Brian Ketover, DDS

Dr. Ketover is great. I’ve been to fancy-​pants dentists in the city and trust Dr. K more. The office could definitely use some brightening up and a fresh coat of paint, but remodeling costs money and they take Medicaid so I doubt they’re getting rich. I think he just really cares about providing good care to people who don’t have fancy insurance.

Dr. Ketover is an amazing dentist, with regards to both his personality and the work that he does. For the longest time, I had major dental anxiety that resulted in constantly postponing or canceling appointments. I ended up with issues that couldn’t be ignored, so I went to Dr. Ketover. Now, nearly a decade later, I am still a loyal patient with a healthy smile.
Others have commented about the aesthetics of the office. Yes, the appearance is dated. Yes, I noticed this the first time I went there and, yes, it did throw me off a bit. But it is clean and that’s what matters (to me, at least). If you are someone who requires a posh setting, this isn’t the place for you. But, in my opinion, the quality of the work means worlds more than resting my butt on an expensive modern chair.
I felt immediately at ease during my first appointment. Dr. Ketover took a look and explained the issues as well as the necessary treatment. He did so in a way that made me feel comfortable and less overwhelmed. These feelings lasted while he performed the procedures; at one point, I even watched him do my root canal through a hand mirror! This is a huge leap from the person who used to have panic attacks from just sitting in the waiting room or even entering a dentist’s office. His personality is top notch and you can tell that he truly cares for his patients. To him, we are people, not dollar signs. He even remembers little things, like the sports team that you follow (we’ve had a few conversations about the Mets over the years).
If you are looking for a good dentist who does his job well, I highly recommend Dr. Ketover. I will be going to him until he retires, which better not be for at least 20 more years!

I like this dentist. He is very nice, very fair and honest and very good at his craft. He has done some freebies for me too. The office is not too clean and modern. In fact its a bit of a relic from the past but I dont mind because of the good quality.

We love Dr. Ketover! I actually found him by accident when calling for a different dentist to see who the heck would take my insurance. The receptionist, Barbara, was so nice that I booked an appointment. That was a few weeks ago, and I’m glad I did.
My son has always been afraid to go to the dentist, so after I went to see him, I brought my son here, he said he wouldn’t be reluctant anymore because Dr. Ketover was so nice… now THAT’S progress! Dr. Ketover is extremely likable, and explained to my son what he was doing step by step, in a low key matter of fact way. And to the person that gave him 1 star all because of what the inside of the office looked like? Who cares if the office looks like it stepped out of an old «B» 1970’s film… who cares… AND isn’t it the person inside the office that counts? It just made me mad to read that. Dr. Ketover is, just by being himself, a very calming, peaceful presence. We both feel lucky to have found him:)

first, let me start out by saying that Dr. Ketover, himself seems like a lovely man and a decent dentist.
but the office is DISGUSTING. like, disgusting in a way that i-can’t-imagine-it’s-actually-legal way. my husband and i went together (they take DC37 ins.) and he sort of shrugged and said «yep, capital G, GHETTO dentist office.»
if you’re really in a bind, this dentist is super nice, and extremely easy going. didn’t try to sell us anything, or convince either of us that we needed unnecessary work done. so, he’s honest, too.
but if you haven’t had your tetanus shot, maybe don’t go here.

Edit: I had my second appointment, the dentist answered the phone personally and remembered me. 2^nd appointment went great like the first. Forgot to mention that they take UFT insurance.
