This place is okay, nothing memorable. Ordered basic breakfast, eggs and toast. The tables are pretty close together so if you’re eating here you’ll be seated very close to another table.

I liked Sam’s because it is not too expensive. However I had a rather mixed breakfast this morning. My wife and I both ordered Spanish omelettes. Actually I ordered a steak and cheese omelette but after a couple of minutes I was told they ran out of steak. My wife liked hers but mine was overcooked. I asked for it soft and the waitress later admitted she forgot to tell the cook. Both of our home-fries orders were hard, not cooked enough. I ordered Rye toast and was given wheat, though they did get me the correct order shortly. When the waitress came to take our plates she asked How was everything? Good? but turned around and left before we could answer. All in all I guess the place is cheap but you get what you pay for.

Food is okay. Nothing special. Awful service, which is a deal breaker. If the servers don’t know your name, they act like you basically don’t exist. Took 10 minutes for them to bring us our check after waiting awhile with empty plates. Then took another 10 minutes for her to take our payment. funny thing is she waited 10 seconds to pick up her tip. We gave her 20% because we are nice and we didn’t even get a Thank You. I will not be back and it’s a shame because I live nearby and am always looking for a reasonable breakfast spot. I’ll pass. Thanks ladies.

Great little place! I have been a regular the past several weeks for a Sunday morning breakfast. Their chef is fantastic and cooks everything to perfection! As long as they have this talent-they have a loyal customer in me. Check them out.

Quick, reasonably priced and tasty. Yes, they make you sit at the counter if you are alone but the waitress that was there on Friday morning was really nice about it. I have been going here for 15 years and I will continue to come here as long as I can.

If you’re alone and all the single stools are full and all the tables are empty, you’re not allowed to eat here. Extremely rude people. There are far better options around, like McKay’s down the street.

Exactly what I was hoping and expecting. Decent breakfast, served quickly and no waiting. I had three scrambled eggs, home fries and toast, and an Italian sausage. All solid. My kid got the chocolate chip pancake, that was really good. Not a place anyone should go to every day, but definitely a good place to go to get some hearty American breakfast

Went here this morning! We have drove by it multiple times and said we wanted to try it out plus it is close to my girlfriends house. It was not a great experience. Got there and was behind a couple who like us wasn’t sure if you seat yourself or not. They were looking at the menu and lady goes«Are you guys going to order or sit down?» in kind of a rude way. They said sit, and she seemed like she was annoyed that they weren’t sure whether they were suppose to seat themselves or not. Me and my girlfriend sat down because we were scared of getting yelled at as well. We waited for about 15 minutes before we could even order. Not the waitresses fault, I say it is managements. They had one waitress working and that was it. I ordered coffee and the Meat lovers omelet. The omelet was mediocre. The hash brown tasted like they were frozen from a bag. The pancakes tasted like they were the box kind where you can add either water or milk, and they decided to add milk. I think they threw some powdered sugar on them in hopes that no one would notice. The place could use one of those make over shows from the Food Network, like Restaurant Impossible. I gave it one star because I don’t plan on going back, I would rather pay a little more for breakfast and go back to the usual diner we go to that is right down the street from Sam’s.

Since I like diners, and Sam’s was within walking distance of my apartment, I tried to eat here twice. Didn’t actually manage it. The first time, I was by myself. I was also on crutches, from an accident. The place’s policy is, seemingly, that people by themselves must sit at the counter, however many tables are free(four of them, at that point). I pointed out that I really couldn’t sit on the counter’s tall stools, and needed to extend my injured leg. No dice. So out I hobbled to IHOP — happily, only two blocks away — where they didn’t care where I sat. The second time I came in with my wife, 25 minutes before closing. Now it’s the LAW that a restaurant HAS to serve you, whether you come in 45 seconds before closing or not. Still, they said they were«closing» and declined to serve us. So out we went to IHOP, which seemed to feel that they were in the business of peddling food. That aside, even by the low-rent standard of diners, this is a dreary, dingy place, and could stand with a fresh coat of paint, a bit of degreasing, and for the linoleum to be pried up and burned out back.(You might note that of the horde of pictures posted, only ONE is of the interior — and it’s a tilted, out of focus shot — and most of those are posted by «Yelpers» who haven’t actually posted any reviews. Obvious conclusions are obvious.) One wonders how this dump stays open — given the experiences of other reviewers — and I can only think that there must be no other non-chain diners at this end of Quincy.

My dad was visiting and he loves to go for brunch. Found Sam’s on here and decided to give it a go. We walked in and I immediately wanted to leave. The place smelled like dogs had been living there and it all looked so dirty. The floor could not have been swept or mopped anytime recently, it was really unsettling. The waitress was a sweetheart, even though she was going on about her personal life within obvious earshot of us. I got blueberry pancakes and they actually tasted like nothing. Even the syrup tasted like nothing. Total disappointment overall, although my dad enjoyed the French toast. I don’t know about him, but I certainly will not be returning.

Good value, decent food. As someone with food allergies, they tried to be accommodating, but a little green on the subject, and options without eggs or milk were relegated to french fries. The atmosphere is a little creepy, but I suppose if you’re used to it it could be endearing. The oreo cookie pancakes were a big hit with my daughter.

Two eggs and toast. That’s what I had for breakfast at Sam’s recently. I had a pleasant morning chatting with locals, enjoying the modest ambiance, and overhearing a waitress fight with a belligerent customer. Nothing fancy here, just good cheap breakfast food. They have a counter too, so this is a good place to read your thick Sunday paper on a lazy weekend morning.

Not a bad breakfast at all. One of my favs if I’m around quincy. The place is very outdated but well kept. Feel like I should be pulling up to park in a delorean while listening to huey lewis«power of love». Still good food.

Sam’s is a nice local diner — there’s nothing too wild and crazy on the menu(eggs, meats, pancakes and french toast), but service is good and quick and the prices are great. I’ll definitely be coming back.

My friend who is a local takes me here when I visit. The food here is much better than the appearance of the restaurant! Also, great place to go if you want to hang with the locals. I give this place 4 stars because the food is always great, for its local charm and value. Not exactly my first choice but I know I’ll eat well here. Great eggs and home fries.

I love Sam’s. I love rolling out of bed on a weekend morning, rounding up my hungover room mates, and going to eat a plate of pancakes and bacon walking distance from my house. The food is great for diner food, and unlike my other favorite spot The Wheelhouse Diner, there is never a wait. I don’t know what it is though, but one of the waitresses always scowls and gives attitude to my friends and I when we come in. I don’t get it. I’m clean, I’m polite, I never take more than a minute to order. I swear to god I’ve tipped this woman like 40% trying to win her over and she still scowls at me the next time I come in. Well lady, now I’m giving you a 4 star review so people will goto your diner. Is that enough? Can we be friends now? Please? Finally?
