D’nettos II

The best chicken salad on the face of the earth. The rest of the place is nice, the butchers friendly and professional, the hot food looks great, BUT the five stars is for the chicken salad, that is so fresh it practically clucks and doesn’t have that weird vinegar-​taste that to me denotes poor preparation or lack of freshness. It’s perfect. Everything else looks good too, but that’s what I go here for.

The store is actually called Steve’s now, but either way it’s an amazing salumeria/​meat shop that has everything you could possibly ask for.
The one thing i would advise is to be specific when purchasing chicken/​meat that needs to be cut. If you want it thin be specific or you may not get it to your liking, sometimes they don’t ask you how you want it.
Steve’s is comparable to Romeo Brothers on 15^th ave and even Bova’s on 13^th with their variety, i love the pinwheels here and because of it’s location on Bath avenue i sometimes come here for a sandwich which they make great.
Steve’s is good spot for all your Italian products!

Being the first to review this place, I’m giving it 5 STARS! Why? For about $ 6.00 for a cold cut sandwich, you can’t go wrong. They give you a pretty decent amount of meat. Okay, not decent, but they give you a lot of meat, and help you add whatever you want on it. I have not been there recently, but I heard the woman that works there is pretty stingy on the meat, so DO NOT go to her.
Everyone there is friendly. And you don’t have to worry about freshness, because this place lives by the word: FRESH. I can’t express that any more than I have.
Just yesterday, my friend ordered a long sub for the superbowl (GOOD GAME GIANTS, I just had to) and inside, there were roast beef sandwiches and pepper turkey sandwiches). For the sides (which they gave you for free) are egg salad and the macaroni salad. I heard it was pretty good but I did not taste it for I am not a big mayonnaise fan. However, the bread was too hard for me and had sesame seeds which I am allergic to, but the sandwiches here are great. I will have to give the hot foods a try next time.
