First time here! I’m from Ohio and was looking for a good fish sandwich. I was not disappointed! The sandwich was large and the grilled bun made it even better! There were six of us. We each got something different. The sandwiches, salads and pizzas were excellent. Great craft beer selection. Waited about 20 min for a table on a Saturday night. Ali, our waitress, was very nice and made us feel very welcome! Will be back!

We drove up from Pawtucket, RI to head to a Best Buy nearby to do some Christmas shopping and like many others, quickly got hungry from spending so much money. So we came to Unilocal and found this tavern. The food was delicious. My girlfriend got the Mac & Cheese with buffalo chicken and it was probably the best Mac and cheese I’ve had at a restaurant. I got the California burger with sweet potato fries, the burger was a little over done and there should have been a bit more avocado on it if you ask me. The service was horrible. Immediately upon entering we were bombarded by a man asking us for an ID. Just to get into the place. I get why they might do this, but at the same time, we didn’t plan on drinking, and a «hello» would have been nicer to greet us. We were then seated DIRECTLY in front of the door. So every time the door opened up, we would catch the cold air coming on. And the damn security guard who kept checking people’s IDs, thought it was a good idea to keep opening the door to say goodbye to everyone and hold conversations WITH the door open. He didn’t think about the customers behind him who’s food was getting cold and who had to keep their coats on the whole night. Our waitress was MIA half the time, and wasn’t very friendly at all to top it all off. If I were you, don’t go here. We won’t be heading back just because the service was horrible. The food is nothing special. It’s good, but not grand.

I can’t even count how many times I’ve been here. Whether it’s for dinner or meeting friends for drinks and to watch a game, I love this place. I have never had a appetizer or meal I haven’t liked. The food is very very good.(Highly recommend the steak and cheese egg rolls). The place itself is very well managed. The customer service has always been top notch.

Local dive/dump. You can do better than this place. Plenty of better run places around. Read other reviews, owner is a putz.

Food is great, buffalo Mac n cheese is AMAZING. Great atmosphere and friendly staff, their large open windows are ideal in warm weather. Love the place but it’s also a local hangout so it can get a little crowded with local college students. Definitely a good place to watch a game or get lunch. I hear brunch is pretty good too.

I loveeee Southside Tavern. I went for the first time a few weeks ago to watch a hockey game which they had the channel for but the game ended up being blocked turn game time. Our waitress even got ahold of the manager who considered buying the NHL package for the bar so that we could watch the game. Totally outdoing themselves! The thought is what counted and we still enjoyed ourselves without the game on. The food was great! Since then I’ve dined there a couple more times with my girlfriends and other than having some minor seating complications, we all enjoyed our time & food

We were hungry. My boyfriend found this restaurant. I checked Unilocal — reviews were good, so we decided to give it a try. So glad we did. We got seated right away, we were happy. It’s a good sized place with lots of seating and a bar area. We started with the pretzel sticks — huge fan! We both got burgers… he ordered the fireman burger and I ordered the classic… oh by the way — they have tater tots! How could you not get them with your meal!!! Everyone was very friendly. Our server was great and very attentive. I asked about their brunch and our server was nice enough to take some time to tell us about it. I can’t wait to try it. We will definitely be adding this place into our mix of favorites.

Came in tonight for a quick dinner with the wife and kids. Service was great and the server was attentive. Food came out hot and beer came cold. Had the fish tacos. Perfectly fried with fresh pico de Gallo and guac. Have been in before and will definitely be back when we are in the neighborhood.

The food is okay. Great place to go with friends for drinks and a few apps. Id label this a hang out joint more than a restaurant. Dont care much for their«night club» scene. Find it very odd to be frank.

We’ve come here for dinner several times and it’s been great. We just tried it for Sunday brunch buffet and it’s amazing! Coffee is great and it comes with a Bloody Mary and Mimosa menu(bar drinks are not included in the buffet price.) It has a decent selection of breakfast foods and the instantaneousness of the self-serve buffet is great if you have a hangry companion! We will definitely be coming here for either dinner or Sunday brunch again!

first time in since it became southside… we got seats right away next to an open window on a nice summer day… we had a grilled chicken wrap which was decent, and a bacon cheeseburger pizza which was very good… the staff was friendly and efficient…

Excellent food and management — I have been twice and most recently thought my check was charged more than I tipped. I called spoke with a very professional and understanding gentleman and while talking realized I had made the error and I apologized he was very understanding and did not mind. The food is great and the atmosphere is excellent — great spot to go on a warm summers night. Definitely a unique spot for Braintree — not many like it around. Only problem I did have was the guacamole is $ 2.99 for a very small portion and it was very oily. Other than that I have nothing but praises! Get there early it’s a hot spot and tables fill fast.

Good local place! Nice to be able to go to a local place that is not a chain. The Sunday brunch was really good! Buffet style but you can order an individual omelet. I also liked that you could«make your own» mimosa if you are with a group. You get 4 different types of juices with the champagne bottle.

Just print a beer list! It is really annoying coming in here and having to ask the waitress what beers are on tap and have her only remember half of them.

We get lunch from Southside Tavern in Quincy 2 – 3 times a week. Our company is across the street, so at first it was out of convenience, but now it’s because of the food and staff. The pizzas and burgers are our favorites, but those grilled cheese, tomato and bacon sandwiches with steak fries are THEBEST! Very friendly staff and owner Sean! This is a gem in a small Quincy neighborhood!

Great sangria, great baked potato soup(when it’s warm(sometimes it comes out cold)), great buffalo chicken dip, great burgers, great beer selection, great prices, great service, great karaōke, great selection of sports on TV, great trivia, great bathrooms, great atmosphere, great parking lot, great location, great floors, great live bands when they sometimes have live bands, great napkins with silverware wrapped around them, great cocktails, great chairs, great table setup with the bar on one side and the dining are on the other side, great open windows. The pot roast dinner has changed for the worst. This review is for the Braintree location. There are two locations. One is Quincy. The other is Braintree. This review is for the Braintree location.

Looking for a loud sports bar for a burger and beer… this is the place. Especially if you left your standards and taste buds at home. After the waitress emphatically stated that the steak tips were, «great», I decided to take her suggestion. Although they appeared hot and covered in BBQ sauce, one bite revealed fatty and chewy meat with very little taste. My wife had the Cobb salad. The lettuce was fresh. Good thing because the lettuce made up 99% of the plate. The tomatoes where awful and that seemed strange since they are in peak season. On a positive note, the greeting by the hostess, manager and door man was friendly and welcoming. It appears that the servers work hard and try to be friendly. That positive quality almost made up for the fact that my waitress did a disappearing act after serving the meal. Some poor food runner was our only hope at getting all the things that the waitress forgot… which were many. If you like TV’s covering every square inch of wall space, and music so loud you can’t hear a discussion, you’re going to love this place. With it’s deep fry menu, thumping music and schedule of trivia, DJ’s and karaōke it seems perfect for a college town or anyone committed to keeping their cholesterol astronomically high. I should have known this place was going to be a typical dive bar when I passed two guys smoking in front of the restaurant with their hands up their shirts rubbing their exposed, hairy bellies while swearing like sailors. This is a great place for people who like that kind of thing.

I just went here for the first time yesterday after hearing great things for quite some time. We went mid afternoon on a Sunday with a party of 9 — were easily accommodated even though it was pretty steady. Our waitress was extremely nice — easy going, even offered to split checks(that’s always a plus) and then transferred us over to another waitress at the shift change who was also great. The windows were open on the nice day — bar side was busy. Overall it was a good vibe & not overwhelming. TVs everywhere! Not a chair you could sit at without catching the game. My only downfall was that there is only one small tv for keno in the dining room. That one was hard to see from our table. Food wise– AWESOME. We split a bunch of apps. Buffalo chicken wontons are to die for.(And I’ve had many similar at other places! These are so good!) Fried pickles were amazing… We got 2 orders. I tried a friends calamari — also good. Better than just typical deep fried. It has flavor to it & tossed with hot peppers. I got the chicken parm sub w/sweet potato fries… It was huge! I took half for lunch today for leftovers and it was still just as good reheated. Big fan. I will be back. Drinks & beers were good too. Overall our whole party was really pleased with the whole experience. We were all first time visitors & will be back for sure!

OK, sort of wide open as opposed to cozy, a certain amount of waitresses thinking they are«all that». Looks like a good place to watch sports, the number of TVs and how they are placed. Good bottled beer selection.
