History
Established in 1927.
The Cyclone Rollercoaster opened in 1927 on the site of America’s first roller-coaster (the Switchback Railway). The Cyclone is a New York City Landmark (1988) and a National Historic Landmark (1991) that serves to link Coney Island’s past with its present and future, as it continues to be Coney Island’s most popular and prized attraction.
