Specialties

Andrew Stern Photography is a one stop shop for all your wedding and event photography needs. We specialize in wedding photojournalism: and that’s not just the «style» we shoot in– Andrew is a real photojournalist with 15 years worldwide experience. His client list includes places like Harper’s, The New York Times, Reader’s Digest, Newsweek, SAP and The Guardian UK to name a few. Andrew takes all the sensitivity required to be a good photojournalist and applies it to how he approaches weddings. The result not only tells the unique story of your big day, but also produces a set of pictures that are at once beautiful, emotional and timeless.

History

Established in 1996.

Andrew went out on his own and shot his first photojournalism story in 1996 when he was assisting a number of top commercial photographers in New York City who schooled him in all the technical aspects of lighting and photography. Since then he has worked in over 20 countries and been published widely both domestically and internationally. He shot his first wedding in 2006 and since then has built a successful wedding photography business to compliment his photojournalism and commercial work. Weddings for him are a breath of fresh air where he gets to help celebrate and amplify the unique story of each couple through the pictures he produces.

Meet the Business Owner

Andrew S.

Business Owner

Born in Montréal in 1971, photography for me has been a lifelong journey. My parents bought me a dark room set when I was a kid and I’ve been hooked ever since. My work has taken me me all over the world producing major features working alongside world renowned writers like New York Times bestselling author Naomi Klein and former ABC News Chief Middle East correspondent Charles Glass. As a seasoned photojournalist, my work has led me to situations where I have witnessed humankind at its worst and at its best. I covered the Iraq war, economic collapse in Argentina, Hurricane Katrina, ongoing turmoil in Haiti. Weddings for me are a welcome change where I get to quietly take part in a celebration of great joy and bear witness to two individuals expressing their love in the highest way possible as they commit their lives together. I look forward to meeting you wherever your wedding plans take you!
