoping!
