Avalanche bay was a lot of fun for the kids. Our kids had a blast! Pros: –plenty of activities for young and old –nice locker rooms –plenty of food for purchase Cons: –very loud inside –expensive Overall, good experience. We would come back

Disgusting. Everything is always in need of constant repair, the locker rooms are slimy and full of used towels and trash all the time. Most of the water guns in the kids tower thing are broken. The river is always overflowing with poorly inflated tubes. And as to be expected, buying food in the park or anywhere on Boyne property is way to expensive.

My husband and I stopped by Avalanche Bay on our honeymoon and absolutely loved it! What a perfect activity :) Great price too! We would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a day of fun!

Located at Boyne Mountain Avalanche Bay is great place to take a short break on your ski vacation! The water park is right next to the Mountain Grand Lodge and you can get a package that includes lodging, skiing, the water park and breakfast. Kids under 9 eat free all the time. It’s a decent bargain and we just finished a Christmas Break up there. The kids LOVE the water park!

First, it’s huge but dark… But it’s only open Friday 4 – 9 then Saturday and Sunday. But it’s BIG. SUPERCOOLVERTIGOWATERSLIDE! The super G slide was also amazing! There are like 3 «adult» slides, two big kids slides, and sweet lazy river, basket ball water court, and super sweet surfing wave. Plenty to do for adults and more than plenty for kids. My 3 year old loved the water park. I wish it had a pool though so I could swim with my baby while my husband had fun with my son. Also only limited food choices. Life guards are great and everything is super clean. Will be back for sure. Check out the attached arcade and worth it to stay at mountain grand lodge hotel which is like 10 steps away.

The Big Couloir was a lot of fun for us adults, teens and younger kids alike. The heartbeat in the speakers really helped build anticipation then the floor dropped out — so fun! Hotel is beautiful and everyone was incredibly friendly. We stayed in the villas with the loft, two baths and full kitchen. So nice nestled in the woods but close enough to the hotel, shopping, restaurants, ziplines, and ski lifts. Highly Recommend for family fun.

This water park is very small. It’s inside of a hotel. Only about 4 – 5 major slides. It’s okay if you’re not expecting a major park. This place is no comparison to Kalahari or WI Dells water parks. Seems it would be more entertaining for younger children ages 2 to 10 yrs. There were no lounge chairs to relax in, only hard uncomfortable metal chairs to sit in. The locker rooms, shower & restrooms were clean.

According to my 9 year old. Lazy river is fun to race your family. The slides are sick(which is a good thing). I liked the surfer ride and everything about it. From the adult perspective: It is a mid-sized park if you’ve been to a lot of them. The ones in the Dells are much bigger but this is a good water park. It is our third time in this area and we always have a great time with out children at this water park.

I’m in agreement with Josh B. on this. The place is unimpressive to say the least. We did a mid-week, later-evening visit in the middle of –25 degree weather and a white out. The mountain was shut down and the water park was the only open amenity at Boyne Mountain. Really, we went for a lack of options. We were charged full price($ 80 for two adults; a 3 yo and a 6 yo – with the AAA discount) to use the facility from 6:30 pm until 8:45 pm. We had to be 4 of about 25 people in the whole place. I guess this is a good deal if you get the room/food/slopes/water park package but ala carte this is way over priced for the offering. The facilities could use a solid scrubbing from top to bottom. The Speed Lanes were shut off as well. Water temperature was also a little on the cool side for an indoor venue. Also, the Dawg Haus shop was closed during park operating hours. The check-in at the front desk took entirely way too long – about 15 minutes. Why? On the up side, I felt that the people working there were pleasant and attentive to their jobs. Also, the Vortex??? water ride where you end up swirling a drain was kind of cool and a decent stair climb work out. I wouldn’t go again unless it was part of a Lodge bundle.

This is an awesome facility and a very succinct option for a indoor water park. Have you been to a water park where you’ve too many slides, that don’t matter, and those where lines are endless. All that will change when you visit this one. The rides are good, nicely managed and folks are very very courteous. We had stayed at the Grand Lodge and Spa and had received the waterpark, breakfast, and tubing passes all included for a 2 Bed, 2 Bath suite for 360 $ flat. This deal cant be beat !! Oh, did I forget to mention, we had the mountain view suite ! All in all an awesome place to stay and enjoy with family over a weekend or just over two days.

Not understanding the high reviews for this scuzzy place. For the tots less than 5 years old, save your time and money and go to Great Wolf Lodge. This place was an absolute pig sty and very short staffed.

Avalanche Bay is a very nice water park. My kids are all young(under 4), and fortunately they have access to 75% of the park. There is a large area dedicated to toddlers with a shallow swimming pool, basketball hoops, and playscape with a slide and various interactive spray guns, valves, etc. The kids had a blast and would have been content to just hang out in the toddler area all day, but the nice part of Avalanche Bay is you also take your toddlers down all but 1 slide. There are two huge slides using inner tubes, and you can take them down on a double tube. This was such a thrill for them! To go from the dinky 8 foot toddler slide to the big boy slide made their day. The facility is very clean, with plenty of rest room/changing room space(including a couple large family changing rooms). The staff is friendly and the life guards are attentive. The couple of times I’ve been here, there is also plenty of seating and the lines weren’t too long. There is a small café where you can eat lunch or get a snack(including beer for the parents!). We will definitely be back next year!

For an indoor water park, it had a quite a bit going for H20 entertainment. But the facility needs some updates while the admission price was ridiculously expensive at $ 35 for any time entering prior to 4 p.m. despite how short the visit is. For instance, it took me longer than necessary to figure out how to work the lockers. A female attendant I sought out through the reception desk even admitted that she disliked the old lockers. Also, the bathrooms overall seemed to lack regular maintenance(ie. bathing suit liners and other trash on the benches in the showers). I personally enjoyed just sitting and relaxing in the hot tub and on the lazy river after the soreness I acquired from a long day of skiing. I also liked the several variations of water slides including the double-inner tube type, face-forward racers, and single swimmer versions. More exciting water activities included the«Avalanche» of water that crashed over the play structure and the simulation wave pool for body surfing. Just a warning — Don’t wear a two-piece suit like I did…

GREAT! Clean and well maintained. Friendly staff. Enough life guards to make a grandparent feel comfortable.

We just got back from a Mid week getaway @ Boyne. We weren’t going to go here at first until we stopped in on Tuesday and saw about 40 people in the entire place. So we went back on Wed and they had even less. The FLORIDER is awesome and the longest line was 7 people. The toilet bowl waterslide is my favorite the lazy river actually has a strong current to keep you moving and the slides exit into the river. Not a great place for adults but a GREAT place for the family, lots for the kids to do and enough to keep Mom and Dad entertained also. We only spent about 3 hours here since there was no lines we just kept going going and going, and got tired.

Our second time there. We went over spring break and it was pretty busy. Still, not too much of wait for the water slides. The giant toilet bowl slide is a blast! Our kids are a little older now so that’s nice that they can go off and have fun with our having to watch over them. Enjoy.

Great facility for a fun day in the water even if it’s 2 degrees outside and snowing. We took our little yoopers(10 months and almost 3) and 5 hours later they were still having a great time. The littlest yooper had a great time in the crawl-in pool and the other played basketball in the kitz pool for hours. We took grandparents, so I can report that all the waterslides were a fun ride. There was also a wave machine for boogie boarding or surfing, but I am way, way to chicken to try it. My only complaint is that the hot tub seemed a bit cool for my liking. I can see how it needs to be cooler with all the children climbing in and out of it, but I like coming out of a hot tub lobster red.
