SitSuphan is the premier facility in the area specializing in the Arts of Muay Thai and Muay Boran. We are recognized by the Thai Government’s Conservatory of Muay Thai and our Kru Yai is accredited by, Thailand’s Kru Muay Association, and the World Muay Boran Federation with over 25 years of experience. We focus on the whole art of Muay Thai, not merely the ringsport. If truly wish to understand what Muay truly is, then this is the place to train.

History

Established in 2011.

SitSuphan’s South shore facility opened in August 2011. It is the first camp bearing the name of Arjarn Suphan Chabairam who has trained teachers throughout the world.

With over 28 years of Martial Arts and fitness training experience, Kru Mark is recognized and certified by the Kru Muay Thai Association of Thailand and World Muay Boran Federation as an Arjarn (Master) in Muay Thai and Muay Boran. He has taught and promoted authentic Muay Thai for over 20 years, and was one of the first instructors in the Boston area to offer training in the Thai Arts. Kru Mark has been tasked by the Thai Government’s Institute of Muay Thai Conservation and the Kru Muay Association to assist in the promotion and recognition of teachers of authentic Muay Thai, and as to serve as their US representative. He is currently serving as the Vice President of the World Muaythai Federation and will be once again bringing US athletes to compete in the World Championships in Bangkok in 2014.

I went in with high hopes. A lot of the reviews make this place sound great. I still really want to like this place because all the research I did made me believe I was going to get an authentic training experience which can be tough to obtain. The trainers were nice enough, but it was disappointing that during the workout they seemed very distracted. It was difficult to focus on the warm up exercises they assigned while they were gossiping about students with each other. I believe the trainers are knowledgeable and I would get a good education, but the lack of focus and lax attitude just really made me unmotivated to go back. If you are not excited about Muay Thai then how can you make me excited?
I also didn’t like that they are somewhat secretive with their pricing scheme. I asked several times about price and was never given a straight answer. Makes it seem less legitimate.
UPDATE: The owner reached out to me and I got the impression my experience was the exception and not the rule. Having said that I have already moved on to a new exercise venue and won’t be giving sitsuphan another chance, but I am going to upgrade my rating to reflect my interaction with the owner.

If you want to learn Muay Thai, or if you’re just interested in getting in phenomenal shape, there is absolutely no better place to go than Sitsuphan. I trained there for a year, and I can say without a doubt that they got me in the best physical condition of my life. Kru Mark, Allan, Kenny, Noël, and everyone else there are all extremely nice and tremendously dedicated to teaching the most authentic Muay Thai technique you’ll find in this country. You’ll work ridiculously hard and develop muscles you didn’t know you had, but it’ll never feel like work in such a supportive environment. I’ve never written a review on Unilocal before, but I had to for this place. Give Sitsuphan a chance — you absolutely won’t regret it!

I’ve been a student of Kru Mark for 8+ years and having the honor and privilege to train under him all these years have been a great blessing. The instructors here at Sitsuphan are well experienced and most importantly genuinely care about their students, Thai Culture, and Thai Martial Arts. Everyone that walks through the door is respected and welcomed. We offer classes ranging from kids classes, to introductory classes, to high level classes for those more experienced. The facility is made to mirror that of a Thai gym in setup and atmosphere. The gym is always kept clean with new fitness equipment added all the time. Sitsuphan facilities offer banana bags, heavy bags, teardrop, & speed bags along with a ring and mat space. All necessary Muay Thai equipment for sale on location.

If you are looking to learn/​study Muay Thai this is the place. The teachers are very technical and explain things in a way that makes sense. Everyone who trains here seems to have a team feeling and is looking to help you improve. Another great thing about this school is no one is looking to be a tough guy (that I have seen in both intro and level 1 classes). I have trained at a few places before but Sitsuphan just has a feeling of being legit, from the music to the style you feel like you are learning real Muay Thai and are part of a team not just mit work.

Sit Suphan is a great place to learn Muay Thai or just to get into better shape. I’ve been attending classes there for about two months now and I am already seeing the results. Normally, I am pretty shy. However, every single person I’ve met there has been incredible respectful and friendly. All of the instructors are very helpful and patient. They have the unique ability to give individual attention to every student in the class while teaching the entire class as a whole. Every instructor is very patient and improving the form, technique, and over all well being of each and every student is something they do not take lightly. You can learn a lot in the classes, but they are always fun. The workouts can be hard, but they are very rewarding. Overall, this is a very fun place to work out. It is better than a conventional gym because you have people pushing you to work harder, even when you think you’ve reached your limit. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been a member of the gym for a long time, or if it is your first class. You will always feel like a part of a team and everyone will always push you to work harder and you will never cease to surprise yourself with just how much you can do. You can’t get that anywhere else.
Sit Suphan is a great place to learn martial arts or to just get in better shape. No matter who you are or how in or out of shape you are, this is a great place and no other gym or martial arts school I’ve ever been to can compare.

I kept wondering: Am I truly a man? I’m told to try this stuff called Muay Thai. I try it. I go to other Muay Thai schools around the Boston area do I feel a little more like a man? Yes. Like a man that goes to Justin Bieber concerts and lives in his parents basement. I found myself drowning in a sea of retarded porn and bad poetry.
I’m 33, so that was a bit unusual to feel that way.
So I decided to try Sitsuphan.
Now I’m truly a man.
I not only do I walk like a man smell like a man I have a new sense of what is to be all that is man thanks to my instructors who eat baby’s and shit out steely eyed merchants of death.
I’m now a man. I do not worry about being thought of as a basement dwelling manbitch. Although I never plan on competing (I’m not man enough for that) this would be the place to do so.
The only question is as you’re sitting in your parents basement reading this review of mine wishing you could also learn to also be a merchant of death praying for war do you have what it takes to be man enough to put down the twinkies and have the balls to even walk in the school? I think you do!!! If you’re afraid to do anything then you must do it!
Once again thank you Sitsuphan Muay Thai Academy you broke the boy in me and brought out the man.

After becoming interested in Muay Thai and surveying the various local Muay Thai gyms around the Boston area, I found SitSuphan Muay Thai Academy and immediately felt at home. A welcoming, positive learning environment and quality instruction in the complete art of Muay Thai are just a few things one can expect from the outset. The instructors and fellow students all have a passion and respect for the art of Muay Thai that is second to none. When you train at SitSuphan you’re not just learning a fighting technique, you’re learning a culture, an art, a science and a history; you’re learning life balance that will carry you through your daily life. I’ve been going to SitSuphan since they opened, and its a real treat to train Muay Thai the way its supposed to be done. I’m currently in the best shape I’ve been in 10 years and I owe it all to Kenny and Kru Mark for pushing me to shift into a gear I didn’t know I had. The cardio workout is amazing, but its not boring like running on a treadmill or working out on an eliptical. Not only do you get a phenomenal cardio work out, but you are learning self defense techniques that will assist you in your every day life. If you want to be a fighter I can’t really imagine a better place to go to hone your striking skills. If you’re just an every day guy like me looking to get in shape and learning a couple new tricks you couldn’t have picked a better place.

I have known Kenny over at Sitsuphan now for about 10 years and have trained at his gyms in the past. I have also brought my kids in for some self defense training as well and they loved it. Kenny is one of the most solid hard working guys I know, I would trust him with my own kids. He tells it like it is and always delivers quality trainers/​instructors. SitSuphan Muay Thai Academy is one of the best, if not to best, place to learn Muay Thai, especially Muay Boran, a traditional Muay Thai fighting arts. The head instructor, Kru Mark Nardone, is one of the best Muay Thai instructors in the world. The school is very respectful between students and instructors and most importantly, clean. It is great for kids as well as adult at all different levels. All other instructors are highly trained and it has different level of Muay Thai to suit your needs. The strength and conditioning class is great for all people, and it is one of the hardest strength classes I’ve ever taken, and I am a trainer myself.

Never has there been a cleaner Muay Thai gym in Massachusetts that still has all the equipment one needs to properly train to their fullest potential. The instructors are all extremely well-​versed in effective and safe, muscle/​joint-​friendly workout methods and Kru Mark Nardone is hands down the best and most knowledgeable Muay Thai coach in the entire United States. His complete understanding of all Muay Thai Boran techniques helps his students to pick and choose the moves that fit them best, allowing them to furnish they’re very own, very personal Muay Thai arsenal. As a Muay Thai student of 6 years I highly recommend SitSuphan Muay Thai Boran to any serious Muay Thai or even MMA fighters.

Thrilled to have a real Muay Thai gym on the South Shore. I’ve trained at a handful of Thai gyms, and Sitsuphan has possibly the most unique ethos I’ve encountered yet. They focus on a very technical, very tricky style that can sometimes be challenging even to a relatively experienced individual like myself. The payoff is worth the challenge though, as their fighters are very well prepared and have lots of tools to work with. The thing that stands out the most to me is that Saturday morning/​afternoon team training usually draws 20+ people of all experience levels for conditioning and padwork. It’s a really cool experience, a rare show of solidarity, and a great workout. If you’re looking for a gym to deck you out in Tapout gear and watch you kiss your biceps in the mirror, this isn’t for you. Everyone else come on down and get to work.
