Worst customer service I’ve ever seen. I’m not sure if they are clueless or just don’t care. Came in to get a few watch batteries changed and it’s the neighborhood jewelry store, which I’ve never been in before.
Now I know why they always look sad and empty.
The girl at the counter looked so bored I thought she was going to pass out. I don’t know if she was being trained or she is just the boss’s sons wife who can give a crap about being in the store, but it shows. She summoned the guy that fixes the watches from downstairs, and his people skills were just as poor. While waiting for the batteries to be changed was like being at a doctors office. It was so awkward being in a small space with people that made no effort to talk to you. The girl went back to her stool and just sat there staring at her nails and into space. She would only move when asked by her coworker to hand me back my watches. I asked her to see some wedding bands to match my ring, when I said that one didn’t match, her response was, well it doesn’t match maybe because you need to clean your ring, wow what a nice comment! At one point when I was paying, which by the way took 2 people to figure out how to work the register, she handed me my credit card back by extending her hand backwards and assuming I was there to take it from her, she didn’t bother turning around to face me, I almost started just laughing in the middle of the store because her lack of people skills where that non-​existent. Her only job was to give me a pen, which at first she couldn’t locate until I pointed to the jar of pens at the register. I thanked her and said have a good night, she said nothing in response and her coworker heard and had a nice goodbye and have a good evening response.
What a terrible waste of cute neighborhood store, I was sad and disappointed. I was hoping I found my area go-​to jewelry store, but no thanks.

The saleperson was very rude a few Sundays ago and let my repair slip drop to the table instead of handing it to me. Also, they went ahead and simply repaired my watch WITHOUT providing a free estimate as they had promised. Go somewhere else if you can!

I went in to get a watch battery replacement, but they said it needed a repair. I asked how much it would cost and they said they would call me to let me know. I insisted that they really do call before doing the repair. «Yes, yes.» They said. Of course, they didn’t. I wouldn’t have paid for a repair if I had known it would cost twice as much as a battery replacement. Also, they NEVER open on time. If your hours say 9:30, then don’t show up at 10:15. I will never give them my business again.

It’s hard to find a jewelry place that repairs things well, for a reasonable amount of money, and doesn’t give you shit about your ugly poor people garbage jewelry***.
***yes, I am still holding a grudge toward a jewelry repair place I went to like 2 years back.
THEREFORE I WAS VERY HAPPY TO FIND THIS SPOT A WHOLE BLOCK AWAY FROM MY JOB AFTER I’D BEEN WALKING AROUND WITH TWO BROKEN NECKLACES SHOVED IN MY PURSE FOR WEEKS.
Here are some highlights:
a. They text you when your repair is ready. In my case, this was the day after I dropped it off. If you’ve ever experienced the magic of going to a repair store of any kind to pick something up that was promised to you, only to find out that, in spite of your phone calls confirming the opposite, your shit’s not done and in fact hasn’t even been taken out of the envelope you left it in, YOU WILL APPRECIATE THIS. Oh wow, my stuff is done, AND they told me in a 2015-​appropriate manner even though every jewelry store ever seems to operate on the «hang on to this flimsy piece of paper as I shove your belongings into a rusty file cabinet» system. HOORAY!
7. The necklaces are repaired well, as in I can’t see any weird weld marks or, I don’t know, a huge piece of masking tape. GOOD JOB!
h. The price is right.
32. It’s between my job and the F train. I am lazy. This location greatly encourages this laziness.
.So I wasn’t overwhelmed by friendliness when I walked in; if you actually can repair my jewelry well, for cheap, fast, etc etc, then I really don’t care how pointedly not effusive you are because we’re not hanging out later or anything. Besides, it’s not like everyone can be that amazing shoe repair place in Williamsburg that will get my business for the rest of my life because they are champions of compassion AND shoes.

These people are scammers. Rude. Insane. I was called stupid. And told F U. Go to Azaela on 5^th. Respectful, decent people.

Wish. I could give zero stars. The guy is freaking rude, my presence wasn’t even acknowledged. All of the rings were pretty much thrown into the case and they were all piled on top of each other. Wont come in for anything ever again.

Attempted to get an appraisal on some jewelry. Was given the run around, and lied to, for a full day. I don’t believe this store is reliable or that the people who work there are honest.

Not only does this store sell gorgeous jewelry in every price range and style, they are masters at repairing and remolding everything from watches to rings. Two recent experiences: My eldest daughter, as a young child, made me a clock. It’s a gorgeous little thing, but the timepiece never worked, and I never thought it would. Cleaning a closet a few months back, I found it and took it on a whim to 7^th Avenue Jewelers. A week later, I had the piece back, ticking and working like the best Rolex watch. My daughter, now grown, was thrilled. Then today, I took an old, but timeless-​in-​style, diamond ring to the store. I wanted to take out the diamond and replace it with a red sapphire. They hunted a stone of perfect size, adjusted the ring size to fit my youngest daughter (a complex task because the ring has an unusual shape and required careful molding) and shined the whole piece to a perfect golden hue. Over the years they’ve been in business, they’ve also restrung pearls, fixed watch batteries and done the «routine» jobs quickly and efficiently. Talent, kindness and honesty — that’s what you’ll get here!

Lovely knowledgable staff. Bought a white gold necklace with a matching pendant for my mother. I was confused into what my mom would like but the lady behind the counter dedicated her time into showing me options and gave her advice regardless of the price. She helped me pick out a great piece.

Absolutely love this place! Went with my brother to buy his girlfriend an engagement ring. Nelly who was assisting my brother explained all the different types of rings, and got us a ring for half the price that was quoted a block away from there. You really need to be careful who you go to get your jewelry from. Thank you nelly so much for the engagement ring that you helped my brother choose. They both love it and thank you for the event price. We will be back there again!

I regret getting my ring resized for convenience in location here. They overcharged me ($ 45.00) to make my ring smaller. I asked for a size four and they kept telling me to make it bigger. I know my ring size. After all, they are my fingers. I never got a call. I went on my own time to find out if my ring was resized. It was way too big and he wouldn’t make it a size four even after I told him it’s loose. That old man and his wife are the worst. If they were the last jeweler on earth I’d still never come back,

I wish I had read all these scathing reviews before I took a necklace to 7^th Ave Jewelers to be repaired. I had a tiny missing link on a chain that had snapped. The man that runs this shop said they’d charge $ 40 to find a decent match for the link and reconnect the chain… I thought it was a lot, but also felt that was worth it to me for the convenience and just getting it done.
When I picked up the chain, they said they had found an exact match for the link and I was like, wait you didn’t find any link because I can see that the length of the chain on one side of the charm is longer than the other… you just reconnected the two sides of the chain as is. They said, no, they found an exact link and I felt like I had no choice but to pay the $ 40 for them to do basically nothing but connect the chain in the state that I brought it into the store. The people who run this place are scammers and it’s amazing that they’re still open.

If I could give them a Zero, I would.
#1– my fiancé and I went in it get matching wedding bands. We were quoted a price of 800 dollars. When we went to pick it up, they said that the price of platinum «must have gone up» and tried to charge us $ 1100. After a strong disagreement, we paid 950 which is «what they paid»
#2– the man said he would clean our rings while we were looking at other things. While he did that he said that the diamond in my fiancés ring was loose and offered to tighten it. Sounded like a nice gesture. The next day, we realized that when he tightened the diamond, he crushed the basket that the diamond sat in which was an antique ring from the 1800’s. We took it back to him to fix it and he was unable to do it properly so we went somewhere else and spent $ 275 to get it fixed.
#3– my engagement ring needed to be resized and we asked him to thicken up the band because it was also an antique from the early 1900’s. It is a platinum ring– he thickened the platinum band with white gold which was confirmed to me by a separate jeweler in the neighborhood. He told us it was platinum. So we had to spend an extra $ 300 to have someone else fix it.
PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. THEY ARE FRAUDS.

I bought a white topaz cuff that was gorgeous! The owner and jeweler were fantastic. They offer a 1 year warranty and quickly adjusted the sizing of my bracelet and re-​set a stone for me.

I have lived down the street from this store forever, and go there out of convenience. I have had both good and bad experiences here, but unfortunately mostly bad. I will never go back there for any kind of jewelry or watch repair. Awhile back, I brought a beaded necklace in that had broken. When it broke, I lost a bead and pointed it out to them asking if they could match it. They ignored this inquiry and re-​made the necklace with the missing piece (ruining the pattern). Recently, my son brought a watch in for a repair (also needed a new battery and band adjustment), and they told him it would cost $ 40. I brought it somewhere else and had it fixed for $ 5!
They do have some really nice estate jewelry and if something caught my eye in the window, I would go in and purchase it.

I admittedly had a very simple repair that needed to be done, but they fixed my necklace on the spot and charged a reasonable price. I’ll be coming here again if I need any more repairs.

It seems like they have two business pages on Unilocal,so I am also re-​posting my review.
If I could rate these guys with a ZERO I would, and here is why:
Whether you choose to read my experience or not, I would tell the world if I could to not come to this place. The customer service is terrible and they didn’t treat my jewelry with value or respect at all.
I brought in a brand new expensive ring to be resized. First they said I can come back in about 2 – 3 days and it should be done. I came back 5 days later and they said they need another week. When I finally did come in to pick it up, they gave back to me full of scratches. Even a design on the inside of the ring was scratched! When I pointed it out to them, the woman working there told me «not to make up excuses» and I should «just pay for it». I did pay them, but was very persistant about my ring being scratched up. The guy told me some long story about how my ring is «fake» anyway, which its not!
Now, I don’t care if you insult my jewelry, but whether its fake or real — they should be treating my personal belongings with respect!
After I finally kept pushing him about the scratches, the guy said he can polish it for free. Of course this took an extra day then he told me it would (he said come back sunday, I did, and it wasn’t ready yet). When I picked up my polished ring, I swear it looked like there were black marks FROM A PEN marked on the inside of the designs on it. I pointed this out to him right away, he pretended that it was nothing until I AGAIN pushed him to fix it, which he was able to do on the spot.

AVOID!
This jeweler fraudulently sold me a gold ring with a FAKE stone.
I filed complaints with the Better Business bureau, the Gemological Institute of America as well as the Small Claims Court after I found out.
This business is a fraud, they bait you with discounted stones, but do not be fooled, they are not genuine but will be sold to you as such, with appraisals and certificates.
A FRAUD!

Skip this place. My first experience there, I actually needed to use the notary service ASAP that is advertised in the window. She wasn’t in. They kept telling me to come back in a half hour, then an hour, then later in the afternoon, then the next day. Turns out B of A has a notary service for its customers and I ended up using that.
Second experience: I was charged $ 35 to have a watch battery changed AND then found that they had scratched off the gold metallic finish on the inside of one of the links to see if it was real gold. It’s a cheap Anne Klein watch, people! It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that they just charged me as much for the battery change as I paid for the watch in the first place. Never again!

I went in to get a battery replaced for my beloved Diesel watch that was as I said quite dear to me and also expensive.
I come back after 3 hrs to pick up the watch and the guy is like: OOPS YOUR WATCH EXPLODED!!! I am like W00T?! I look at my watch (it was digital) and see the face cracked and also like an ink spill where the «explosion» occurred.
He said that he just put in a new battery and that’s what happened and I should take it with Diesel which of course I couldn’t do since it was over 2 years old.
I’ve gone there before to resize watches and have never had a pleasant customer experience and after the case of the mysterious watch explosion I certainly will not be back.
