Irish? bullshit! I came from Europe to enjoy my time here and I never felt so humiliate in my life, the employee simple throw away my beer just because I felt a little bit sleepy, He should speak with me first and the bad of everything they kick me out of the place me and my girlfriend with violence when I tried to get some explanation, I feel sad because I have really respect for Irish people, and my first experience in America was terrible thank you to this place, stay far from this place you have much better to go.

With an exterior and interior that was incredibly warm and inviting, this was a great place to grab lunch after a long drive from Boston. Our bartender was a total sweetheart and attentive without being intrusive, my boyfriends burger was really good while my soup sandwich combo was filling and totally hit the spot on a cold day. We were very happy we came upon this place and would definitely be regulars if we lived in the area!

My boyfriend and I love this place. We moved nearby recently, so we were looking for new neighborhood spots. Happy hour is great since you get half off all appetizers and some of the beers(although mostly not the good beers… but that’s to be expected). I love, love, love their House Burger, which comes with bacon relish and some other tasty toppings, and I love their steak sandwich as well. Actually, everything I’ve tried here has been super delicious. I also love the laid back vibe and the weird mix of music — lots of old 90s stuff! Definitely one of our new favorite places.

Ordered a burger medium rare and I unfortunately it came out well done. It took about 20 minutes to get another one and it was still overlooked. At least the server offered us a free drink. The burger and fries were actually quite tasty. Hopefully that situation was just a fluke. I wanted to like this place.

My friends live close by and when we are too lazy to leave the apartment we order wings and nachos from Brooklyn Public House. I feel compelled to write this because I’m always amazed how crunchy and warm the nachos stay. They’re the best. Order them!

Great neighborhood bar in Ft. Greene. A fair amount of seating with a fun Irish pub feel. The food is quite good, especially for bar food. I tried the lobster macaroni and the pulled pork sandwich, which were both very hearty and comforting. They actually put a fair amount of lobster in the macaroni which was very delicious. The price is a bit on the higher end for bar food, expect about $ 15-$ 20 per entrée at dinner. But otherwise, a nice place to hang out, have dinner, grab a beer, and watch a game on TV.

Since they’ve re-opened I’ve eaten here a few times. All I manage to order is the chili and the House Burger. They are both so rich and tasty. The turkey chili is topped with cheese and piping hot. The house burger has bacon mayo and BACONRELISH along with some other things like tomato relish, cheese, and what-not. Awesome only begins to describe how consistently good it is! Don’t ever leave me again BPH!

Cool neighborhood bar. They have some good beers, but not a crazy selection. Good for a low key mid-day drink. Didn’t try the food. Funny bartender too.

Perfect happy hour spot. Be warned that deals are only on beer, though. Not too loud, 90’s-00’s rock, plenty of room whether you want a table or spot at the bar. Bartenders were all pleasant and seemed to be experimenting on each other with new cocktail recipes. No idea what it’s like during peak weekend times but would give it a shot!

The food was great. We went there on a Sunday morning for brunch with 4 people total. We sat outside and the server was very helpful and friendly, suggesting we sit at another table to be more comfortable with our dog and to ensure we’re out of the rain should it start. He gave us a few brunch suggestions that I wasn’t sure about but all doubts were gone when the food arrived. I got steak and eggs, which I normally would not order for fear that a breakfast steak would be wimpy but it was delicious and juicy and much bigger than I was expecting. Next time, I will get the breakfast burger. It was so good. I had one bite which will ensure I will return. The corn beef hash was also yummy. The coffee was weak but it was aplenty. All in all, a very good experience.

Nachos were great, but I wouldn’t recommend the place. Service was ok at first but then… Not so much. Specially the woman serving the bar. She was soooooo rude. Horrible person! And I’m almost sure they cloned my credit card there :( Then another girl made us pay for the people that were sitting in the table before us, because we knew them and she forgot to charge a drink and some food(we saw when they were paying, they didn’t just leave). So be careful when attending with a large party. Don’t give your credit card because I’m sure you’ll end up with extra charges.

My go-to neighborhood pub. I was really sad to see it had shut down for a while, but now its back and seemingly better than ever. I’ve eaten dinner here twice; have had the veggie burger and beef burger. Both were delicious. The onion rings are bomb! Also got the nachos once for happy hour and was served a ginormous portion of chips with tons of yummy toppings. Nice beer selection, friendly staff. If you’re looking for a great pub in Clinton Hill, skip overpriced Putnam’s and try Brooklyn Public House!

There are two other Public House’s I know of in New York City. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy to the other two, for how awful they are. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy to this place either. That’s only due to the fact, I don’t like him and don’t want to see him while I am here. Take that Wilson from Home Improvement! I had gone to Public House many times in the past, but only went again recently. The place hasn’t changed a bit, which is a wonderful thing.(Well I hope the bathroom urinals have changed) They have a really large selection of beers on tap, as well as bottled brews. You have all your favorite beer options and types. And what goes best with some good beer? Besides free money, good food. Brooklyn Public House has some of the best pub food around. Best of all the kitchen is open super late. 2 am most nights, though the late menu is a lot smaller. My only quarrel with the food is the prices. It’s nothing that will break the bank. Not at all. I just find it’s a bit more expensive than other pubs, offering the same food. As I mentioned though, it is some of the best pub food around. So I guess that’s what you’re paying for. I just feel if I’m gonna drop that much, I’d rather do my whole drinking and dinning experience at a restaurant than. The happy hour deals don’t impress me, sans their shaved catfish for $ 5. I feel other establishments have better offers going on in the neighborhood. I find this is a great place to meet up with some people on late in Fort Greene, when you’re around DeKalb. Maybe want to catch a game on the television. Enjoy some great drinks, and maybe grab a late night snack.

I’ve been here before with friends, and recently stopped by for a late brunch on Saturday. We were seated at a table in the back among framed antique portraits. Our server was really personable, attentive, and friendly. I ordered an omelet with bacon, cheddar, and avocado. I was a little disappointed at first because avocado is listed as one of the ingredients you can add to your build-your-own omelet, but then it came separate and on the side of the plate. It ended up being not an issue, as I used half of the generous portion to make my own avocado toast(with provided toast) and the other half went with my omelet. The omelet itself was really great. The bacon was crispy and the omelet wasn’t overcooked or messy at all. Everyone else enjoyed their meals. My friend who got the Veggie Burger said she loved it.

Brooklyn Public House is a perfect neighborhood bar. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, there is plenty of bar seating, and a full room of tables in the back for larger parties. This is a good spot for an after-work drink or quick dinner. Try the(enormous) burger, it’s delicious. Be wary of the tomato relish on the house burger though, it makes the bun a bit soggy. Brownie points for having La Chouffe on tap — amen to that!

Okay, first things first: THANKGODTHISPLACEISBACK! LAYOUT/VIBE: The physical space has been cleaned up — fresh paint, newly sanded tables and floors, improved lighting, etc. That said, the charm and ambiance was left intact, and The BPH is very much the same pub(in spirit) that it was when I first fell in love with it years ago. STAFF: There is a new Irish waiter who is, plainly put, AWESOME. I didn’t catch his name, but even though the place was fairly busy when my friends and I decided to drop in, he made a point of stopping by our booth several times throughout the evening to refresh our drinks and make sure we were enjoying ourselves. The BPH staff has always been a notch-above-the-rest, and I am truly glad to see that the caliber of friendliness and attentiveness that I was accustomed to didn’t fall by the wayside in the change over. MENU: Since re-opening, they’ve trimmed the menu down to what I imagine were their top-20 items. I’m a little sad about this, because the P.E.I. Muscles are no longer available. From a business standpoint, I totally understand what the new management is doing — they«cut the fat» and are building their business upon a foundation of main successes. I opted for the Fish and Chips, and having recently returned from England, I can confidently tell you all that they NAILED this dish. I’ve not had mushy peas this«authentic» since Derbyshire! (ATTENTIONMANAGEMENT: My birthday is September 23rd, so please feel free to re-add P.E.I. Muscles on that night. I assure you, you’ll sell them!) BEER: If there is one recommendation I have, it is that you treat yourself to a glass of BROOKLYNBLAST. It’s served in one of those stemmed glasses(usually with CHIMAY written on the side), and is refreshing no matter the season.

Wanted to check this place out after reading that they reopened in a local fort Greene news feed. They have kept all the old charm from before like the posters, lights and things. They have a good selection of beers on tap and offer some of the staple bar foods. We tried the steak nachos(really good), Honey hot wings(really good), and fish and chips(pretty good). I have to say I was surprised the bar foods were better than the average bar food. Kinda wanted to try the burger(menu states it has short rib meat). Service was extremely good, even while the place started to fill up. The waiters kept checking in to see if we needed a beer and cleared our table quickly. Our waiters name was Pierce, Irish transplant, nice fellow. Even chatted with one of the owners Ivan, who let us know they were soon expanding the menu. Great place if you’re in the neighborhood for a beer or quick bite! Definitely will be back, love me some bangers and mash!
