A lifesaver if you travel back and forth to ct and long island. You can basically avoid all the traffic. I wish they a monthly pass for cars for people like me who take alot of trips. $ 53 a ride gets a little pricey.

I’ve bee taking this ferry for years. They have it down to a science. If you’re walking on, you can be dropped off by the warming hut or gated park in a lot about half a mile away. There’s a shuttle driver who will pick you up.
You pay for tickets on board the boat so no need to buy tickets in advance. Just be sure to check their website for schedule changes, especially around the major holidays.
