New England Movers

So I’m back again with another review about these guys. I can truly say from start to finish I have had a terrible experience with these guys. For one they did not stick to the pick up time schedule and came 2 – 3 hours later. 2. Roneni charged $ 200 extra claiming I did not pay for the additional months my things were in storage even though he initially claimed that I had one month free. I’ve attached a picture that explains this. What’s more he would have charged me $ 300 if I did not point out his error to him. And he forgot to give me a refund on that but I made him include it in my storage delivery. But the best part of all this is that when my storage finally came my TWO TV’s and dining table top were missing!!! Like I’m so confused. When I asked where it was they gave me some sob story that did nothing for my questions. It’s been a week since my delivery and not only have they not found it, they are avoiding my calls. One of the associates had the nerve to address a negative review I left earlier. Honestly, if you are considering this company save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere, even if it seems cheaper peace and quality comes at price and it’s usually worth it.

I move from Boston To Huston with New England Movers and I have only good things to said because they did a great job. I’m a grateful and happy person and I believe that the when you are grateful, honest, happy and blessing, only good thing happen to you! And this exactly what happened to me with New England Movers. They pick everything on August 13 and show up here in Houston on August 18Th. Plus I save a lot of money! Thank you very much New England Movers. You are the best of the best. Thank you, Thank you and thank you!

They promised a pickup time when I booked the service and changed it the day before the move. And no one ever called me to confirm the time prior to the move. I had to keep calling them to ask for the arrival time, which is 2 hours later than the time they told me, 5 hours later than the time we set up initially. The service is not professional at all. The company basically contracts with some movers and rent a enterprise truck.
So I called the manager and confronted him about late delivery. Found out that he was the «dispatcher» I was talking to on the move date, no wonder no one called me the day before. The manager called me liar when I was speaking the truth. And he hung up on me after I pointed out all the things he made up. They broke some of my stuff and don’t want to send me the form for damage claim because of this phone conversation. What is that? Running business like gangsters?
I feel bad that I didn’t refer to reviews on Unilocal.They are doing the same thing here disclaiming their bad service/​behavior.

I am contacting the better business bureau about New England Movers. Never should anyone experience this on the day they are moving.
Two weeks ago I got a call from Ken saying that he heard from another mover I was looking so he gave me a quote. I gave my deposit of $ 105 to confirm my appointment. They called the day before asking to change to 9 am and I agreed. 9:30am on my moving day no one shows I call New England Movers and they say they will be there for 10−11am. At 11:30 am I call and they say they will be there ASAP they are on another job and I will be next. I had to be out of my apartment at 4pm. 330pm no one is there needless to say I am furious and stressed with my landlord asking when are they getting here. Ken the guy who originally booked my appointment was nowhere to be found. A lady kept answering the phone with her baby crying in the background. Luckily I have friend who used to work for a moving company and got them to help me last minute. New England movers called at 3:45pm and asked if I could move out the next morning with a discount I said I had to be out today and I had an appointment confirmed for 9am I have the email to prove it. They said they «mixed up paperwork» and I was not in their schedule to be moved. Worst company ever do not book with them they are NOT reliable.

I hired New England Movers for my move on September 1^st. We had many ups and downs within the first hour.
They were supposed to be there between 7am and 8am but did not show up till 9am. This upset me since we had been up since 4:30am so that we could finish packing. Once they got there, they moved REALLY quickly. But, then it started to go downhill quickly. We were told that they could not move my plastic bins because they had no tops and they said that they could not help me set my bed up. I wish I had known this upfront because I would have bought bins with tops. I wanted to use what I had so I did not have to pay more money. The move was already over $ 500 (which is annoying but it was September 1^st) and to me, that is a lot of money for a college student to pay for. Another reason it was too expensive was because I was not moving far. I was moving across the street.
When moving in, they put a hole in our couch and we did not find out till they had left. This company did move quickly but to not tell me all the rules up front, was absurd. I am not sure if I would use this company again. To me, they should have deducted money from my charge once they were running 1 hour late with no notice. All they did was tell me that I had been told DAYS ago that they were coming between 8 and 9am but I had a confirmation emailing stating between 7−8am.

Although i was only involved with the drop off phase i was told that the pickup phase went fairly smooth no significant issues! On the Virginia end things went smooth 1 to 2 calls was all that it required to coordinate the drop off. The movers were cordial and efficient and the move took less that 1.25 hours. Granted i am a flexible person, but i think this move from Boston to Virginia went pretty smooth and i think the price ~ $ 1600 was in line with what we expected.

Worst experience I’ve ever had with any company, ever. We’ve been battling for nearly 5 months and still no headway. They broke 6 Federal Regulations during the move, including not providing an in-​home estimate, changing the price (It doubled) after our belongings were packed into the truck, and not being upfront about added costs. We’ve been yelled at, manipulated, and forced to pay all of the extras to get our belongings, (they were held hostage).
When we finally got our stuff to California, some things were broken, and some things were missing. We tried to work with New England Movers to find our belongings but they were unable to find them, and the claims department they sent us to is no longer affiliated with them.
All in all, huge mess, I would never consider using this company again, and I want to get the word out so that no-​one else has to have the nightmare that I’ve had.

As an fyi, I absolutely never am inclined to write reviews (especially negative reviews) online. I hired New England Movers to ship all of my possessions from Boston, MA to California. This company provided the worst service and communication I could ever imagine for a moving company. I would rather have sold my possessions for minimal value and bought everything new, rather than deal w/​the stress brought on by their service.
They told me my things would be here in 2 weeks, but it took just about 4 weeks. They never reached out to me to tell me that my things would not be arriving; I only found out when calling them the day before they said they would deliver them. They told me that my things would be shipped immediately, but two weeks later, I found out that my possessions were in a random storage facility in Boston, which they never told me about. When trying to contact them to receive updates, employees all of a sudden refused to answer the office phone. When my things arrived, several of my boxes were beaten up, my dresser was missing a leg, and the back of my bookshelf was split. Additionally, they contracted out the move to other moving companies, which they never mentioned that they would do.
My only desire is that people know what they are getting with this company. They were dishonest about nearly every phase of the move and maintained nearly no communication with me throughout the month they held my things in their possession.

After providing me with a reasonable quote, I was about to book through them. I inquired about insurance, and they did a switch to a much higher price (20% more), saying that the «promotional rate» was no longer valid and that their employee was mis-​informed. I am leaving 2 starts rather than 1 because they offered 5% back, and because there is a chance the employee was truly mis-​informed. However, they refused to honor the original quote, and I am concerned that they would have tacked on additional charges later on.
If you look up their address on Google Street View, you see what looks like a residential apartment building. While I can’t be sure they don’t have an office (their employee claims it is an office building), I suspect that they are operating a re-​selling business out of someone’s home without their own fleet (i.e., less reliable). Across the street is Five Point Movers, but they say they are not affiliated. Also, they are NOT BBB accredited (all new businesses get a rating, but accreditation means a proven track record), and they have been in business only since February 2013 (while the original employee told me 10 years, this was discredited by his «manager»).
I do not trust them. However, since I did not actually make a move with them I am leaving two stars. Be careful!

Terrible Move, terrible Service… We moved cross country to California and couldn’t be unhappier with our experience with New England Movers. The owner of this company does not care about his clients and will absolutely increase the price of your move with unknown fees & excessive packing charges… Don’t believe all the 1 star reviews, you should… what else can you say about a company who has Unilocal’s worst possible cumulative rating.
