Okay. This place is AWESOME! I want to spend eternity here. I had the gold package wedding and it was perfect. The rooms are beautiful. Chocolates on the bed. Jacuzzi tub. Ahhhh. Bliss!!! Then the breakfast. Ermagosh. Yummy. So gourmet. Makes Martha Stewart look like a joke. Donna and Byron are for lack of better words the kindest and most attentive inn keepers. They make you feel like you’re family. Plus, the place is immaculately clean and there are yummy cookies and lavender lemonade all throughout the day. At night you get chocolate chip cookies. SCORE!!! Then, you are a walk away from the beach. The beach is beautiful. Ahhhhh! The whole place is perfect!!!

As written elsewhere, beautiful home, delicious breakfasts and constant tea desserts available. Donna is warm and welcoming. The room was lovely with a porch overlooking the yard. We watched wild turkeys sunning before breakfast. Lavender sachets and truffles with a small bouquet were on the bed tray when we arrived. Port and sherry may be sipped on the comfortable front porch. Across the street is a cemetery and old church with graves dating back to the early 1700’s. Fascinating. A block or so away is a little field with a bench. You can sit among the lilacs and listen to the cardinals and other birds. The shore is only a couple blocks away. Many restaurants are very close or a short drive from the inn, Harrison, the dog, is charming. Be sure to ask him to «smile». Be sure to check out and buy the cookbook which has many of the recipes for the tea desserts, the lemon ricotta cookies are great. Would definitely return for another visit.

My wife and I came up for our Anniversary. This place is great! I would give it an even HIGHER star rating but Unilocal won’t let me. :) Everyone is very nice and enjoyable. The room was spacious and clean. I liked the way they put cookies and snacks out. The breakfasts were fantastic. Each day was unique and tasty. We had a nice time relaxing by the pool, and there are so many activities to do in the area. We brought our bikes up, and made a day of the bike trails. We will be back again. The owners really did a great job.

I stayed at this inn by chance and was so very pleased with the look, feel, and hospitality of this wonderful old Captain’s home that is so beautifully restored. The care that is put into your stay is second to none. I felt so at home at the Captain Freeman Inn I will for sure stay there again and again.

Our experience with the Captain Freeman was totally delightful. From the great help from Byron in choosing the room and booking to the warm welcome from Nathan to the friendliness and fabulous kitchen skills of Donna, we enjoyed every minute. Our room, the Eastham was spacious and well appointed. The staff kept our room and the entire inn impeccably clean. The breakfasts were excellent and we really appreciated the home baked cookies(always two kinds!), the availability of coffee and cold drinks for the taking. It was just the right amount of having friendly people who know the area there to help with suggestions. The grounds are beautiful, pool area very relaxing, and the availability of beach towels and chairs is a real plus. Additionally, we loved the location. The Brewster General Store right next to the Captain Freeman is very convenient. The location is close enough to the more crowded areas that you can get to them quickly, but also get away from crowds at the Inn and it’s immediate vicinity. We definitely would return.

Really a wonderful experience. Here for a long weekend, stayed in the Truro and Wellfleet rooms, and found them just delightful. Clean, comfortable, beds that you melt into and then want to cocoon in. Warm friendly staff, and an exceptional breakfast. Couldn’t make up my mind on the Huevos Rancheros or Almond French Toast, and was pleasantly surprised to find a generous portion of both served to me. Our arrival coincided with a spring snowstorm, 9 inches fell overnight. Imagine how surprised and happy we were to wake up and find the owner had brushed off our car!!!

My wife and I came here on our honeymoon this past August and we couldn’t have picked a better spot. The house and rooms: The recently renovated house was absolutely stunning. Our room was beautiful, clean and every detail was thought of and attended to, including very nice toiletries in the bathroom and nice robes. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, I haven’t slept as well as I did at the CFI in months. Also, the pool is very beautiful and relaxing to sit by. The food: The breakfast and baked goodies are amazing. We were consistently impressed each day with how delicious the breakfast was. Also, having constant access to delicious cookies and breads all the time was pretty awesome. The staff: The staff were the real star of the show here, if you ask me. So courteous and nice. We also got lots of great recommendations for places to eat and go from them. The location: Brewster is an awesome town to stay in because you’re central to so many different things. Also, lots of great restaurants. The CFI is specifically in an awesome spot, right next to the Brewster general store which is a cool place. It’s also within stumbling distance of The Woodshed, a great dive bar to go to for a drink and some live music. Note that the beach down the street is not the greatest you’ll find on the cape, a little mucky and quite a walk out to the water. However, fear not, it will do the job and if you want to go to a great beach, try out Mayflower or Chapin beach which are about a 15 – 20 min drive away. Overall: I can’t recommend it enough, now go!
