Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club

Overall we had an OK time at a substandard resort. To begin I had called the night before our arrival to double check that they were enough beds for myself and my kids I was told there were two beds and a pullout sofa therefore I didn’t bring a cot for my youngest. When we arrived the sofa did not pull out, when I spoke to a manager he told me I misunderstood it is a second bed or a pull out couch. Since I was stuck he nicely charged me $ 70 to use one of their cots for the weekend. The main bed in our room had a cracked frame and therefore made terrible screech sound every time you rolled over. The carpets had stains on them as did the tile floor in the kitchen. The Fletcher pool was filthy, black on the bottom, all around the edges and hair and yuck floating in it. The mansion pool was better but freezing. The walls are paper thin so you hear the TV in the voices of the people on both sides of you. And the baseboard heat did not work on a 40 degree night. And then there is the clientele. On our last afternoon there I took my daughter into the locker room to rinse off after swimming at the mansion pools. Next to me in the bathroom stall was a mother with a toddler. Out of the blue a woman walks in and starts banging on the bathroom door yelling at the mother inside that it is not a changing room it is a bathroom. The mother says my daughter is going to the bathroom, the woman says she is lying because“I can hear you changing”. The mother repeats again that her toddler is going to the bathroom while she changes. The woman tells her that she better be. Then she walks over to the shower where my daughter is and pulls open the curtain and tells her to hurry up. I close the curtain and hold on to it. I tell her she could go to her own room to take a shower. She tells me that she’s «a member» and it is I who needs to go elsewhere. If this is how the members are, I never want to go back.

Winter retreat and then some.
We went down during February vacation and had a very nice stay in light of the fact that there was a blizzard. The food on site was very good especially the breakfast buffet in the mornings. The Bayzo pub has really good food but it’s service is hit or miss. We had the same waiter a couple of times and he was hit or miss. In fact his name could have been hit or miss. Overall the experience at Ocean Edge with kids activities, game room, movies, and the pool, and the pleasant staff made it a great Valentines Week respite definitely worth the trip, and we hope to be back next year.

Friendly service, old décor, uncomfortable bed and furniture, definitely poor value for the money. Lovely main house and carriage house. Wedding «pavilion» is kind of a joke. Great pool and beach facilities.

Ocean Edge is the most gorgeous vacation destination. It’s a great escape from the city hubbub.

Friends own a condo on the Golf Course and suggested we visit so we booked a few nights at the Mansion.
Upon entering the driveway, I was excited to see beautiful grounds and lovely buildings. «Oh, this is gonna be good.» When we pulled up to the West Building to unload luggage by the door of the pool, the first thing my nose noticed was the hefty chlorine smell. That smell wouldn’t permeate the hotel room, right? Wrong. The room reeked.
Just outside the door by the elevator, there was a dirty bandaid and gum wrapper. Ick. The room was shabby with nice finishes slapped over it so hopefully no one would notice how old and dated it really was. The free electrical outlets wouldn’t hold a plug because they were antiquated.
We spent one night on the 1^st floor over the pool. My nostrils were burning upon wake up which was at 6:30am as our neighbor above us tromped around noisily. The walls and ceilings are made of paper, people.
That was the final straw which inspired me switch to a room on the second/​top floor. It was better with a view of the parking lot and peek of the ocean. With no one above us to shake the floor, it was much quieter with less pool stink.
Did I say the neighbor was the final straw? It was actually food poisoning which was most likely contracted from the pub. My poor husband was violently ill 2 hours after consuming seafood at the pub. To say it was a rough night is an understatement. I’ve never seen him so sick.
Kudos to kind and helpful staff which is why I deem this place 3 stars instead of 2. The front desk gave us the name of nearby urgent care, let us stay in the room until mid afternoon and had the dining director contact me directly. The director would understandably not take responsibility for poisoning my husband but removed the dining charges from our bill.
Ocean Edge eventually does the right thing but I’m discouraged from returning.

This hotel is two star at best. When booking online, be sure to pay attention to where you are booking. If you book on ‘mansion’ side, you will be closer to the beach and social atmosphere. If you book in the villages, you will be closer to the golf course. ONLY mansion side guests are allowed on the private beach. Staying in the Villages (villas) means you must take a shuttle to the local beaches. The water is not within walking distance and you are across busy street from the resort.
Do not waste your money on the restaurants at this resort. They are overpriced and awful. We ate at Linx, the golf club restaurant and what a disappointment. The bread rolls were so hard, we had to use a serrated knife to cut into them. The food portions were very small and it was diner food at best.
If you think about eating at Ocean Terrace, think again. A family of 4 cannot eat for less than $ 300 and the food and service were just terrible. The croutons on our salads tasted like chemicals and the seafood in our Bolognese was tough and flavorless. We had to ask for our waters to be refilled twice and were not offered to have our wine glasses refilled. This is a beautiful atmosphere for a cocktail at the bar but do not eat here. You will be thoroughly disappointed and leave with a hefty charge on the AMEX.
About my stay: When I arrived, I was impressed with the size of the villa. What I was not impressed with was the cleanliness. The floors were absolutely filthy. We took our shoes off and our feet were instantly blackened. Additionally, there were dead bugs squashed all over the walls and ceilings. The bathroom had hardened dirt in all of the corners and there were filthy handprints all of over the walls of our unit. We had lightbulbs that were burnt out and we could not even sit on the patio because of all of the dead bugs and dirt covering the chairs. In the hallway, there was some wallpaper peeling off of the wall. You could see mold growing on the wall behind.
I called housekeeping and got no answer so placed a call to guest services. I requested that the room be cleaned. I was told it would be given a ‘deep clean’. When I returned that evening, I discovered that the dead bugs were still on the walls, that the floor had been swept but not mopped, and that the walls were still filthy. My family and I had to continuously wash our feet in the bathtub or wear shoes because the dirt was never mopped off of the floor. We couldn’t even feel at home in our own room.
I would say one of the worst parts of the room was the refrigerator. I purchased $ 290 worth of food items and put them in the refrigerator upon arrival. I made sure the temperature was turned down because it was quite warm. I went to dinner with my family and when we returned to the room at approximately 9pm, we noticed the refrigerator was warm on the inside. Afraid that I would lose all of the food I purchased, I called maintenance via the in-​room telephone. No one answered. I then called guest services three times with no answer. Lastly, I called housekeeping and was able to leave a message for a ‘Stephanie’ requesting someone call back immediately. No one called or came to assist. All of the food I purchased had to be thrown away. On the last day of my stay, I unplugged the refrigerator and then plugged it back in. Finally, it became slightly cool on the inside after a few hours.
I also made a call to the Director of Rooms, Lindsay. No answer (big surprise) so I left a voicemail. It has been two days since I checked OUT of the hotel and I have yet to be given the common courtesy of a return phone call. The hotel was quick to place a receipt summarizing the resort fees ($ 25 a day) that I had to pay, but could not even return a simple phone call.
Overall, I am terribly dissatisfied with my stay at this ‘resort’. Save your money and look for another place to stay, If management cannot even bother to return your several phone calls and voicemails about problems in your room, what does that say about how they value their guests? Book a room at somewhere that does.

I’ve stayed at Ocean edge a few times now and never was the experience as poor as it was this time. It’s unfortunate as I probably won’t be back now. When we first arrived we had an awful room in the Arbor villages. It smelled like mold and did not look very clean. When I called to find a new room I was told that there were none available. I found that hard to believe and pressed the clerk to look harder because I could not stay in the room assigned. He did finally find us a room in the Britterage village which was acceptable but I did need to press him pretty hard to get the room changed. However, the parking situation at these new units was not good. There is very limited parking close to the units and the second closest lot at the top of the hill was also full many times. The only other option was parking very far away or making your own spot by parking on grass or other areas. Second, the service at the Ocean Terrace is awful. For the prices of the food and drink the service should be top notch. We were almost turned away at 9PM on a Saturday by the hostess and while the hostess was «asking the manager» a waitress decided to seat us. Once we were seated we had to seek out and ask our waitress for anything we wanted. She was not at all attentive to our table. Third, the head pro at the golf course is a complete jerk and you should not be advertising this as a golf resort if you aren’t allowing your guests to make tee times. The only tee times offered to me a week in advance was 5PM (which I took). I called every day leading up to this 5PM tee time to see if I could get something earlier and the answer was always the same — nothing is available (with an attitude). When my playing partner and I showed up for the 5PM tee time we expected the course to be packed. We played a full 18 holes in 3 hours 15 minutes and only ran into 1 group of a father and his 10 year old son in that time. How could it have been that busy? Besides the fact that they just wouldn’t give us a decent tee time the bad attitude I received from the head pro when calling and in person was shocking. If this is really a members only golf course which hotel guests *may* be able to play on then you should not advertise yourself as a golf resort. Unfortunately this will have been my last visit to the Ocean Edge as I’d rather spend my money elsewhere.

I love this place! I visit every year and have found the rooms to be very nice and the staff to be helpful. I can’t get enough of the beach and how easy it is to bring my family with out having to lug a bunch of stuff. My only slight complaint is that I couldn’t find a Zumba class on the gym schedule.

Ocean Edge is a sort of resort in Brewster that caters to weddings and corporate getaways. It features a «Mansion» at the top of a hill overlooking the bay with meeting rooms, a ballroom and a tavern. At the foot of the hill are condo-​like townhouses and a tennis court. Inland, across the street about a quarter of a mile away are associated clusters of cottages, a pool and a «Jack Nicklaus-​designed» golf course, LOL.
This place is put together like some guy sketched it on a napkin, wrote a check for $ 30 million and said «Build it.» On the surface it looks alright, but on the inside everything is wrong. The first problem is the beach. If you are in one of the cottages, to get to the beach you have to wait for a shuttle bus, ride in the bus for 10 minutes until you get to the Mansion, walk 150 yards down a hill, then walk another 50 yards on a boardwalk through a swamp. Everything else in the resort follows this basic pattern of dysfunction.
For example, the cottages look nice on the outside and on paper seem wunderbar with their walk-​in kitchens, but once you move-​in, you realize your mistake. Everything is cheap construction. The doors all stick. The walls are made out of paper. Moldings are cheap and crooked. The patio wood is crumbling. The view out the back is of nothing. Electrical sockets don’t work. Every hook, latch and piece of hardware is so cheap they almost break off in your hand.
The lamps are all fitted with 3-​way sockets and 3-​way bulbs, but the switches are 2-​way, so when you turn the lamps on you only get the lowest (50-​watt) setting! I think they must have been ripped off by their Chinese supplier who sold them 500 defective lamps. I had to put two such lamps on my desk so I could even read.
The rooms were also really noisy. It was 72 degrees and perfect all night, but for some godforsaken reason all the air conditioners were running full blast anyway and there was no way to turn them off. By the end of the night I was looking for a fire axe so I could put that goddamn fan out of its misery.
By the end of my trip I was thinking, «Yes, now I remember why I never go to the cape.» It was like that movie «Gravity» with Sandra Bullock where she says «I hate space,» except for me it is «I hate the Cape.» My greatest fear is that after the Chinese invade the US and take us over they will make all the hotels just like Ocean Edge.

I am sure this place is awesome. We stayed in a 1980s like very small apartment here. I didn’t love it at all. I didn’t really even like it, but it was nice to be around this sprawling area. The pool was fun, the Shark Bah was great. The food was ok, the service was great and the drinks were good — but expensive.
You definitely pay a lot to go here but it’s ok. I wouldn’t return to the exact apartment but I’d definitely pony up the cash to stay in a nicer place.

Goes down in history as the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. I woke up every half an hour all night, all week. I’m writing this at 3:30am on day 3. I’m officially grumpy. Between the extra-​firm mattress and the headboard being awkwardly almost a foot from the mattress, we could not keep a pillow on the bed, they were constantly falling between the bed and wall.
I read another review that mentioned vomit and found it really particular that in the public restrooms in the mansion, where our conference was being held, I found vomit in the toilet not once, but three times. Is there a bulemic /​pregnant staff person that just goes around puking and not flushing?
On a good note, it’s a lovely place to hold and attend a conference. We had a deck outside our room which made missing the beautiful weather a little easier. Would have been even better if a rude event person didn’t give a tour to some engaged couple right in the middle of our event. Um, hello? Cocktail parties in the upstairs room with the sunset were beautiful and the pours on the wine were VERY generous.
The restaurant on site had decent food, but I enjoyed my offsite plates better, and a little cheaper. It’s a nice place to sit out and eat though. It’s not «convenient» when you’re staying in the villages since you still have to grab drinks and drive down the main road to get back to your room but they do have a shuttle.
I stayed an extra night on my own dime but had to switch to another room in the village. The beds were still rotten but the AC was SO LOUD, in the new one, like a turbine engine in the room.
Thank gosh the beach is available (although you need to take the shuttle) because that is a pleasant perk.
In the end, I’m glad I wasn’t the one paying for my room for most of the nights. The experience outside my room was very nice, great conference facilities, etc. but sweet mother I can’t wait to get home and get some sleep.

I spent a couple nights here recently. I had my doubts when I found out that we would be staying in the basement, but the room was beautiful and spacious, much to my delight and surprise. When I stay in a hotel, I like to be able to spread out all of my stuff without feeling cramped, and the rooms here allow for that quite nicely. The kitchen was large and came equipped with a much larger refrigerator than most hotels or resorts offer.
There were a few things I wasn’t such a fan of, though; the first one being the lack of technology amenities. The free wifi is terribly spotty. You’re connected for five minutes, then you’re not, and then you’re connected again, but the connection’s so weak that you can’t even check your email. On top of that, the entire resort is a complete dead zone. As soon as you pull into their driveway, all cell phone service becomes completely nil. Now, I know that vacations aren’t all about checking email and sending text messages, but the fact that this entire hotel is pretty much a technology black hole is pretty irritating.
I also wasn’t so thrilled when we came back to our room at around 5 PM after being out all day, only to find that we had to wait because the cleaning staff had just arrived. At that point, I was pretty tired and just wanted to rest for a while before dinner, not stand around outside for 20 minutes. In fact, I found the hotel staff in general to be rather unhelpful. If you try calling the front desk from your room, good luck to you. They don’t usually answer.
But despite all that, the grounds of this resort are beautiful. Definitely a nice place to relax for a few days on the Cape.

What a dissapointment. For $ 300 a night I was expecting more… Good thing it wasn’t coming out of my pocket!
We were booked in the Villages to attend a two-​day conference and also stayed for the weekend. The rooms in the Villages section of the properties (former condos) are ample and well equipped with a nice kitchen, stacked washer/​dryer and plenty of closet space. Too bad it reeked of bleach when I first walked in. I guess no need to worry about proper disinfection!
The worst part… No cell phone reception in the room, except right up against the window, and very spotty and temperamental wifi, especially on my iPad. We had to hold it up and about like an old aerial TV antenna! The wifi would routinely drop off for several minutes.
A few key amenities were missing: paper towels, a trivet or pot holder and detergent would’ve made the kitchen well equipped. And there was no ice in the freezer or an ice machine nearby. The bed was comfortable as well as the pillows. As I saw in other reviews, the linens did show their age with some tears, but only if you look very hard. Nice touch with the six-​drawer dresser, plenty of room to settle in.
Overall, the buildings need some updating and better maintenance. My room’s air conditioner units were loud, and some of the door knobs were in rough shape. Closet doors look original from when the place was built. Some room doors had trouble closing without some effort. The furniture in the living space was OK, but not great. Very small table matched with very big chairs. Also, the placement of the TV, to allow space for the Murphy bed, made it awkward to sit on the couch and enjoy the show.
Outside both the living room and bedroom we had twin private patios with two chairs in one and a chaise lounge in the other. The morning crisp air made it that much nicer to sit outside and relax. Too bad the light fixture was hanging off the wall by its cables.
The bathroom definitely looked remodeled and in better shape. The shower had a bit too much pressure for my taste, and hot water can run out if you like to stay in there a while. The hot water tank is a bit small for a place that could potentially host four adults. The bath items provided were lovely, especially the hair products. My hair is finicky at best, but the shampoo and conditioner worked out beautifully. The lotion was very nice, too, I even tried a spot of it on my face.
Our meetings were on The Mansion proper, and again fell just a little short of expectations in spite of the lovely setting. Lunch was literally in a box, and kind of a boring sandwich with potato chips, though the cookie was nice. Breakfast and breaks were very nice (and better than lunch), with various offerings for every level of healthy eating (or not!). The views from our meeting room and break area took us properly out of business mode. Too bad the weather was not 100% «there» for us. Technology support was good, including solid wifi and conference phone. The chairs were standard banquet issue, and I would’ve preferred something on a swivel to have to sit on all day. Their executive board room has nice cushy chairs, so our first day was more comfortable, though only garden view from the meeting room.
The silliest thing: I was supposed to receive an amenity kit as part of my group’s booking. Not only did they not give it to me when I checked in, but they also neglected to deliver it to my room the next day per the specific request of our admin, who had organized the booking.
I left a comment card with a summary of this at the front desk when I checked out. I’ll update the review accordingly if I hear back.

I got married there in Sept 2012 and the resort and the wedding were great. Our wedding coordinator was also great; however, the service and management is absolutely terrible. (We were the last wedding done by our coordinator and then she left for a competing resort on the cape — we understand why now)
If you do choose to get married there, make sure to read the contracts thoroughly and check your credit card statements afterward as they will charge you for random stuff.

I would like to start this off on a positive note; however… We arrived to find several tissues and vomit in the toilet. A) what the hell?! B) gross. We couldn’t get a hold of anyone so we left for the pool to calm ourselves.
Ok… Now we’re at the poorly skimmed outdoor pool. The manager calls me back after leaving a message. She agrees that vomit in a «clean room» is gross, says to make it up to me she’ll leave us a couple free breakfast tickets (a continental breakfast…) and have housekeeping come and give a ‘deep clean’. While finishing up at the outdoor pool we notice them skimming out a tampon from the indoor pool. Now… Nobody was in the pool when they were fixing the problem so they may have followed whatever protocol they have for… That. But, still… Another A) what the hell?! and B) Gross!
Fast forward:
We go back to the room, find a large string of used floss now between our bathroom and front door that wasn’t there earlier. A) what the hell?! B) gross! Also, we found a half dead bioluminescent bug in the middle of our room after they came back for the «deep clean»…
But also the little stuff:
*no bottle opener in the room?
*the TV remote rattled and was taped together
*$ 10 a day for wifi seemed like nickle and diming, especially given the poor cell phone service in the area.
*they allow lawn games during wedding ceremonies on the front lawn?!?
*Two separate couples checked in and switched rooms from the room below us bc of the condition of the room was unacceptable… avoid the basement rooms apparently
*the fact that when I went to the front desk to pick up my promised breakfast tickets there was nothing left from the manager (at either front desk). The nice woman working the desk pulled two from a large stack and filled them out and handed them over, no questions asked. Not for nothing, I was expecting a hand written note from the manager along with the coupons. Also, for that matter, I was expecting more than a couple free continental breakfast coupons.
I took pics of most of the craziness, I’m just not sure where a good place to post to. Nobody wants to see unsolicited vomit pics while scanning potential hotels… I would be surprised to have something like that happen at a holiday Inn express, or even a red roof inn, let alone a $ 300 night hotel…
The wedding was beautiful, the beachside s’mores were a great touch… but if I were to do it all over again, I would stay elsewhere or maybe give the mansion a try instead.
Also, the terrace restaurant was quite tasty and had a good view (although not so much of the ocean). The prices were consistent with a cape hotel restaurant.
My girlfriend and I are borderline professional wedding guests (in a stretch of 4 in 5 weeks, two on the cape) and we travel all over but never, and I mean never, have I had a resort drop the ball on so very many things.

Many of my clients ask me about having a wedding «down the cape» as us new Englanders lovingly refer to Cape Cod. The Cape can be a marvelous location in the late Spring through early fall for a wedding destination. You will want to research and go to the locations as you narrow down your search as some of the hotels and inns can be quite dated and worn.
With that being said, some may strike you as having character and that is just what you are going for. On the other hand many brides are looking for an elegant and updated or new location. The Ocean Edge Resort and Golf Club is just that. They offer a wide variety of room categories with many of them exceeding the expectation of a «cape hotel/​motel». They have new villas and town houses that are on the waterfront that are spectacular. They have many activities such as golf, tennis, pools and seven a 26 mile bike trail that is a lot of fun.
Even if you are not planning a wedding, any event would be great here for the weekend. A get away with the kids or a romantic weekend with your significant other. The concierge is exceedingly helpful and I would consider this a luxury hotel by Cape Cod standards.

My fiancé and I are getting married at Ocean Edge next spring. We decided we would spend a weekend there to get a feel for the resort and see how the service was.
We were blown away with how friendly and helpful the staff was– down to the cleaning team. Everyone greeted us and made us feel welcome.
We are so looking forward to getting married there!

Would like to give it more but the little things make a difference. First, I will compliment the front desk staff as they were all friendly, informative and seemed caring. Not sure if the same hr people hire front desk and housekeeping — doesn’t seem so. Few understand English which makes it makes hard for the simple stuff; like telling them that they are way too early for room cleanup and please come back in an hour or hour and a half. They seem to think that it is okay to come back in ten minutes, really annoying if you want to shower or sleep a bit longer.
Or asking for a wash cloth, twenty times in six days, and getting a hand towel. There is also a lack of understanding of time at this resort — fifteen minutes can mean anything up to a few hours. Do not believe them when they tell you that your room will be ready at… It may or may not. Have been told since 10:30 this morning that my room is a priority and will be ready shortly– it is now 3:30 and I am still waiting for the room.
The rooms at the villa side are nice but amenities are sparse. If you have a kitchen with a range, fridge, sink and dishwasher, why not provide a sponge, dish soap and paper towels?
A/​C works great and really feels nice to come in from the August heat to a cool dry room. Beds are a bit hard and pillows harder but everything is clean and comfortable.
Will I come back? Maybe. Or maybe I will find a better place to stay.
Okay. Here is the update. We got our key around 4 pm, delivered to us in our first room. Matthew Moore, the resort manager, called and apologized for the confusion and delay and then came to the room to personally pick up the mattress that was left earlier, his words and actions made things right.
We just came back to dinner and found a nice gift of popcorn, nuts and fruit on our counter with a very nice card from housekeeping saying sorry. The housekeeper also left us a surprise in the bed room, a twin swan towel art thing.
All in all, I’d say that the response to our complaint showed that the resort takes customer satisfaction very seriously. The answer to «Will I come back» is a definite yes yes.

Planning a wedding at the Ocean Edge Resort in Brewster, MA on the Cape? Think again. Brides Beware! I recently went there for a wedding for a friend of mine. Let me tell you a little of what you can expect if you choose to go forward with the ill advised mistake of having your nuptials here.
Every worker at the resort I came into contact with was simply unaccommodating. Some of them may have been nice– but it did not mean that my stay with them as a guest meant a bit of difference. They were in some cases deliberately unhelpful. Also, everyone seems to be surprised you are here for the wedding you are paying them to host. It was completely disorganized from the staff side. Some examples:
— I stayed at the resort to ensure I would be on time for the wedding. My room was about $ 350. The wedding was at 5PM, official check in at 4PM. I called ahead for an early check in and they said they could not guarantee it– but to try for it and call them when I left for the cape which I did. I got there and though my room was not ready– they said it would be within 30 min and invited me to have lunch at their restaurant.
TWO and A HALF hours later, I had to pay the cash I brought for the wedding for their restaurant instead of charging it because I was not in the system yet– and went back down to check in… the time: 3:45. A litany of excuses and the time became 4:15– then 4:30– 30 minutes beyond their OWN check in time. My friend’s wedding ON their premises is in thirty minutes– across the resort. I beg them for a different room. I tell them I don’t care if the bed is made. I beg them for any room with a shower and mirror. Finally I get my keys. I pull off a miracle and get myself showered and ready in 20 min (ladies, you know what a miracle I speak of). I had to finish my makeup in the car and go in through a side door just to see her walk down the aisle.

— In the room (not that I saw much of it while I flew through to get ready) they forgot to put a mat in the shower so my boyfriend and I almost broke our necks. There was no rug or floor towel so the rest of the bathroom became a swamp. And they seem to have forgotten amenities or do not provide. Also– though there was no food in the kitchen– there were sugar ants. Great… bugs in the room. Just what every $ 350 dollar room should have!
— The room my friend got married in was off her reception hall. It was a beautiful ceremony marred only by the fact that «Ocean Edge» apparently does not believe in cooling systems. It was easily over 80 degrees in the ceremony room. Not sure how my friend dealt with it in the dress. Not just in that room either… A room she was doing her pictures in before the wedding got so hot that she fainted!
— Then we went to the reception room. Also, inadequately cooled. When her family and guests went to request more AC they were ignored. Sure it was hot out– but it’s July on the cape… GET AN AC UNIT THAT WORKS!
— Hungry for late night munchies? Too bad– this resort has no services for people who want food after 10PM. Bring a sandwich and don’t let the ants in the room get to it.
— The next morning I went to complain and was told, rather abrasively, that this resort runs six wedding per weekend, and they are not surprised by anything we have told them– and that these things happen. Not even an excuse, just blatantly not caring that their patrons are having a bad experience at their place.
— To add even more insult– I found out later that my friend tried to call to complain about the heat in the reception room. The VP of marketing himself said he did not care and there was nothing he could do. He accepted no responsibility and when she brought up the fact that she fainted– he had the temerity to blame her CORSET

In closing– don’t pay through the nose for the location which is the only thing this place has going for it. It is overpriced and staffed poorly all the way to the top. Once your check clears– bride or guest– they will not care about you one bit. And if anything goes wrong on your special day– that is on you and you alone– Not exactly the kind of care you want on your wedding day.

Since the reviewer below me wrote in 2005, this course has had a MAJOR face lift. Over $ 3 million has been put into it and it has been re-​designed by Nicklaus Golf.
It is a course straight out of a Tiger Woods vidoegame, except the condition might actually be better than it would be on your PS3!
You will not find a better nor a more challenging course on the Cape. The price is high compared to Ballymeade (around 110 in season versus 70) but the extra money is worth it if you want a truly magnificent golf experience.
Both Ballymeade and Ocean Edge will leave you satisfied, it’s just the difference between a New York strip and a filet mignon… Ocean Edge being the Filet.
Take a bite with your mind’s eye and revel in the views. They could and should play a PGA tour event here!
