Terrible service! Ordered two dishes, and being that I can’t read Chinese, I pointed at the item. However, he repeated back in Chinese so I couldn’t confirm. Waiter comes back with an unknown dish and says that we ordered the wrong thing because he thought I pointed at something else and then walks away! I am 100% sure I pointed at the correct one and said it aloud in English because we ordered it the last 4 times we’ve been there. We didn’t even touch the dish yet and said it’s the wrong one. The manager didn’t seem to care and offered no solution, just said that it’s a good dish too. What does that have to do with it not being what I ordered? She then goes back behind the front counter. Then another waiter comes over and tries to teach us the proper pronunciation in Chinese and then finally takes the dish back and sends for the correct one. At this point I’m frustrated beyond belief and just take our stuff to go. Also, the restaurant is completely empty! 4 waiters sleeping, watching TV, or reading newspaper. Not another customer in sight. What kind of respectable restaurant tries to stick customers with a dish they didn’t order. Unbelievable. Doesn’t matter how good their food is if I get blamed, ignored and down right disrespected when ordering just 2 dishes! It was only a $ 13 dish. Now they’ve lost a customer forever. Hardly worth it from a business standpoint. Really disappointed.

I want to give it a 3.5, but… there’s no such score! Oh wells, life moves on. As a typical Chinese restaurant, the noise level is only second to a bar. However, the food is good, it’s service is okay, but the best part is watching BRAZIL v URAGUAY next to a TV.(I secretly hope USA wins so I can proudly admit soccer is a cool sport: P) Don’t come in expecting a true four star restaurant tho! They won’t have the usual manners and courtesy necessary to even make you feel like you’re an important customer. But it’s clean and for the price, it’s not so bad… Also, the food is not salty at all! I was thankful for that, but I know a lot of people will think it bland. Even tho, at least, 50% Americans eat TOOMUCH sodium already. But hey, who am I to judge right? Okay so order: Plum pork chop with salt, oxtail with tofu, and the lobster. I’ll skip the soup if I were you. Too much cornstarch in it for my taste.

If I could describe this place in one word it would be: Meeeehhhhhh This is a very average Chinese joint with B grade inspection on the door. The service was fast but the servers do not speak English. So if you don’t know what to order — order«the usual» beef broccoli or whatever. Pros: it is cheap. Lunch time — $ 6 for a decent portion and free hot tea.

we always walked by wondering why is the window of the restaurant always so effin steamy? we could never see in and thus never went in since all the menus are words are in chinese! our aunt had a birthday dinner here so we had a chance to try out the food. it took FOREVER, and i mean forever for any dish to make it out. we literally ate one dish, sat around waiting for the next dish, etc. it was a terrible experience and by far one of the worst family dining experiences. the food was not bad but the wait was so horrendous that everyone was miserable regardless of what the food tasted like! and you know asian families hate when the dishes dont come flying out at the same time??!

One of the finest Brooklyn Mix Chop Suey /Ordinary Chinese Restaurants — I liked ordering fried fish with tofu on the rice. It tastes very good and must eat if you don’t want to eat too much sweet and sour sauces. Price is very reasonable if you want to take away lunch — I ordered sometimes there for lunch. Ideal for those who wanted to stop by for quick lunch and go. Restaurant layout is much fancier than the most other Chop Suey Restaurant. You can sit and order food with peace of mind.

Oh please, I came here with my family before I started Unilocal. The foods were terrible and plates were stained. There was about 2 other families there– it wasnt that busy, can you at least keep the dishes and tea clean? Never again will we ever step a foot in your door unless it’s a different business.

3.5 stars but leaning towards 3 stars. Pros: — cheap — fast service — huge portion of food. it comes to the point where eating outside is cheaper than buying groceries back and spending the time to cook and cleaning up — decent authentic chinese food or americanize chinese food can be found here Cons: — food is really oily(oh well. what can you expect) — they should have smaller tables so that we can have our own space. we have to share a table with someone else. I just don’t really like it. Very low key place that my boyfriend just found out… It’s not a place for you to date but good place to get good amount of food. we went there for their lunch special and it includes — rice — main dish(HUGE) — soup all for less than 6 dollars(CHEAP!!!) They ran out of soup when I went. and it was around 1pm Sunday. So go early if you want complimentary soup!

This is my family’s go-to place for family dinners. It’s casual but we still make reservations every time. Food is decent and affordable. Ask for their recommendations and they’ll tell you what’s good that day.

Dinner was a choice between 86 Siao Chao Wong or Joy Luck Seafood Restaurant next door. My momma chose this place because she wanted to try something new. It was a Saturday night around 7pm when we arrived at the restaurant and man was this place PACKED. We had a good 30 minute wait until a table for 6 people were seated. The food was decent. It wasn’t mind blowing orgasmic Chinese food but hey, what Chinese family restaurant is? I haven’t found one that really blew my mind yet. The lamb chops seem to be a popular choice here. I thought it was just alright. Nothing«amazing». The pork cutlet dish was actually pretty yummy. The veggies were really old and hard to chew. For a simple family dinner this place filled it’s purpose. If you have more than 5 guests, I suggest you call and reserve a table, especially on a weekend night.

I’m not someone who eats chinese regularly… maybe once in 6 months. But once I discovered this place, I ate here 3 times in a row. The menu I had for lunch specials has lots of options, written in English and Chinese most around 5 $. They dont speak a lot of english though, so you may have to go and point at what you want. So far Ive had the beef pepper steak, the seabass in XO sauce, and shrimp w lobster sauce(not my favorite) and also the lamb in special sauce(prob my fave). Everything was great and didn’t make me feel like crap after as Chinese food usually does. This is a good lunch spot on 86th st, and I’d love to try some of the other things on the menu.

If you’re looking for a fancy place to take your date, this wouldn’t be it. The atmosphere is very homey with friendly waters. Delicious and affordable in good portion size.

Came here for dinner several times. Each time I came here, there’s always a wait. They seem to get pretty good business during the dinner hours, not sure about the lunch hours. The décor is a bit dark due to the dark wood panels along the walls. The servers are pretty friendly. The food here are pretty delicious and flavorful. The crispy garlic chicken is one of my favorites. Also, the lamb chops were pretty darn yummy too. Their foods always seem to be pretty fresh and the chef seems to know what he’s doing. Despite the 15 – 20 or maybe 30 minutes waits, it’s worth it for pretty good food.
