Tuffy Tire & Auto Service Center

I have lived in the area over a decade, and Tuffy has seen many (if not all) of our family vehicles. Some needed more repairs and upkeep than others, but Paul is definitely someone I trust. Just a few weeks ago we were going out of town for a funeral and decided to bring it in before we left. Long story short, we brought it in for an oil change and Tuffy found a major issue that needed to be repaired immediately. Tuffy not only saved us the danger of breaking down on our way to the funeral, but they worked out an arrangement with Enterprise to rent a 15 passenger van for my large family! We make it to the funeral safely and returned to have our vehicle repaired and ready to go. Thanks Paul and everyone at Tuffy!

Incredibly rude service manager, incredibly unprofessional. For taking off 4 locking lug nuts, which took 15 minutes, billed $ 108, which was more than the estimate of $ 50 – 100. First, tech decided to punch the gas on my Firebird from the front of the store to the back bay (it’s a V8, I understand that, it’s fun to do), then they went to do a «free» inspection (not free, the work I had done was labor, so I was paying for time. At which point everyone just gathered around to look at my engine, not really do the inspection. I bought the car a week prior. If they had done the inspection, they would have noted that it needed an oil change, new plugs, cap and wires, and rear shocks and suspension bushings were worn. However, after I told receptionist that wasn’t necessary, shop manager still decided to check out my engine. After a couple of minutes, he went in to tell me that I had done something wrong on the throttle linkage and that they make kits for it (I know that the previous owner made an «adapter») I stated, I knew this and had one on order. He then preceded to tell me all the stores in town have this in stock (they did not when I went to 6 of them), and besides, I was more concerned with the hack job and dangerous wiring that the previous owner did and correcting that, and was about ready to start on the rear suspension (hence why I needed the locking lugs taken off, the last person to remove and put the tires on used an impact gun on the adapter and stripped it). Well, for a couple of minutes, the shop manager decided to condescendingly tell tell me that they have that part in stores, with me replying I already ordered it, it’s on it’s way to me (purchased online instead). Well, after my car going in a little after 2 pm and it now being 2:20 pm, my car was finished, and the tech that started my car decided to just start revving my engine for fun. Then they proceeded to tell me the bill was $ 108. Now, I would have been content to pay for the half hour of labor, at what hourly shop costs are, I would have maybe not been so upset about price, if I wasn’t treated rudely and my property wasn’t treated disrespectfully. I would recommend that no one goes there unless you want to be ripped off and treated rudely and unprofessionally.

I went Tuffy automobile center see if I could find what need to be done to my 2007 ford ranger they look at the ranger give my a assessment for over a thousand dollar in repairs. I was not please so

Do NOT come here! They are unethical and absolutely don’t know what they’re doing. I took my car in because there were transmission issues. Paul was told the engine light was on and they never even considered it was the transmission. They did recommend a $ 360 part but I did my research and got the part from the dealership for $ 196. Clearly, their mark-​up is exorbitant. Then, I was told my car would be ready by 6pm that day. I planned to pick it up the next day before noon. When I showed up, Paul lied and said that he told me he would call when the car was ready (that is not true) then when I arrived, not only was the car not ready, but he told me it needed a new transmission and worse, he had added $ 150 to my bill without my consent for parts I had just had replaced. They must inform you of any parts and labor before they add/​do it. And he charged me $ 350 labor for the part that I didn’t end up needing. Though they claimed they initially ran a full diagnostic, they said they had to replace this part first before knowing it was the transmission. They didn’t even drive the car around to see what the problem was which would have immediately alerted them that the transmission was the problem. I told Paul to let me speak to the owner, but he told me he couldn’t because he was in a meeting – I don’t believe this was true. I refused to pay for the unauthorized $ 150, but Paul still made me pay the $ 350 for labor FOR A PART THAT DIDN’T FIX THE PROBLEM AND THAT I DIDN’T NEED. I said I’d only pay $ 300. I contacted the owner later that day who took no responsibility for what Paul did, he did not acknowledge or apologize for Paul padding my bill without my consent (so he must do this often), and he even blamed me for «manipulating the system» because I saved myself $ 200 by getting the part from my dealership. When I explained that they didn’t even drive the car to diagnose it, he said that was normal. However, when I spoke to a manager at a different Tuffy location, he confirmed that the service guys should have tried driving the car to be sure of the problem. These guys are all unethical, dishonest, and clearly don’t know what they’re doing and worst, they don’t care. No one apologized for their series of screw ups and intentionally unethical tactics. And the owner wouldn’t work with me. He suggested I pay him another $ 4000 for a new transmission… like I would ever trust him with my money again. Be careful, women, these guys will screw you over.

Livid. Wish I could rate negative stars this place deserves it. Called ahead yesterday since I got new tires 2 weeks ago. Told the guy on the phone what had happened, that I had hit a pothole d’town and blew one, I also specifically asked if it was in stock and made an appointment for 8am.
When I got there they had no appointment for me, they didn’t actually have the tire either, and THEY WOULDN’T WARRANTY IT ANYWAY.
Huge waste of time, never coming here again

Took my Town Car in for work on the catalytic converter and I was shocked at the initial price they quoted to replace it and other parts they said it needed. They said there was a piece of metal blocking the exhaust. After researching the computer code and the probelm for this type of vehicle, I found that replacing the converter was not necessary. I confronted them with this information. They backed off and said they could «fix» the problem for about half the original quote. I asked why the converter could not be cleaned while on the car. They said that was risky, and that they wouldn’t do it, even though it would save a lot of time and money. Finally put an inexpensive additive in the fuel, as suggested by experts, and the car runs great, engine light went off after this. Crooks and liars!

Service with a smile, is how I would sum them up. They have a trustworthy staff. All of my family take their cars there.
