McCulloch’s Wide Width Shoes

My husband has very wide feet so he has a difficult time finding shoes that fit him right. This place is great, they measure how wide your foot is and gets you in the right pair of shoes, this place is a life savor for my husband. they carry all different brands so you won’t be left out on looking cool in your shoes. My husband favorite brand is new balance!

The Unilocal check in offer says 10% off any shoes. It says nothing regarding «clearance» or «regular» priced items. However at check out, we were not allowed to use Unilocal check-​in. The associate advised it’s only on regular priced merchandise. Perhaps they should make that clear when advertising the Unilocal check in.

Bought shoes on Black Friday — never put them on other than in the store and returned them the next day and they would only give store credit. Never going back again. Snails Pace shoes are less expensive and the customer service is awesome. I wish I could give this less than one star.

I have FINALLY found a place where I can get shoes for my feet that don’t hurt! Plus they are actually cute shoes :) This store was a wonderful find that I would recommend to anyone that has trouble finding wide width shoes that fit well. They have a large selection of shoes in many different styles to chose from. The staff members were very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful; they sized my feet for me and helped me find exactly what I was looking for. I’ll definitely be back again for more shoes, and for once, I will actually be looking forward to shoe shopping. I LOVED THIS STORE!

They really helped my dad dad. He was wearing the wrong shoes and the wrong size. He was in so much pain he could not go trick or treating with his grandkids. Erick fitted him properly and he got some good atrex insoles. He had no idea he should be wearing 10 6e!!!

I unfortunately have wide feed. I went to Macy’s looking for dress shoes and none of them fit well. Luckily the person who was helping me knew about this place and suggested I visit. From the outside, this place is OLD. A old bank turned into shoe store. You walk inside, and it’s like you have gone into a movie set. It’s ridiculous, haha. But all that aside, this place is a gem for people with wide feet.
They only cater to 4E and bigger. I wear a 2E running shoe, but was able to fit into a 4E perfectly fine so don’t worry. I also learned depending on manufacturer, 3E means 4E, and 5E means 6E, so if you happen to have those numbers, don’t sweat, this place has you covered.
From running, walking, sandals, hiking, boots, dress shoes, this place has it all. As I said, I came here for dress shoes. You won’t get known brands like Calvin Klein here, but the designs are modern and look good. I picked up a pair of brown leather oxfords that fit well for $ 110 and that’s fine with me. Expensive? No, when you compare it to department stores, it’s very competitive.
The girl helping me was helpful and informative and I highly suggest this place.

Wife went there and was sized (by them) at a 7 XW (4E). Well, of course. That’s why we went to McCulloch’s. Where else would you go for shoes if you were a woman wearing 7 XWs?
After finding ZERO pairs in her size, they suggested that she tried a size up in wide. They seems alright at the time. So she bought two pair that were on sale. But upon getting them home and trying them on again (this time not so rushed), she decided that these just weren’t going to be tolerable.
Going to return them, she was told that there were no returns on sales merchandise, only store credit. «See? Right here on the sales receipt.»
Only AFTER making the purchase are you notified that all sales are final and no returns, and ONLY then if you scrutinize the sales receipt.
After pleading her case that this was unfair and bordering on unscrupulous did they agree to refund her for the more expensive pair and give her a store credit for the less expensive pair.
OH GOODY! She has a store credit to a shoe store that doesn’t carry shoes in her size!
Bottom line is this. I’m an Orange County native and have lived in North OC since 76. I have always believed in supporting local businesses when I could. But Nordstom’s or Macy’s wouldn’t have treated my wife this way.
At the very minimum, the cashier could have made it clear at point of purchase that there would be no returns on sale merchandise, but store credit only.
This was a «Pearl Harbor» and I advice you shop elsewhere.

I have to use orthodics for the first time in my life, it turns out that my feet are very wide, so I had to accept that style options very limited for me, which is a tough pill to swallow. The young woman who just helped me today was understanding, attentive, thoughtful, knowledgeable and resourceful. She helped me puzzle out something that will fit right for the long-​term while fitting into my lifestyle. I was surprised at how nice the inside of the store is compared to it’s exterior, and especially delighted that the staff are real human beings. I can’t believe I’m walking out relieved. Sending them thanks.

Had a horrible experience! My husband and I had been going there for about 10 years, and referred my mother to go there for some shoes too. She’s had two surgeries on her feet, and is a nurse always on her feet, so she had been needing some good shoes. She went with McCulloch’s on our recommendation, told them what she needed them for, told them she was a nurse and what she did at work, that they needed to be non-​slip shoes, and the size she wore, etc. When she tried the shoe on at the store they gave her a half size smaller than what she normally wears. She told them that wasn’t her size, but they insisted it was a good fit for her. Since the employee assisting her was also a foot doctor, she figured he was a professional and knew what he was talking about. When she took them to work, the shoes made her slip, and felt too small. Luckily she took an extra pair of shoes just in case, and changed into them as soon as she could at work. When she returned the shoes (in their original box and with the receipt), they refused to refund and even exchange them for her. She paid more than $ 180 for those shoes. And on top of that they treated her bad, like if she was low class. She said they were very arrogant and just had horrible customer service. I called them too, on her behalf, thinking they would consider what I had to say since we’ve been their customers for so long. We commuted from Bakersfield, CA just to buy shoes from them. But none of that mattered. I felt that arrogance and unwillingness to help too. We took it to the Better Business Bureau, took pictures of our receipt and still in new condition shoes, and they were still unwilling to make things right. Beware of these money hungry people.

This store has always been helpful and polite. I always find shoes that fit and are comfortable and wear great. I am a teacher and on my feet all day, so I only shop here to get shoes that fit and are comfortable.

My Mom was fitted for a brace for her ankle. We have been searching for shoes. It is so hard to find them to fit with her brace and then her other foot. One store put her in a mans shoe and she couldn’t even get it on. Today we went into McCullochs Wide Shoe. The man knew exactly what she needed and how to fit her and even had some nice styles for her to wear. He was extremely patient with her also. I have to say my Mom left in much brighter spirits than what she arrived in. She was so happy she was not going to be stuck with ugly shoes too!!! If you have any kind of a braces to wear please go to this store first.

After years of acting in movies and TV in the 70’s and 80’s, owner Jack McCulloch opened his wide-​width specialty shoe store in a former bank building and filled it with a combination of shoes and movie memorabilia. That connection is made when you pull up to McCulloch’s and park in a space reserved for Charlie Chaplin, Judy Garland and Marlon Brando. Then you enter the shoe store under a sign that says «Sound Stage 25».
The banks former old vault room was turned into a mini Graumann’s Chinese Theater complete with film projectors and 14 red velvet seats from Warner Bros. executive screening room. There’s no business like show business!
McCulloch’s has been fitting and special ordering wide-​width shoes for more than 20 years. The shoes are more expensive, but that’s to be expected. They have big discount sales twice a year. The clerks are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
So, to all my wide-​footed friends, take a walk on the wide side and check McCulloch’s out. There’s no business like shoe business! The shoe must go on!

My husband went into the store on Thursday, the sales guy was showing him around, showing him the sales area, my husband asked for a certain size, the guy took his foot and pointed to a box. My husband was very offended that the guy used his foot, instead of using his finger to point out something.

Bottom line and getting straight to the point the store owner was insulting, he stood there as my initial questions were asked of him, like a statue with no purpose other than to be shit on by pigeons. I did not make it 5 minutes before wanting to beat him like the pecker that I know he is.

I went here because I referred by a co-​worker that they would be able to help me find a shoe comfortable and supportive enough for my Plantar fasciitis condition. Albert was very helpful and answered all my questions. I found a tennis shoe i could walk in and not be in pain. I have to admit I paid $ 160.00 dollars for my shoes before taxes, but I don’t think you can go anywhere and pay cheap for a pair of shoes like this to help in the pain and discomfort with Plantar Fasciitis.
They have plenty of styles to choose from and friendly, knowledgeable staff. When you walk in the place you can’t believe how cute and decorative it is inside. Movie set theme indeed with a built in theatre to rent out if interested on having a private movie night with family and friends.

I just had an excellent experience here. I just came from the Brea Mall after striking out on finding 8.5 W dress shoes.
I walked in and told them what I needed and immediately got set up in the 8.5 section. They explained that they have W and EW, but luckily I am only W. So I tried on 4 pairs and they were all comfortable with soft padding on the insoles and non-​restrictive Wide widths.
This was the first time I actually got to pick a pair of shoes based on style and not if they have availability jn my size.
So grateful I was referred here from the mall. I can’t wait til they get winter boots in because those are really hard to find in my size too.

I had heard of this shoe store from friends on Facebook, I was hoping it was as good as I had heard because I am always struggling to find good affordable wide width shoes, not only did I find exactly what I was looking for but the manager Tom helped

Service is hit or miss.
Prices too high. I went in for their giant sale this last weekend and their «sale» prices were higher than the regular prices on the same shoe at different stores.
Return policy needs improving. Beware.

There’s two types of shopping that make me so depressed that sometimes when leaving the store in question I feel like walking in front of oncoming traffic. One type is clothes shopping, the other is shoe shopping.
The clothing thing should be obvious — I’m fat and no one makes or sells nice plus size clothing. Especially dresses.
With shoes — well, I’m a size 6 ½ wide — in some kinds a double wide. The average American woman’s shoe size is 8 narrow. Many companies don’t even make shoes under a size 6 any more. (Which makes it even harder on my mom, who’s a size 5 ½ wide! She actually has to buy children’s shoes!)
Because of this and because I will admit to pickiness when it comes to my sneakers — I will NOT wear all leather, too sweaty, and those ones with silver trim look gross after a few wears as the silver starts to rub off — it’s really hard for me to find shoes.
But I needed a pair for work. My current ones are so broken down that my feet were hurting like crazy. Add to that the fact I have hyper flexible ankles I’ve been in serious pain.
So after much searching, I finally stumbled upon McCulloch’s website. They looked like they had some that I would tolerate if not love, so I went.
First off, love the décor. All those old Hollywood pictures and collectibles. I felt like I was in Heaven.
I didn’t have a pushy salesperson. Just a very nice young lady who showed me where the shoes I needed were and stayed nearby but not hovering. I found a pair right away, all white, the brand name is Drew. She got my size and helped me get into both. They fit like a dream. So I took them.
I’m going back for the sale in November as I’ve already spotted some dress shoes I want.
It was a surprisingly painless and not at all depressing trip. Mom now regrets she didn’t ask if they happened to have any dress flats.

Calling all people/​relatives with wide feet, corns, bunions, diabetic feet… I have found the best shoe store around!!!
I am about 5 feet tall, but I have very wide feet with bunions. Finding painless shoes is like looking for a needle in a haystack for me.
Usually, if I find a pair of shoes that is remotely comfortable, I’ll buy it no matter what the cost because nothing ever fits me correctly. Usually, I’ll buy a Woman’s size 7.5 Wide or extra wide if a store has them and then get the shoes stretched extra at a shoe repair store. Still, the shoes don’t fit quite right, but I live with it. Then, I’ll take my old pairs of shoes to the shoe repair stores to have new bottoms/​heels replaced because I can’t ever find any shoes. So, usually my work dress shoes are around 3 – 5 years old.
Well, to my surprise, McCulloch’s Wide Width Shoe store exists within 10 miles of my house. Justin, the General Manager, was an absolutely wonderful certified pedorthist; He measured me and explained that the reason I have difficulty finding shoes is because my foot is a Woman’s 6.5 with a 4E Width and I have narrow heels. This totally makes sense on why most shoes hurt me or slip off.
After trying about 8 pairs of women’s dress shoes, I came out with the first pair of dress shoes that ever fit me correctly! I think I almost cried with tears of relief.
Why try shoes and then continue to buy at McCulloch’s shoe store instead of online competitors now that I know my shoe size? Anyone with wide feet, bunions, diabetic feet, etc. know that each shoe fits and feels completely different, even if the sizes are the same. It took me trying 8 different women’s dress shoes to find one pair that fit me today. I don’t want to go through 8 – 10 pairs of shoe returns by doing shopping online only.
Thankfully, McCulloch’s Wide Width Shoes also sells hiking boots, athletic shoes, sandals, diabetic shoes, casual shoes, heels, and work shoes. Apparently, this store also can do applications to your insurance/​work with your doctor to try to get your diabetic shoes paid for.
Right now, if you mention Unilocal to Justin, the General Manager, he will give you discounts. I don’t know for how much longer the Unilocal discount will last… but to be honest, I don’t have much of a choice. My wide, bunion feet are very expensive to deal with. I’m just happy that I can find shoes that don’t hurt me anymore. I’ll be back for some hiking shoes later (I have not bought hiking shoes in more than 10 years because nothing fits).
