Took my dad here to buy art supplies and was delighted with their knowledgeable staff who were quick to help and knew their stuff! This is the place to go for supplies and their discount card made a big difference in the cost. We will be back!

A good variety of art supplies. Everything from professional material to things for newbies to start playing around with. I always stop by and pick something up even if I dont need anything in particular. It’s inspiring :)

I appreciate customer service quite a lot. I got the best service ever from Matt today buying linocut supplies. Matt went above and beyond answering my questions and understanding my needs.

We stumbled upon this art store after Sunday brunch and was amazed at their large selection. I went around and picked out several art items for my brother’s high school graduation gift, since he is interested in fine arts and graphic design.
The area was very clean and close to Pratt Institute (hence they even sold school apparel by the cash register). I ended up getting my brother a manga instruction book, a sketch pad notebook, fine point pens with different tip sizes/​shapes, colored pencil set and two sarcastic but funny note pads.
When I rung everything up at the cash register, the associate even gave me a discount for spending more than $ 50 (shown on a flyer/​poster) and I was thankful for their kind and appealing service.
This is a great place for any art student or anyone in general who has a fascination in art; they have a wide array of paints, brushes, portfolio bags, easels, every material you can think of for art projects and even feature desks designed for artists.

Loads of stuff, in fact pretty much everything you could need. The staff were really friendly too. Not amazingly cheap, but reasonable. Unless you need something really specialised this is a great «one stop» shop

I work for an established artist as my job, and often need stuff on the fly. We recently relocated the work studio to Clinton Hill and I came in here to get a roll of glassine. I buy stuff in bulk often online when I can, as it’s cheaper and I don’t have to lug it back to the studio myself. But when I do need something last minute like glassine, I expect to be able to buy it from an art supply store in the size I require in 100 yard rolls, especially one near Pratt for fuck sakes. Not a big request, but their staff didn’t really care to help me when I suggested that they carry glassine in the larger lengths and widths instead of 10 yard rolls, which doesn’t help me at all. The guy shrugged and told me to check back in the future instead of adding it to the store inventory of stuff to order. I went back to the studio and ordered several rolls online so that I wouldn’t have to inconvenience them again.

This place is a sort of «if one must» situation.
Its in the nabe and convenient enough location-​wise, but the staff aren’t knowledgable (they don’t event know where things are in their own store) and the whole place has the giant corporate entity assholery about it.
I will only go here if I don’t have the time to go somewhere that doesn’t suck.

This location is a great one! They have a great assortment of supplies if you are looking for painting supplies, drawing/​illustration paper, scrap booking materials, wood carving tools, sculpting tools and supplies, jewelry making, screen printing, all sorts of inks, pens, colored pencils, framing supplies and more! I forget if this location carries spray paints… But they have something for most everyone! Staff is helpful and polite. There are a few well-​known art schools in the area, so they are always well stocked and able to special order items for you!
I recommend getting the discount card. it’s free and you can use it at blick and Utrecht locations, ever since they merged!

Above and beyond customer service – I barely made the closing, they got me in, wrapped my huge pieces of foamcore, carried it to the door for me and ran after me with my umbrella. Super nice and accommodating all around. Thanks!

I found exactly what I needed. I was in there for two hours and they except coupons from colleges. The staff was helpful, I’ve sure learned some new stuff. Compared to other art supply stores that I’ve been to they are one of the cheapest.

The combination of location, selection, and price is what won me over. Of course there are much less expensive options in and around this city, but Utrecht is a 5 minute walk away, I figure I’m paying the extra dollar or two for convenience. And every few months, I use the sale coupons they send people who are on the mailing list/​hold the discount card. The staff is very courteous, and although they aren’t all seasoned experts, it’s likely because some of them are students-​and there’s nothing wrong with that! They’re learning. They’ve always done their best in answering my questions, or referred me to another person on staff that had more specialized knowledge if necessary, and they never try to oversell. Much better experiences here than at the Pratt Store.

Pretty awesome place. I’m so used to going to Pearl Paint on Canal Street that I had. No idea that there was someplace closer and just as cool to buy art supplies. If you live in Bk and re nearby it’s definitely worth the trek. Cool. Salespeople and great selection.

I spent $ 6.29 on two 6“x8″ prestretched canvases, and they couldn’t spend $ 4.99 a month on a Spotify subscription? Come on! Aside from that, a perfectly adequate store. A few too many Pratt sweatshirts, but that’s about it. Pony up for ad-​free ambiance though, seriously.

This place is huge! Filled with mislabeled sections, that will induce heart shattering sticker shock at the counter. There are tons of options here! But hopefully you know what you are looking for, because the staff wasn’t really helpful. Polite and quick at the checkout, but nobody is going to stop and help you if your looking confused. Do some research and come prepared.
This location is more modern and filled with variety than any of the locations in the city. Def worth a visit. Whatever they don’t have you can also find at the Pratt Art store down the block. Prices are pretty low between the two stores, but if you have the Utrecht card it helps a little.
Bonus for being open on Sunday, when the Pratt store is not.

Went to Utrecht to pick up some acrylic paint and finishing spray. Loved how large, clean and industrial the feeling of the store was. I didn’t know where the hell anything was, so after a little searching I tracked down an employee who was happy to help me. The inventory is good, and they had a bunch of coupons and deals going, as it was the beginning of the school year. Couldn’t have asked for anything more, except perhaps for more employees inquiring right when you walk in whether you need help.

A well sized Utrecht Art Supplies is one of the latest add-​ons on Myrtle. An obvious convenience to the students of Pratt Institute, locals and the artsy-​fartsy me.
To a commoner’s eyes (mine) they seem very well stocked and organized. Prices are reasonable and all is dandy. Personally I’m just surprised that they close at 7pm and open pretty early at 8:30am on weekdays. Someone is forgetting about the all creative night owls!
