Bellatonic is a unique musical project (a jazz band that plays pop covers) and specializes in Private Event Performances. We help people create the most exciting and memorable experiences possible at Weddings, Corporate Events, Birthday Parties, Product Launches, Fashion Shows and more…

We perform everything from classic jazz (Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee) to Hipster Classics (Tom Waits, Bjork, David Bowie) and Pop Favorites (Destiny’s Child, Britney Spears, Def Leppard); all with an authentic jazz twist. With a classic nod to the past, we remain timeless and elegant but can really get down with our refreshing covers of modern-​day pop!

History

Established in 2011.

Bellatonic started with a frustrated jazz singer. After singing «Let’s Hear it For the Boy» with a pre-​recorded backing track in the same tired Deneice Williams style for the 1,000^th time in a Top 40 Wedding Pop Cover Band, she thought to herself «there must be a better way to enjoy pop music… for the audience and for me!»

And so, Bellatonic was born. A Cover Band that exalted the artistry of its musicians, and encouraged refreshing takes on pop standards. This idea combined with a refined jazz elegance became a hit. We started as a trio (Upright Bass, Voice, and Drums) but eventually transformed into a full 5-​Piece band (adding Saxophone and Guitar) to fill out our sound and make us even more party-​worthy.

Since then, we have performed for GQ, Chanel, Swiss Army, Tech Nights, Weddings, and all kinds of parties and hotels. Since the awesome music part is already taken care of, we can focus on our clients and what they want. We love to co-​create amazing and memorable experiences!

Business Owner

Cara Dineen is a Professional Vocalist, Bandleader and Teacher and has been performing in NYC for over 5 years. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, she has lived and performed as well in Chicago and Boston. She holds a Bachelor’s in Music Degree from Berklee College of Music, where she received a full-​tuition talent based scholarship. Cara performs Jazz, Pop, R&B, Rock, Avant-​Garde and folk music flawlessly. She also writes original music.
