I love this shop! The prices are affordable and my eyebrows are always on point. The women there know what they are doing! I’ve recommended this place to many of my friends and will continue to do so.

This place is the best and the ladies were the nicest! I had made an appointment to get eyebrows, arms, and henna. They did a great job and I left super happy. And for eyebrows and henna they did it exactly as I wanted. And even though it had gotten past their closing time, they did not rush me out, they made sure everything was perfect. Great experience and great employees!

Amazing! I get all my waxes and threading done only here! She is the sweetest thing ever and the prices are great compared to other places. :)

Ok. So let me start by saying I am EXTREMELY picky when it comes to getting my eyebrows done. I used to get my eyebrows done at a place near Jay St Metrotech. Parking is terrible so I stopped paying tickets to get my eyebrows done (that’s a level of dedication I just can’t commit to).
Eventually I had to move on, so I tried a place in Bushwick where a girl named Dream (her real name was Safaya but she preferred Dream. Idk why) would make me look like a goddess every 3 weeks… she quit. (Silly me. I never got her number. Just assumed she would be there for eternity).
My mother then recommended some place that she likes (in Bushwick also) so I gave them a shot. I didn’t like their lack of attention to direction (poor listening skills… Remember. «Extremely Picky»). After the 3^rd time of them Butchering my eyebrows (side note: my eyebrows are every threading person’s dream. Really thick and they can be shaped very easily. So I’ve been told. Now back to your normally scheduled review reading) and after being told that I didn’t have «arching eyebrows» when I asked her to arch them. –_​_​_​_​– I decided to say forget that place and just let my eyebrows do what they wanted for a month. A WHOLE MONTH!
Eventually I came here, to a trusted source of Unilocalers and low and behold. I found Awesome Threading Salon. I walked in today (a brisk winter eve, approximately 6pm with no customers in sight) and was greeted cheerfully by Goldie (see other reviews of her awesomeness). She was very attentive. She gave her recommendation and I let her try it. I gave her a little more direction and she followed (having me mirror check after each change) until it was to my liking. I don’t know about the other services, yet. But if you’re looking for a place to get you’re eyebrows done the way you like. See Goldie at Awesome Threading Salon! Thank You Goldie!!!

I found this place through Unilocal and I haven’t looked back since. I am from Howard Beach, now living in Brooklyn, and needed to find a new eyebrow place. After looking at all of the Unilocal reviews I had to come check the place out for myself. The first time I was here, Ruby took care of me. She was great, as all of the reviews say. But since then, I haven’t seen her! I must come when she is off but no worries for me because GOLDIE has been taking great care of me.
I have been coming to Goldie every 2 weeks for my eyebrows and she has been nothing but professional and very sweet. I always flinch when I am getting them done and she will ask if I am ok, always concerned and wanting my experience to be a good one. She has a soft voice which is very relaxing and I like how she sometimes has her music playing because it is relaxing as well.
Overall, great place. They don’t call it «Awesome Threading» for nothing!

I believe her name is Gloria but she did a tremendous job! Both ladies were extremely knowledgable and pleasant! For sure my new eye brow go to place! I got my eyebrows tinted as well as shaped.

I found this place based off of reviews and I’m happy I gave it a shot. It’s a 15 min drive for me and it’s well worth it. She does an amazing job on my eye brows!

I have been coming here for eyebrow threading, but today I came in for a Brazilian wax using the organic wax. I must say that the atmosphere of the salon may throw you off (as one Unilocaler mentioned the dirty floor in the small wax room) but the service is impeccable. My wax was quick, painless, and on point. I’ve always gone to European Wax Center but this place gave it a run for the money! Goldie usually does my eyebrows and today she did my wax today. See for yourself.

Inexpensive, fast and friendly service. Goldie asked me several times if I was liking what she was doing while threading my eyebrows, and told me what part of one of my eyebrows needs to grow in, which was very helpful… considering the last place I went to (my regular place in west village) messed one up, and no one in this industry really ever asks me/​gives advice. Thanks, Goldie! I will make this my regular threading spot without a doubt.

This place is my new favorite the threading place to go. Not only do they do a good job with my brows and they have reasonable prices. The staff is very friendly and attentive .

Love this place so much! Was looking for a henna place and found this on Google! They are so sweet in there and it is wheelchair acessiable ! Henna was done so well! She is so talented and I also got my eyebrows threaded and she did such an amazing job! I want to come back every week now for henna haha ! Also have very cute jewelry that I bought!

My eyebrow lady left me out of nowhere. And this place did a great job, not too thin, not too thick. And they did my henna which came out beautiful too.

My main reason for coming here was because I was interested in getting a henna but permanently. I’ve had henna before and was always in love with them. In some Caribbean cultures their quite popular which explains my love for them. Ruby did my henna it was pretty good expect for some small detailing which could have made the henna better. The reason for the three stars however is because I made an appointment and upon arriving was told Ruby won’t be in that day. Not a call to cancel nothing, which almost made me never wanna go back. But clearly I did, and she also informed me that the first Saturday n August that she’s doing free henna, so guess what I’m definitely going back for my freebie.

After a terrible eyebrow waxing at an establishment I shall not name, I decided it was time to find a new place. My friends and I have been hopping from different salons, even to the point of scheduling our hangouts according to our eyebrow grooming schedule! Eventually, we got busy and weren’t able to coordinate, so I just decided to go on my own. After looking at places on Unilocal,I saw a friend’s review for this salon and decided I’d check it out. It was only a block away and figured, if they do a mediocre job, I guess I’d just be paying for convenience.
To my surprise, the salon exceeded my expectations! This gem of a place opened up about a year or so ago and I’m upset that I hadn’t known about it sooner. I’ve been here about 5 times already, even brought my boyfriend to get his cheeks (overgrowth from his rawrrr beard lol) threaded. Goldie and Ruby are such nice ladies, and do a very thorough job! They fixed my eyebrow snafoo from the previous salon I went to, now my brows are super fleekin’ haha.
Hoping to become a regular here. No, I don’t hope. I KNOW :)

I absolutely recommend this salon! The ladies are lovely and are great at their job. I had a full leg and Brazilian wax with organic wax that made it one of the least painful waxes I have ever done! Had threading done to my eyebrows for the first time and I explained to them that I’m very particular with my eyebrows and was worried that they’d remove too much but of course I’ve never had prettier eyebrows than right now thanks to them!
The prices are also excellent so again, I truly recommend this lovely salon!

Quite frankly, there’s nothing «awesome» about this place, except for the fact that they take credit cards.
I was in the area and needed my underarms waxed, so I popped in after calling and finding out that you didn’t need an appointment. When I walked in, there were two women working — they were both threading the same woman. It looked as though one of them was struggling with the threading, which wasn’t reassuring, but whatev.
After waiting 15 minutes, I got taken to the waxing room, which had dirty floor. As I’m taking my shirt off, the lady asks if I want organic or sugar wax. Now, my normal threading/​waxing lady has both, and they’re the same price — I guess because she’s good like that, but whatever. So, the lady goes through the different benefits of each, but keeps coming back to «organic is better.» Had there been a price difference stated (or even one listed outside on their price list), I still would’ve gone with Organic, but there wasn’t so, it was whatever.
Then, the most painful waxing experience ever. Normally, there’s like four strips, and they’re done. She went over each underarm at least 15 times, and didn’t even get all the hair. She didn’t get the part on the upper arm that always has a couple, and she didn’t even get them all from the main area.
Then, to make matters worse, the remaining hairs are broken, and I can see hairs in the follicles in some spots — letting me know she wasn’t waxing correctly, and snapped the hairs at the follicle, rather than pulling. BS.
Oh, but don’t worry because when I stepped out to pay, she told me it was $ 20 — $ 10 more than the listed price. When I inquired, she stated that the price difference came from using the organic wax. I explained to her that I should’ve been informed early on that this was the case, and not after my wax. She looked at me with a blank face, then after standing there with a look of disgust, she cut it down to $ 15… NOT EVEN WORTH THAT.
I will definitely not be back. I don’t mind paying more, but be upfront… not sketchy about it.

I’ve been here a few times and they’re pretty on point for threading — and one time I showed up they were celebrating… um… I think the shop’s anniversary? Anyway they were giving out free henna tattoos (hi, I’ll say yes to anything free)(ok, MOST anything). Mine turned out beautifully, and lasted quite a while in spite of me being a weirdo who washes her hands constantly.
The ladies are very friendly, which is a bonus. My only minor issue is the up-​sell — I understand that’s how business works but I can’t imagine many women who just LOVE unsolicited offers to deal with their mustaches. I mean, ladies who rock a mustache would probably not want it removed, and ladies who feel pretty secure in dealing with their own mustaches DO NOT WANT TO BE TOLD THEY HAVE MUSTACHES IN NEED OF HELP. At least I don’t, but that’s because I’ve been so paranoid of rocking the Martin Mull* look that I take extreme measures to NOT rock the Martin Mull look, thank you. I mean hey, if you can’t read the large signs in the shop and don’t know you have a huge mustache that you would rather not have, perhaps this up-​sell is awesome for you personally. That was a long tangent, thanks for sticking around.
So TL;DR = friendly, thorough, inexpensive, but the up-​sell sort of kills your look-​at-​my-​on-​point-​new-​brows vibe.
*No offense to Martin Mull, who is a truly talented actor, painter, and mustache owner.

I’ve been coming to this place for a few months now for a Brazilian wax. You don’t need an appointment most of the time, they always have somebody free for you which is perfect, don’t need to worry if you are gonna make it on time, just go.
They now have organic wax for 45 $ and it’s nice light blue color, Ruby does it super fast and not painful, takes me like 15 mins to be done.
They also give you a little card where you mark your visits and the 10^th one is gonna be free, little thing but nice.
I wish I had eyebrows so I can do threading there too!
Definitely planing on getting a henna tattoo, they look amazing!

I have now been here three times and you guys should go too so that Ruby is successful and I can keep going here! Awesome Threading really is great. I have gotten my eyebrows threaded three time and a regular bikini wax and a brazilian.
Eyebrow Threading: Amazing. One time a cashier apologized for staring at me but she had to know where I got my eyebrows done because they looked so good. I was more than happy to recommend Awesome Threading.
Bikini Wax: 1^st time I did a regular bikini wax. $ 20 for the special sugar wax. This last time I did a brazilian with the organic sugar wax. $ 45. Totally worth it. It was the least painful wax I’ve ever had. Totally worth it. The back waxing room is a little cramped but worry, service it really great.
