I have been to this Redang twice and both times were memorable. The service was quick and the waiters/waitresses were just average. They usually don’t come to you and ask you if you’re ready, you’ll just have to raise your hand and get their attention. I had the Ginger Duck Noodles just because I was sick that day and needed something to clear the sinuses. Even through my sinuses I was able to taste the ginger that was added to the soup. There were a few pieces of duck meat but not much, the soup was good and it just hit the right spot. I also tried their Roast Pork Lo Mee. Definitely one of the delicious lo mein I’ve had and because the sauce was well mixed with the noodles. They also give you a small bowl of noodles to accompany the noodles. The pork was definitely not your average roast pork but it was decent. Overall, good satisfying dishes. What more can you ask for in an average Malaysian restaurant.

*Must Try: Beef Skewers. *Capitan Noodles are delicious, and comes in huge portions. The noodles are hor fun noodles. *Never leave any Malay restaurant without getting the Roti Canai.

Overall the food was good just like any Malaysian restaurants I’ve been to. I order satay tofu, satay chicken, hoilam chicken and egg chow fun. I didn’t really like the satay tofu because the tofu was so big with too much bean sprout and cucumber being stuffed in it that makes it taste weird. I like my fried tofu to be dried. Some people might like the extra sauce on top of it. The service was good.

Not sure if the resto changed owners but so far this has become my favorite neighborhood hangout in Bensonhurst… the malaysian rice noodle is cooked to perfection. The pork & taro root is wonderfully tender & juicy… A+++

Well I’m not that into maylasian food. The food itself was alright. Normal small portions. I wish they gave more chicken and spicy thai sauce with that huge bowl of rice. The service is pretty fast and good. Cheap prices.

This place is not good at all!!! I was with a friend who was allergic to soy and peanuts. We ask to prepare PLAIN and have sauce on the side. It should not be so hard… which tells you they have food sitting back there like buffet deli than rather a freshly prepared meal. Keep on walking and try another place to eat!

i’ve eaten here twice, once with my parents and the other with friends. the first time with my parents, we ordered family style dishes and i believe those were okay. the roti canai was alright, but i’m sure it was like any bad malaysian faking it with thin piece of dough. the time with my friends, i ordered hainanese chicken with rice and the chicken was basically ALLBONES. there was NO meat and such a rip off. i basically ate the rice to fill me up. there are better places, probably nyonya if not a little more pricier?

This joint is about the same as Nyonya, except that it’s more quiet at this one. Prices are similar and food is decent. However, service is so much better at Redang. Curry chicken and hainanese chicken are good. I would go to Nyonya for nicer atmosphere, but don’t leave this restaurant out.

This place is awful, nothing special on the menu and their food is FILLED with MSG. Every bite I take I gulp down 2 glasses of water. Sure they offer you free dessert, bobo cha cha I believe. But who can even enjoy the dessert when your whole stomach is filled with water?! I barely even finished my entrée, since I was so sick from all the MSG. The Hainanese chicken here was plain and tasteless. The curry’s just plain MSG. So if you want to waste your money here and have a bad Malaysian food experience, by all means be my guest.

They recently opened this one near my house in Bensonhurst. In my opinion it’s nothing all too special. In fact the menu looked almost exactly like the menu at Nyonya. The food was mediocre. I felt that the best thing I ordered was the Hainanese Chicken. Their chicken rice tasted just like the white rice. What I did notice and appreciate however was their hospitality. A bit overhospitable as the waitress changed plates for my group about 3 times during the meal, but I’m not complaining. The service was extremely wonderful and the food was good enough. Not really a must try but if you’re in the neighborhood then definitely check it out.
