If I could give no stars or stars in the negative I would!!! This is the worst moving company we have ever dealt with!!! We waited almost 8 hours past the arrival time they gave us and when they finally called to say they were not going to come because they had no room in the truck we lost it. My daughter started to scream and cry since here it was 8:30 pm and we’d been waiting since noon and the woman who wanted to move into the apartment we were waiting to move out of was going crazy waiting to get into her apartment. When they finally squeezed the furniture into the truck, after abusing and dropping pieces-a number of objects we later found broken-they delivered the stuff(2/3’s of the furniture we delivered ourselves earlier in the day so they had very few things to deliver). Once they literally dropped off the objects they charged a ridiculous price! NEVERUSETHISMOVER. Even if desperate!!! Even if you live through the move, you will never get over the trauma of dealing with this extremely unprofessional organization,

Short version: This business does not deliver on its promises. Consumers will not get their stuff for months, and they will charge you substantially more than their original estimates(and possibly extort you at the end). Also, beware that this company pays people to not post negative reviews, so there is likely a lot more complaints that weren’t filed. I did not accept their deal because I wanted all consumers to know that they should please avoid this company at all costs! Long version: I am writing this review to warn all potential customers to avoid Movers Best Price Inc.(a.k.a Houston Movers R’ Us). This company violated their business contract with me and has displayed the worst customer service I have ever experienced. All consumers should avoid doing business with the firm at all costs! We hired this firm back in June to move from Boston to Los Angeles. At first blush, they seemed like a normal moving company. I worked with Ofra Moyal to get a quote for our apartment that seemed reasonable. However, when they came to pickup our stuff we were charged about 70% more than we were originally quoted. They also charge us an exorbitant amount for boxes and tape(they didn’t like the way I packed a few things and insisted I use their materials to pack). Additionally, if they«pack» the materials themselves — like a mirror or a TV — they charge an outrageous amount. While the price increase was painful, the truly inacceptable part of this whole experience was the length of time they took to delivery our stuff. With our Los Angles move-in date on July 1st, Ofra had suggested that they pickup our stuff on June 23rd to give them enough time to drive across country. Ofra had said the goal was to get us our stuff during the first week in July. For three weeks, I called them every week to get a status update on my stuff and for three weeks straight my stuff had not left Boston. Working with Sam their dispatcher was a terrible experience. He was not responsive to phone calls or any of the messages we left. When we were able to reach him on the phone he was unapologetic and just said«it will be there soon». For four weeks, he said it would be there soon. On the contract it says that our stuff will be delivered in «21 days». After 21 days, I called and asked why are stuff wasn’t delivered yet and they said they meant 21 «business days». After 21 business days, I called and asked why are stuff still wasn’t delivered and they said«it was still on its way». When the moving truck finally got to L.A., they tried to deliver our stuff on two consecutive days but never reached our home«due to mechanical issues». I had to cancel a business trip to be there when they arrived. They also tried to get us to pay an extra $ 300 to have a smaller truck drop the stuff at our home. They waived that charge after I threaten legal action. Eventually, our stuff was delivery on August 6, 2013, a full 7 weeks after they originally picked up our stuff. That means that this company took over a month and a half to deliver our property. To make it worse, by their own accounts they still owe me $ 150 for their late delivery. However, in order to even get this payment their owner, Tatiana D., wants me to sign a contract that prohibits me from posting negative reviews about them or reporting them to the BBB. Needless to say, I did not sign that contract because I want all consumers to know that they need to avoid this firm! Please, please for the sake of your sanity and possessions never do business with this company. They are absolutely dreadful and what they put me through should be illegal.

This is in response to the comment: 1. The rate was discounted because I used my student discount — That is true. The other«dicount» they speak of, is a lie. There was no normal discount 2. They only told me they would be late once I called them repeatedly 3. They did not come between 5−6PM. They came at 6:45PM 4. An additional mover WASNOT given to me. I refused an additional mover because I did not want to pay more than I already had to. 5. No maximum benefits. And the guy on the phone was rude to me and unprofessional.
