Tlc Inn

This place was amazing!!! They accommodated both us. Our motorcycles and our trailer and truck! Stayed here a night. They let us keep the truck and trailer here while we went on a week long adventure thru Montana! Very clean and friendly and reasonable priced. Highly recommended!!!

I had to live here for a month and a half while my apartment was being finished and it was the best that having to live in a hotel could have been. The staff is super nice and helpful, the owner is often in the lobby working, and ALWAYS says hello. They are genuinely concerned that you have everything you need during your stay, and the monthly rate for the time I was there was phenomenal! They always alerted be a day before they needed to clean the room, so it wasn’t an inconvenience.
Breakfast isn’t anything fancy, but it’s free and it has the basics (coffee, tea, oatmeal, cereal and toast). It’s on the edge of town, but within walking distance of Gallatin Park, and a VERY short drive down the road to the College M hike!
ONLY complaint, and it doesn’t have anything to do with this hotel — the Motel 6 (visible from my window) allows people (the strangest-​looking/​acting people) to loiter outside on this bench ALL DAY LONG. Literally. And they stare RIGHT into this hotel’s windows. ALL DAY LONG. It’s rude and kind of infuriating. But no fault of TLC’s.

Graded on a curve adjusting for economy:
The TLC Inn is clean, basic and no frills. If you need a pool, or extended breakfast selection, this is not the place for you. The best prices are found by calling directly rather than booking on their website. They accept AAA discounts. During a stay in July of 2014 we paid $ 85.60/night ($ 93.60/night including 7% tax) averaging 5 nights including a weekend. The Motel 6 next door had a sign advertising $ 90/​night weeknights, and $ 94/​night weekends (pre-​tax), so we felt like we were doing all right.
We found all staff to be friendly, helpful and pleasant. Someone is at the desk ²⁴⁄₇.
Amenities: wall A/​C (see below), little wafers of soap, fluffy towels, microwave, small refrigerator. There is a jacuzzi and computer access in the lobby. The water in the shower was strong and hot. The free wi-​fi is speedy and necessary in Bozeman, where internet connections seemed rather slow.
What they don’t have: iron or ironing board, hair dryer, very much counter space for the sink (at least in the single queen room).
Free breakfast: two kinds of cereal (Frosted Flakes and Raisin Bran while we were there), OJ, apple juice, cranberry juice, milk, coffee, toast (choice of wheat or white bread) and jams, and an assortment of granola bars
Comfort: The queen-​sized bed was comfortable for our five-​night stay. The sheets are crisp white, clean and presentable. Probably not the finest thread count (a wee scratchy). The 3 pillows were rather flat — if you care about having a fluffy pillow, bring one.
Noise: It’s near the highway, so there is a bit of highway noise when the air conditioner is not running. All windows face parking of some kind, so if someone is outside making noise (vehicle engines, talking loudly), it will be heard. We were pretty impressed with the level of interior noise, however. We were on the second floor, and while we occasionally heard someone walk by inside, or in the room above us, we never experienced any inconsiderate or loud disturbances.
Air conditioning: The A/​C is a window unit with a fan that can run constantly (or if the A/​C is set to Economy mode, the fan turns off, which is not idea for sleep but fine during the day). We usually ran it at night with the fan on, and the white noise helped reduce any odd sounds. We didn’t try the heater since it was summer. The heat is provided by an electric baseboard heater along the window wall.
Light: Every room has a window which can open wide. Curtains provide the typical motel effect of mostly dark with a bit of light around the edges. There is a bit of light creeping under the door to the hall.
In summary, it’s a nice, clean, basic motel. It still seems kind of pricey for Bozeman, but if you don’t need a pool or fancy amenities and want to save a few dollars, you can’t go wrong with the TLC Inn.

Price ok, but noisy, no wi-​fi, amenities, breakfast. Odd smell in room, think from 1970’s air conditioner which goes with 25″ tube TV. Pet friendly with $ 5 fee, but no place for them. Unilocal let us down here, 4.5 stars crazy for this place. Worst place we stayed in 8 nights of traveling.

Great place. The room was clean and had a mini fridge and microwave. Rate was very good for the summer tourist season. We arrived at the TLC Inn after pricing some places closer to Yellowstone, and deciding to save a few $$. With AAA we were under $ 100 for a double Queen room. It’s not a five star resort– obviously, but it’s five stars for a value hotel. Spend your money on a nice dinner. I suggest the Montana Rib and Chop House in Livingston if you are coming from Yellowstone.

Price was not good and very sketchy building

I am here now as I write.
This place has undergone a total revamp. New everything — the outside painting gets done soon too. Staff is very cordial (except the night dude with the ear phones– but he doesn’t talk anyway).
The internet is blazingly fast, the rooms are new everything & CLEAN. Housekeeping crew are totally cool and friendly.
I am a local who is waiting to get into my new house, and I vote with local authority — BEST place for the buck in the area.

This place is awesome! I’ve stayed here every summer for years during my semi-​annual fishing and hunting excursions through Bozeman. For a tired traveller looking for a friendly place that’s clean, provides decent food, and doesn’t put you out a bundle, this is the ticket every time. Thanks TLC Inn!

Clean and cheap motel. Everything you can expect from a budget inn.
A great value: 45 bucks for the double bed room, spacious.
Avoid the third floor where they have some smoking rooms.
Free wifi.
The breakfast is more than decent and you have a hot tube for free !!
BTW: avoid the Bozeman hot springs, its a scam !

I nearly checked in at a neighboring hotel that charged $ 15 more a night, figuring that would somehow «guarantee» that I’d get a good night sleep. Well, cost and quality don’t always go hand-​in-​hand, and this place is great for the value. Fifty-​four dollars bought me a surprisingly large room, and that space would be good for families. For a single traveler, I felt a little far from the TV, and it took a long time for the A/​C to cool down the room. I was on the third floor, and there’s no elevator. That could be an issue for some. I’m a late sleeper because of my night work schedule, and nothing woke me here. No guests talking in the hall in the morning. No banging around in a neighboring room. No chatter between maids. So I awakened refreshed and happy with the experience.

I was a bit put out that super-​8 was charging $ 69 for a single (I called the # on my GPS), so I gave this place a whirl. Awesome decision (unlike my decision to go with Super-​8 the next night… see my other review).
It was clean, comfrotable and smelled neutral… it also had Showtime and Starz… all for $ 50.69 for a single. The lady at the front desk suggested a pizza place which turned out to be very good.
This, along with my experience with Super-​8 the following day, has convinced me to look to independent places when I drive from now on.
That is exactly what a Seattlite like me should probably do anyway :)

Great value for a budget inn. The free wifi was glitch-​free, the continental breakfast was small but adequate, the room was small but smelled fine (non-​smoking), the bathroom was also small but trim, with the sink on the outside so kids can brush teeth while someone is showering. We didn’t expect much, and for the price it was definitely 5 stars. There were no unpleasant surprises, and for a quick stopover on the way through town this motel is definitely the best priced of the 4 major motels on the same block. McD’s across the street, and very quiet night. Thank you TLC!
