This business appears to have gone out of business. I drove by and the shop is empty, and when I call the number, all I get is a generic voice mail message.
If anyone knows if there is a new address, please advise.

Based upon my experience with my ipod classic i could not recommend this establishment. My ipod classic appeared to have gone dead (it’s about six years old.) I thought it might be the battery. I brought it to these guys. The guy behind the desk simply hooked it to his computer, announced that the computer recognized it, therefore the battery was working at least to some extent, therefore, the problem was probably the motherboard and it couldn’t be fixed. Fortunately I decided to get a second opinion and went to IFIXIPOD on Newbury St. Within 24 hours they had announced it was fixed because they had installed – A NEW BATTERY! These guys may be able to handle other things, but they couldn’t help me.

I went to the Tech Center to get my iphone screen repaired at around 6pm. Although the «standard time» is 45 minutes, Brad (employee at tech center) did it in 15min!!!
Super fast service, great quality & awesome customer service from The Tech Center.

When I first heard about the Tech Center I was skeptical that I could leave my almost completely destroyed iPhone with a bunch of strangers that claimed they could repair the terrible damage I caused to it by dropping it off the window sill from my 2nd floor apartment onto the pavement below. I mean this thing was completely smashed with chunks of electronics busting out of it in all directions and shattered glass everywhere. To my amazement I was able to pick it up the next day and it was (almost) as good as new. These guys are amazing. I know they also fix computers and game systems and I would highly recommend them to anyone I know. They are knowledgeable, inexpensive, and fast. What more could you ask for in a repair shop? Go to The Tech Center!

Me (via email): Can you replace Part X on my Model Y phone, and for how much money and in what amount of time?
TTC (via email): The replacement itself is quick, plus 3 – 5 business days if we have to order Part X. Best to have our techs look at it for an accurate price estimate.
Me (in person): Can you replace Part X on my Model Y phone. .. ?
TTC (in person, after twenty seconds of research): Our supplier does not carry Part X for the Model Y phone, therefore we cannot help you.

The people here are great. They fixed my YLOD on my PS3, and after a few weeks, I was having a fan problem and they looked at it for free. The problems were unrelated and the fan problem was an easy fix (external cooler).
Fairly priced, good customer service, and quick turnaround.

Phone repair? Realy? If you want your working but lose charging port broken to be worst then ever they they can do it. If you want your glass replaced just so they can break the entire phone and blame it on faulty hardware then they can do it.
These are my and my friends experiences one week apart. You have been warned. Stay away.

Bad experience. Brought in my computer because they are super close. Seemed very helpful when I went in and told me it would probably take 2 – 3 days. I called about 5 days later and they said they were struggling with it but they would call me back.
Never got a call, so I called back at 7 days… then 10, then 14. At 2.5 weeks I said, «Hey you guys told me it would be 2 days,» to which the guy on the phone said «Well obviously we are having problems with it» in this obnoxious, rude tone. At 3 weeks I walked in and just took my computer back. It was sitting on the ground collecting dust and the guy said, «Something is wrong with the video card so we couldn’t fix it.» I was furious.
Then walked straight to Best Buy and the guy there plugged it in with me standing there. He also said it was a video card problem but then he just removed it and ran it off the default card instead of the HDMI one. With that the problem went away and the computer works fine. Took him literally 15 minutes to do what The Tech Center couldn’t do in 3 weeks. In fact — it was so easy for him to do he charged me absolutely nothing, said not to worry about it.
Just go around the corner to Best Buy people, lesson learned.

My PS3 had the «yellow light of death» and wouldn’t as much as turn on. Most places I called wouldn’t even look at it. These guys repaired it for a moderately-​priced (won’t go as far as calling them cheap) in a few days. Their friendly, fast and conveniently located. They also have a 10% student discount OR 10% off if you use Unilocal on your mobile phone!

Quick, cheap, friendly, and knowledgable. The Tech Center was great.
I spilled water on my 13″ unibody MacBook Pro, and broke three keys on the keyboard. For unibody MacBooks, the keyboard is riveted to the laptop’s lower casing; the repair involves ordering a new casing and moving the parts to it from the old casing.
When I went to MIT IS&T (MIT’s technology help desk), they quoted me $ 600+ to order the new unibody case and do the repair. They claimed most of it was the Apple unibody casing cost.
But the Tech Center fixed my computer for $ 225 including service. I went in on Friday, they had the part by Wednesday, and they fixed my computer in a couple of hours. Doesn’t get better than that. Knowledgable, friendly staff.
I should also mention that they had a 10% student discount (which I used).

This is where I think Unilocal fails. Please be weary of the negative comments; take Brian M. for example. The only three comments he’s posted on Unilocal have been 1 stars to 3 different tech center locations with the same review. His claims are outrageous anyways; how would a company take two months to respond? No consumer or company would let that happen.
Anyways, I’m writing this passionate review because of the fantastic service I found here. I bricked my Android phone, and took it to some place on Beacon st, only to learn that the phone was not fixable. I took it to the Tech Center just for the hell of it, and they were able to fix it! The end result was that they had to actually replace some hardware (which they conveniently had) in the phone which required some complex soldering. I’m amazed at how much knowledge they have about phones. For me, they fixed the unfixable, and were extremely courteous at the same time. If I ever have phone troubles again, I’ll definitely be going back.
Their prices are also reasonable, or at least cheaper than the other phone places I’ve visited.

Few months ago I went here to repair my laptop which froze and overheated constantly and made whirring sound that got louder. I called other center in Cambridge and Beacon Hill, plus Geek Squad beforehand, and they all said just to get a quote and diagnostics I’d had to pay $ 100, and they estimated the repair cost would be around $ 300. My laptop is almost 4 years old, paying $ 400 for repair is so not worth it.
Called The Tech Center as a last resort, and I couldn’t believe that they DIDN’T charge any diagnostic fee! Turned out my laptop only needed a new heating fan. Few days later and only $ 75, my laptop repair was done, and is now running great. the technician was very personable and no non-​sense. I definitely recommend this place. Forget about Geek Squads and other big centers, they’ll rob you blindly!

Regardless of somewhat friendly service and a air of professionalism that many electronic repair service centers lack, The Tech Center failed miserably in their attempt to repair my XBox 360 console.
My Xbox 360 had the dreaded ‘Red Ring of Death’, which the Tech Center vowed to repair and defeat after their ‘uniquely special’ way of keeping the hardware of the console from overheating — a common cause of the RROD. However, after a month of light gameplay the RROD plague found its way back into my console and is unplayable yet again. Ironically, it was only shortly after the 30 Day warranty of parts/​labor expired that the problem occured, and I am now living in New York so I couldn’t bring it back to them to fix their supposed ‘sure fire’ fix.
Nice guys, bad techies. Fail.

So my 15″ MacBook pro (feb 2011 version) suffered «liquid damage». I’m not going to say what actually happened because it’s REALLY embarrassing, so let’s just leave it at that. Essentially my keyboard stopped working — it would type 3 keys when I pressed one, the volume buttons just went up and down without me pressing them, it was like my computer was possessed. Very, very distraught I brought my baby to the apple store on boylston st to have the «geniuses» check it out. Lied through my ass when they asked if it was water damage. They then told me they would send it to the apple depot for a diagnosis and a repair quote if necessary.
5 days later I get an email saying that in order to repair my screen and speakers (which were fine! No mention of the keyboard ha) it would cost me $ 1240. Hahaha if I had that kind of money I would just buy a new computer altogether (and be a bigger philanthropist?). After some Unilocaling I decided to check out tech center in Brookline.
I took my computer to these folks on thursday 11/​11, they gave me a quote for $ 350 with a 3 month warranty (if they were in fact able to fix it) and 3 – 5 business day wait to order parts, got a call on monday 11⁄14 (less than 3 business days, friends) saying it was ready and I picked up on 11⁄15 for 350 exactly (no extra or hidden fees!) !!!
This is a very expensive and unfortunate problem to have, but these guys really rocked and took care of my computer and have left me with total peace of mind. I am really psyched and have just purchased a keyboard protector and hard shell case (thanks, amazon) so that my drunk ass doesn’t destroy my laptop again. If you have techy-​gadgety problems, go here!

I came here after visiting the Boston (Downtown Crossing) location that was extremely busy and couldn’t take care of my iPhone that day. They recommended I go to the Brookline location. No big deal to me, it was only a quick train ride away. They called the Brookline location ahead of time, told them I was on my way over, and what the issue was with my iPhone. In non-​technical terms, it was something mechanical with way the phone interprets the vibrate-​mode.
The Brookline location is very easy to find, and has great hours to accomodate the post-​work crowd. When I arrived, I was told what was (99% most likely) wrong with my phone, how long it would take to fix, and how much. For half an hour and $ 60, it was extremely reasonable as compared to filing a claim through Apple.
Good news — there’s a bar right around the corner for while you wait!
I came back, my phone was ready and I was on my way. My phone has been working fine since and I was treated in a calm matter. Let’s face it, when something expensive and necessary to us breaks, we are always in a rush to get it fixed correctly, cheaply, and efficiently. This is the place to go!

Sony Support told me that I was out of luck when my PS3 died last month. They would give me the option of sending my PS3 to them and they would either fix it, or send me a refurbished one. They informed me that there was no way to preserve my saved games and logons etc… They told me that my hard drive would erase itself upon removal from the system.
Sony Support is crap.
I brought my dead PS3 into the Tech Center and they had it back up and running within 1 day for $ 100. All of my game information and downloads were preserved.
Don’t look to Sony to help you out if you PS3 dies. Bring it to these guys.
And if you have a couple of months worth of game saves, I recommend backing that stuff up on a memory card. Just in case.

I called The Tech Center to see if they could repair my iPhone 3GS where the screen was no longer operational. They quoted me a very reasonable price so I stopped by and they told me it would be ready in 1 hour. Sure enough, I got a call 1 hour later that they had fixed it. Apparently, they had to try several screens before it worked fully — their persistence and expertise is greatly appreciated as the iPhone now works like new. They honored their price quote and have a tremendous amount of integrity and skill.
Friendly, efficient, effective service at a reasonable price. What more can anyone ask. This is truly a remarkable find.

Earlier this week my girlfriend’s four-​year-​old PC became infected with a new computer virus which disguised itself as virus protection software asking for credit card information. Unknowingly to her and myself we were convinced it was legit. Sadly, within minutes it was obvious it was a virus and repair was needed ASAP.
From personal experience and testimonies from friends Best Buy Geek Squad is a complete waste of money. So I came to Unilocal!and began looking for local computer help. Instantly I found «The Tech Center» located in BROOKLINE not too far away from the iconic Boston Citgo sign. Location and price were key reasons why I chose to come here. Was it worth it? HELL YES!
Simple virus removal with a clear answer why/​how this happened = $ 50.00. The computer was repaired in under four hours! Completely satisfied and would recommend anyone with a computer problem to bring it here. GENUINE, FAST, RELIABLE SERVICE!
