Love this place! The receptionist and technicians are very friendly and do a good, thorough job. And they offer you wine to enjoy as you’re getting your nails done! I didn’t get any nail art, but I saw a few women getting the service, and they take great care in each design. They also let you try some of their in-​house lotions, but they don’t pressure you to buy. Chicly decorated, reasonably priced and dog-​friendly! I made an adorable, four-​legged friend that rainy Sunday. I deducted one star because they only do a dry manicure. I get Shellac, which tends to get brittle without a bit of a soak.

They do great nails, no doubt. Most beautiful ambience and interior I’ve ever seen in a salon (at least I’m the ones I go to). HOWEVER, the quality and experience is just as good/​bad as in any lower price range salon. My stylist was Nima and while she was very nice, I did feel very rushed through the process. She used the motorized file on my very sensitive naturally thin nails and didn’t pay much attention to me telling her that they hurt. A good nail artist ALWAYS uses a regular file on natural nails. Also I didn’t see a new file set being opened for me and she used my file to shape the nail of another client who just came back to fix her nail. Not so sure if they should do that at these prices. My impression is that this is place is run by the same people who own all other salons in other neighborhood. Same people working in there, same skills. They just made it look more fancy so they can charge more. Won’t be coming back, not worth the price, but my nails look dope.

My first few times here were fine.
Unfortunately, the past few times were not. I really wanted to like this place because its in my neighborhood and the space is beautiful.
My original tech wasn’t available on the day of my appointment. Fine. Things happen.
The tech I had cut my thumb so bad it wouldn’t stop bleeding for most of the manicure. There was also a bubble and a huge spot on my pointer finger that she missed. Not a big deal. I don’t like to be a diva about these things. However, when the nails started chipping not even two days later I wasn’t impressed.
The «quickie» «gel» manicures are a joke.
Over 30 $ for a «gel manicure» that doesn’t last more then several days. The point in spending a little extra on a «gel» manicure is that they are supposed to last longer? The second day I had them they started to chip. I emailed them when I returned home for the weekend and the owner told me they are guaranteed for 5 days. She said I could come to have them fixed but never responded when I asked when.
Within a week of having them done the only remaining part with nail polish are the tips.
My pedicure is also chipping within the week.
I’m extremely disappointed. I hate to knock a local small business but for the prices they charge I can’t even believe the lack of quality. I don’t even think the nail polish that they use is waterproof.
Also, if you purchase a «quickie» manicure you get an extremely limited selection of polish to pick from which I also find to be absolutely absurd for the price.
Save your money and go somewhere that uses polish that doesn’t chip after a day or two.

I really wanted to like this place but just disappointed for a $ 16 regular manicure. I do usually spend less than that but wouldn’t have minded if it was worth it! It’s less than 24 hours and they’re already peeling. The top coat she put on was so thick that it was dropping into my cuticles and it’s now peeling. It’s also peeling from from the edge of every nail. The place is very clean and the people seem sweet but I just wish I liked the manicure or that it was going to last me at least 2 days! And I see people commenting about wine, I wasn’t offered/​didn’t see any!

I have been here several times. The ambiance is great. Very Bushwhack vibes, relaxing music & nice décor. You can make appointments online, which is convenient. They also have complimentary wine and lemon water.
They have Smith and Cult nail lacquers available to chose from, which are very high quality. The colors are super vibrant and look amazing. Several people have asked me if I am wearing gel — nope, just regular polish. They also sell bottles of the polishes. I bought a nice electric blue color and used it on my nails at home — it lasted a full week without chipping or looking ragged.
Yesterday, Yang did my pedicure, and although I always get pedicures when I come, this one was especially great. My feet are on the wider side, so because of the way most shoes fit me, they can get a little rough. Yang had awesome attention to detail and really took her time and made my feet nice, soft, and pretty! Sometimes pedicures can feel a little rushed and you have to constantly watch the person to make sure they pay attention to every area of the foot and don’t miss anything — it can take away from the experience, as I’m generally trying to relax and not have to manage someone and make sure they do their job. This was definitely not the case. Yang was ver thorough with the buffing, exfoliating, cuticle removal, and doing a neat job with the painting, without having to be asked. I even got a hot stone massage!

I so want to like this place. Staff is kind, it’s pretty, there’s wine but damn did I get a bad manicure. Bubbles in the paint. Not smooth. On every finger. So disappointed. Actually the worst manicure I’ve ever received. Maybe I came on a bad day? Read that heat can cause bubbles in your polish… There’s no AC. It was 88 degrees. Whatever the cause –my nails look rough.

Made an appointment for gel mani/​quicki pedi at 1:30pm. Arrived EARLY, was serviced late. I was accommodated with a glass of wine or two. technician I reserved was unavailable — another tech did my quicki pedicure (SO FABULOUS!!!). I had to wait over 30 mins for the next available tech to service my gel mani, but nothing was communicated to me until I spotted my reserved tech finishing a walk-​in who arrived after me. Beautiful spot, poorly managed. Disappointed.
UPDATE: Was offered comped pedi for the extensive wait by Nima. #Winning over the customer. My day is much better. THANK YOU.

I found a LivingSocial deal for a $ 15 bikini wax at this place and signed up for a 1:30pm appointment. I got there around 1:15pm and by 1:45pm, was still waiting to be seen. I stepped away to make a phone call and by the time I got back, the person who came after me had gone in before me… At this point, it was 2:20pm and I had waited over an hour for a waxing appointment which should have taken 15 minutes and I should have been out the door by 1:45pm. It was quite frustrating.
But when I was finally seen, the waxing was so painless that I was SHOCKED. They use hard wax and each time I thought a chunk of my hair getting pulled out was going to make me scream, it didn’t. The lady who helped me was also extremely easygoing and made me feel very comfortable. I would absolutely come back again for their waxing service.
In exchange for the long wait, Local Honey offered up one of their services as complimentary and I opted for a classic pedicure. This was amazing… Yang did my nails and she was the sweetest lady. I would definitely recommend her if you go here for a pedicure. The pedicure process was incredible. After cleaning your nails, they exfoliate and moisturize your skin with their organic skincare products (they use a lemon slice as an exfoliating scrub), massage your feet, move a hot stone around each foot up to your calf muscle and then wrap your feet in a warm moist towel. Never have I had such a profoundly relaxing pedicure experience! I’m definitely bringing my girlfriends here :)

I love my nails and I love this place! Everyone was super nice and Nara did an amazing job on my nails. He is detail oriented which makes the entire experience a calming one. He constantly double checks his work and actually restarted with a nail because HE wasn’t happy with it. My entire experience was an enjoyable one! Even though Nara was running a little late the receptionist made sure I had water, I picked out my color, and even suggested great nail art that pertained to my manicurist. I highly recommend this place and will be returning WITH my girlfriends :)

:(I was really hoping this would be my new go-​to spot. The location is not so easy to get to by train or bus, but the space itself is very clean and beautifully decorated.
My boss treated me to a manicure and refereed me to Laxmia.
I waited 10 mins before the receptionist noticed me. She was getting her nails done at the time. After she greeted me I was offered wine, which was great! I waited another 10 mins before someone started on my manicure. It was not Laxmia, who I made my appointment with. The nail artist who did my manicure was too fast and cut the cuticle on my ring finger twice! All she said was oops. I have never had my cuticles cut during a manicure and was shocked on how cavalier the artist was.
While I was getting my nails done she couldn’t find the right gel polish I wanted because nothing was labeled correctly. I was offered more wine only to find out they ran out of wine! They tried to offer me a glass that was on the table near the waiting area, claiming no one had drank out of it. I had to tell them that YES, someone did and I was sitting next to her… The receptionist offered me a Stella or if I wanted more wine she would have make a ‘rine wun’ (wine run) which is when I realized the receptionist was drunk at 3pm on a Sunday…
Overall… not a great experience. Staff is unprofessional, the wait time was stupid for how little people there, and the prices are steep– $ 16 for a regular manicure which doesn’t include lotion or a massage. $ 32 for a gel mani with lotion and massage.

So I came here today for my birthday just to get a gel mani and design on top! They’re amazing. They hooked it up and gave me a free design which they’ll normally charge for and a free hand scrub. Sarah was a sweetheart and massaged my hand for free and took her time with my nails until they were perfect. even suggested what color I should because I’m, of course, indecisive. Thank you for making my birthday awesome. Oh! And they give free wine ;).

Local Honey offers manicure, pedicure, massage, and waxing services in an upscale, spacious environment by local dedicated beauticians. I came in for pedicures today with my friend. Every aspect of the experience exceeded our expectations. Here are some reasons why I loved my pedicure:
1. We were offered wine upon entering. WINE. I had 3 glasses.
2. The pedicures included an exfoliating scrub, relaxing lotion massage, oil treatment, AND hot stone massage. Wow. Definitely well worth $ 30.
3. Great selection of designer nail polishes
4. Yang was awesome. Very talented manicurist who was really fun to talk to. She made sure my friend and I had a relaxing and fun time.
Local Honey is an excellent addition to this area of Bushwick. All credit cards are accepted, but bring cash to tip!

Came here yesterday for a classic honey gel manicure. Loved it! Ashley at the front desk was great! She accommodated me even though I was late to my appointment. I had Nala (spelling?) do my nails and he was awesome. I hadn’t had a gel mani in years so I asked a lot of tedious questions, but he didn’t seem to get annoyed and kept it professional, which I liked. They offer you water, green tea, or even beer during your service which is much appreciated! Oh and the music they were playing was on point! Chill vibes all around. Will def come back! My nails look so cute! Thanks guys!

It is a great space although it seemed much smaller than the pictures make it seem. I had a groupon so my gel mani was only $ 16.
Pros:
–drinking wine at 12pm
–so many color to choose from
–gel lasted a week and would have lasted longer had I not moved
Cons:
–felt kind of rushed, my nail tech left to go work on someone else in the middle of doing my nails so someone else took over, strange experience. It was pretty off putting because I just felt like I was dumped onto someone else.
–first time my nails weren’t soaked
I would go back but it’s so far from me now. If you’re close by, definitely worth checking out (especially if there is still a groupon available ;))

Like a bad relationship I just keep going back hoping it will be better. A few days shy of two weeks ago I went and had a «almost brazilian» and gel manicure.
Lydia is nice and I appreciated her services. I found her to be a little shy which made me feel a little shy (and not super comfortable) but can’t win them all. She did take her time and I believe truly did the best she could but the hair that was left was crooked. It happens very often with waxers so I can’t really complain that much. It was not horrendous by any means but I did notice it (maybe no one else could including her!). In a pinch I would go back to Lydia.
What I wouldn’t go back for is the gel manicure. It pealed off in under two weeks. Normally my gel manicures (gotten off the Graham L stop) last 2.5 weeks on average. Again around 2 weeks is typical for gel so I can’t really complain. I DID notice afterwards were my cuticles were not trimmed well. They trimmed my cuticles dry and therefore I believe it was hard to trim off all the excess. Also, the nail polish did not go fully down to the base of the nail making the manicure look grown out in a week.
The people are lovely and so is the atmosphere but here is the thing: if you are going to charge top dollar you have to back it up. The cost benefit to me is not here. I can take a 5 minute train ride and pay half the price for the same if not slightly better.
Something has to give for this business to be successful long term: either step up quality control and instill standards OR decrease pricing by a few dollars.
I recently read in Brooklyn magazine this place opened in a response to the lack of nail salons in the area. That is totally true– there is a big need for a clean, comfortable and friendly place. That is why I was so excited when I saw it opened. That said being «the only one in the area» will only keep customers coming for so long (initial honeymoon phase).
Overall my take on it is just as the three stars say: mehhhhhh I’ve experience better.

Oyeeeeee. Okay I went back on the owners recommendation and while the treatment was fantastic– the truth is their products just aren’t.
They use some seaweed gel base and topcoat and it honestly lasts a very short period of time. Got them done Thursday and today (Monday) one nail is broken and two are peeling.
Just not typical of gel. It’s their «healthy» route but honestly is just ineffective. It’s a soft gel– and you can literally «peel» it off. Or your daily life will.
Won’t be returning.

Was in Bushwick visiting a friend and we decided a girls day out was in order. So we went and got our nails done. Loved it. I got a permanent French with a beautiful little design by NIma and I think you’ll agree it’s gorgeous and I had a beautiful time and this nail technician was really top notch.

I love this place! I like to try and keep my nails up and after living in BK for about 7 months, this will be my go to place. I tried out a few places and did a test between my 2 favorite. I got a shellac manicure from here and it lasted for the full 2 weeks and got so many compliments on how good my nails look even after 2 weeks. I then went to another place in Williamsburg (about the same price) and it lasted just a little over a week and did not look good at all by the end.
I will say it is not your typical nail salon and has a very cozy, homemade feel to it. Which I personally really like. I also got my eyebrows waxed which I considered a success. I

After living in BK over two years, I have finally found a nail salon to call home lol. Local Honey is neat and posh. The décor is modern chic, yet very inviting. And the staff is amazing! Not sharing my faves, as I don’t want you all to take up their time and make it hard for me to see them lol.
I enjoy the Honey Gel Mani and the polish selection is off the chart! I will be coming here for as long as I live in BK!

We needed this so bad. For a decade I’ve been trekking into the city to get my nails done. We have tons of nail spots, but they all suck. Nima (sp) did a great job. The place is super nice. It’s about twice the price of my place in the city, but well worth it to not have to trek into the city.
