Convenient to the Dyker Heights Christmas lights. Food was pretty good. Had better, but certainly had much worse. Place was packed so the service was underwhelming. Not sure if they’re grossly understaffed or just don’t care about you. Would not go out of my way to come here, but if you need a place in the area at least the food is good and wine is cheap.

This place is atrocious. Shouldn’t even be open anymore. I can’t believe the transformation that had taken place in the last five years. They feel they can overprice every item on the menu just because it’s a family owned establishment. Hopefully customers will begin to take notice with the TERRIBLE quality of service and the OBSCENEPRICING. DONOTBRINGYOURFAMILYHERE.

Horrendous service. The staff doesnt come over and check on you, you basically have to flag them down. however the pizza was good. For me personally not worth the wait for a brick over pizza

Great place located in the corner of Dyker Heights. Good food with reasonable prices and friendly staff. I enjoy coming here and would recommend to others.

The penne Bella Luna was excellent. Basically everything I’ve ever tasted in here gets 5. I always used to pass + see this place packed. Now I know why… the prices are even pretty decent.

Got into the restaurant about 7:50pm gave the app. order about 8:00pm still did not get it. Had to ask about 8:15pm. Let’s see how the rest goes. Got food first. Was told that she forgot to put it in. She said she did not hear me. The food did come out hot. Now let’s see if the right thing is done. Got the check and they did not do the right thing

We recently moved to the area and this is already our favorite dinner spot. So far we’ve had a few different pizzas, the mini ravioli with pink sauce, and rigatoni bolognese, and they were all great. Also, the mozzarella carrozza is to die for. Desserts are good too – I like the almond tartufo. Staff is friendly and service is quick – we’ve never had a wait no matter when we showed up.

Hadn’t been there in a while, used to be good. Took friends there recently and all four of us found the food to be bland. Service is ok.

Came in to have a lunch with my family on Mother’s Day. I was given a limited menus. Kids wanted to get pizza and they refused to serve pizza for kids. For a place that wasn’t busy on Mother’s Day, they refused us. I will never set my foot in there again.

Food is pretty good and the prices are even better. My only issue is that one of the waitresses(i think she’s in her mid 20s) is kind of rude and cold. That should be fixed.

Just had the worse experience ever, I order from here a lot and never had a problem, Tonight I waited an hour and a half for delivery, spoke to the Manager who was the most nasty ass unprofessional person I’ve ever come across, no wonder they can’t keep staff

On a Friday night you would think they would be properly staffed, but NO. Understanding the lack of staff is one thing but service was TERRIBLE! I will give the owner/manager credit for taking Grandma’s pizza off the bill because the pie was not crispy like a brick oven pizza should be. We explained our disappointment that pie was soggy and she did the right thing! The calamari was excellent and so was the broccoli rabe. Sangria was decent. The noise level was unbearable and I requested room change in order to stay there. I don’t think I will return.

Food was acceptable. Light lunch consisting of an order of meatballs(2) with a side of Broccoli rabe. My friend has an order of sausage with the same side. As said previously, food was acceptable and the service was so-so. Had to ask for water refill. Waitress while competent was cold. She looked as if she didn’t like smiling. She said and did all the right things but coldly. Who knows, maybe she had a bad day.

«Meh, I’ve experienced better» is correct. The place is unremarkable. So much so that I don’t even remember what I ate. It was a pasta dish that was flavorless clearly, and probably made in bulk. The staff is either absent or rude, I don’t care for it.

The positives – 1. The sauce is a very good northern italian peasant sauce. A less chunky sauce. I’m always a big fan of the sauce. 2. The service is always always always pleasant. They are quick and never give any issues. 3. Pizza is very good. It’s a great grandma pie, and can’t say enough good things about it. Dough is fresh, cheese is perfect EASILY a 4 star pie. I’d have it every time, and make it a suggestion for a perfect date night meal. Perfect! 4. Parking is super easy(could usually get free parking within a block). Yes, it’s a plus in Brooklyn! :) The negatives – 1. Ordered soda without ice(which I normally do, due to the fact that I feel the carbonation from the soda fountain chills it enough. Also not a fan of how some restaurants maintain their ice machines.), and the waitress didn’t tell me it was out of a can so it was indeed warm. It was my fault, and I didn’t mind… however if you’re like me be forewarned. 2. Bread… sub par crustini or hard italian bread. When you’re pizza dough is sooooo good, and fresh, why not the bread? *shakes head* 3. I’m a chicken francaise fan, and I do order it from here often. It’s filling, and it’s a good 3.5 star chicken francaise. My complaint is this though, very bitter. The lemon sauce needs to be cut just a little bit. Just a hair. Also I do believe that getting it over a bed of pasta helps absorb some of the bitter tone that the francaise sauce has(yes I know francaise sauce is a bitter lemon sauce, HOWEVER this one is a hair TOO bitter for my taste). You must request the chicken over a bed of pasta though. It traditionally comes with a potato croquet. It is an amazing croquet, and very fresh, however the pasta is needed. Other than that, this is a perfectly acceptable Italian eatery in the area. :)

The grandma pie is very good. I used to like their regular margarita pies, but the grandma is way better. I order there often. It’s been really good and consistent.

Very good thin/crispy crust pizza and serviceable italian basics. But it’s really all about the pizza. There’s a pizzeria on every corner in Bay Ridge but most don’t make very good pizza. You can always get a table though the wait staff seems a bit burdened at times. Nice place.

I already wrote a review once before for Bella Luna around 2012, but my Unilocal account fell off, so here we are again, at that time I even got a thanks for it. Bella Luna – the bar is my place to go on a Sunday night, not to make a habit since I have to work 9 in the morning. the crowd is the greatest, I will be here most likely before Easter for a cold one. FYI the food is great, I knew that long ago, best place in town for parties. .

+ the pizza was good — The tables are too small. — The wait for pizza was too long. — The desserts were frozen cold. Frozen is not good for… cake — The table was messy, we had to wait for it to be clean and change of plates, as we had appetizer and to pizza. I only go if I were in the area, but would not go out of my way to go there. I won’t recommend, not with all the great places in brooklyn.
