We decided to try Olympian Diner after passing by it the last time we went through Braintree. We are always looking out for a new place to try for breakfast. There is a small parking lot but there is also plenty of street parking. We entered and were not sure how the seating worked(no one really greater us). We finally figured out that we seat ourselves but needed to select a table that was set. Once we were seated, it was still a little bit before we got our menus. I had the Eggs Blackstone(eggs benedict with bacon), which was really good. I only wished it came with more potatoes! Coffee was really good, and the servers came by frequently to refill. We would definitely be back!

It’s the second time I’ve been here and I love it. The homemade corn beef hash is delicious. Eggs and fried potatoes cooked to my liking. All the entrees being brought out looks like something Gramma would make. You should definitely order dessert. I recommend to anyone in the area that wants a home cooked meal!

Breakfast with hubby and baby today and decided to try somewhere new. Came across Olympia Diner while searching Unilocal and decided to give it a try. The atmosphere is your typical diner with booths, tables, or counter seating. We chose to sit at a booth. The service and food came quick. We ordered a pancake for baby, eggs blackstone(eggs Benedict with bacon instead of Canadian bacon) for me, and eggs, sausages, and toast for hubby. Both of our dishes came with potatoes. Food was good. Loved the potatoes! Well seasoned and cooked with a slight crisp to it. The pancake was so fluffy and perfectly made. Overall we had a good experience and will come back whenever we are in the area. Also, this place is cash only!

The service was friendly and the food was delicious. My parents are always pleased when they eat here. Nothing too fancy, but decent diner dishes and the prices aren’t outrageous either. They have some signature dishes, the lamb being one. It was fall off the bone, full of flavor. The sides were ok. My dad was happy with his big slab of fish & chips. And my mom liked her liver & onions

One of the worst corn beef hash I’ve ever had. Disgusting. Pouched eggs were over cooked. Having to ask for coffee refills isn’t a good look. They also cater to the larger parties and put smaller tables on the«back burner». Sadly won’t be returning.

We have been here over 30 times in the past five years. Always great! Much better than Ashley’s and Kristen’s.

Needed a good comfort meal and this was the perfect place! My boyfriend got the Irish Benedict and I got the classic. Both were made to perfection and just what I needed today! Service was so fast and friendly and it was close to closing but I did not feel rushed at all.

Went here for lunch on a Friday. Place was crowded, but there were a few tables. Waitresses were hustling, but polite. Food was very reasonably priced, and I have NEVER had a meal come out so quickly in my life. And it was hot! I had fried clam strips and fries. Both were cooked to perfection. Place is loud, and it was hot. There is NOTHING fancy here. But a hearty lunch for three was $ 36! You can’t beat that. We’ll go again!

The Olympia is my current favorite breakfast place. It’s worth the wait(and there is one) to get good honest delicious breakfast without airs or pretense. I’ve only had great service here, and the atmosphere draws friendly patrons. I’ve never had lunch here, but the breakfast is exactly what you’d expect, and prepared exactly the way you expect it to be. Excellently prepared, but not a lot of surprises, beyond the delicious and unique hash.(Is it barbecue flavored? I don’t know, but it’s great!) Bring cash or use the on-site ATM.

This place is your garden variety«greasy spoon» diner that we stopped by for breakfast. I was somewhat shocked to see so many glowing reviews for this place as it was not much different than any other restaurant of it’s type in my opinion. Standard breakfast fare is exactly what you would expect. You order by number for the various egg and meat combinations, and they also have a wide variety of omelets. My omelet was decent, but nothing special, and the hasbrowns were kind of soggy. Our waitress was extremely busy on our visit, and was very abrupt with us. However, the food did arrive in record time, which is always nice. Judging by the banter between the staff and many of the customers, I would guess they have lots of regulars that come in. This is the type of place that would certainly grow on you after awhile. I have also shelled out good reviews for mediocre food, mainly because it happens to be an establishment I visit frequently. Probably the best aspect of dining here is the price. It is dirt cheap, and several of the breakfast combos are less than 5 bucks. It is hard to really find much to complain over with such affordable price points in place.

Bring cash! Food is delicious. The hash is amazing! Also got buttermilk pancakes and they were really good as well. They keep coming around to refill your coffee. Great service!

It’s alright. Good comfort food, parking on side the building. Service was so-so. I’ve been to better diners in the area. Not such a cozy feeling, but it was alright. Pancakes were good, bacon was over done, burger was under done, homefries were very good. I probably won’t be back since there are lots of other places doing the same thing but a bit better atmosphere and quality.

Had breakfast here this morning, and as usual the food is terrific. We’ve been visiting this legendary South Braintree Square spot for quite some time, and it never disappoints. If you find a poor review here on this site, then the reviewer is simply a fool that doesn’t know classic diner breakfast and lunch experiences. Yes it’s cash only(so what they have an ATM), but every penny is worth it once you try the homestyle cooking at this classic diner. Great pancakes and French toast, awesome egg breakfast sandwiches, and amazing home fries. Lunch is legit too, especially the club sandwiches and the open faced turkey with gravy. Believe it or not, I’ve taken my dad here and he always gets the liver and onions(UGH!) and he says it the best he’s ever had! He always wants to go back for it over and over again. One of the better diners on the south shore no doubt. We’ll be back soon.

Great diner! They have a decent menu selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fantastic corned beef hash. Also great homefries! It’s often crowded so you might have to wait for a table. Also, it’s cash-only so plan ahead!

Great pastrami, but the bread was a little soft. Still tasty, but messy to eat. French Fries were hot and crisp. Coffee was hot and flavorful. Just the right size portions. Eclectic local crowd that knows good food that’s cheap!

Olympia Diner and Restaurant is a family-owned breakfast/lunch/dinner restaurant in Braintree Square. Home cooked breakfast for an affordable price… not many diners nowadays. Every time I’ve been to Olympia Diner I have always received excellent service and food. It does get pretty packed Saturday and Sunday mornings, sometimes there is a line.(Well worth the wait, trust me!) The atmosphere is nice and all the servers are very friendly and attentive. You can seat yourself wherever you’d like which is nice as well as. They serve breakfast/lunch/dinner so this is a great place for whichever meal you are craving. The portions perfect, sometimes almost too big for me, but for an extremely affordable price. My usual is one of their eggs special; 2 sunny side up eggs with home fries, bacon and toast. Simple and tasty for $ 3.95!(Without bacon would be $ 2.65…WOW!) No matter what I order, I always leave here full while paying less than $ 10 for my meal! The only«con» I can think of is that it is cash only, so stop by a nearby ATM beforehand.(There is an ATM inside although there’s a fee.) They also have there own parking lot so I’m lucky to always find a spot there, but it’s extremely small. Overall, Olympia Diner is definitely 5⁄5 stars and I would recommend this to anyone looking for an inexpensive and reliable neighborhood diner.

The place is cute and was packed on a Wednesday morning at 7:30am. Portions were large and food tasted very good. The only downside is when the waitresses would throw the dirty dishes into the bucket behind the bar it sounded like the ceiling was going to cave in. Highly annoying.
