History
Established in 2005.
In 2005 My House of Magic aka HOM was started by a Magician who use to work in a Magic shop and did children’s party during the weekends. He hired 3 great and passionate magicians to join him.
For four years HOM was purely made of top quality magicians. In
2009, HOM brought in their first clown, Rocky. Rocky had been a professional speaker who had a natural knack for making kids laugh. He was an excellent culture fit; and a big hit.
Having a committed crew of entertainers the demand went through the roof. HOM started hiring anyone who wanted to be a children entertain. However, HOM quickly found out that just because someone said they want to be an entertainer didn’t mean they were going to be of the same quality that HOM’s customers came to expect.
In 2012 HOM decided to let go of 70% of the entertainers and only retain the top quality entertainers. Our vision is clear — To be a small quality company that is clear on its commitment and passionate on its purpose.
Meet the Business Owner
Rocky T.
Business Owner
Rocky used to be a successful motivation speaker and a paramedic for the Fire Department of the City of NY before joining the House of Magic family in 2009. His extensive background in public speaking made it easy for him to speak and manage large number of children. It also helps that in his younger years he was the class clown.
He tells his story like this: «When I came to this country I only knew how to speak Spanish. I desperately wanted to communicate with the other children. One day, I had made a funny face and some children started to laugh. Unable to speak to them, because I had not learned how to speak English, I was very grateful that I had found a language that allowed me to connect with them. And that language was ‘humor.’»
My first children show was to dress like Elmo — I saw the smiles that I was able to generate — and right there and then — I was hooked. I had found my next purpose in life.
