these guys are real nice they make a slice that has onions and no tomato sauce I don’t know the name of it I go there every couple of years and forget the name of the slice but it is amazing

I hear this spot has been around for a while.
Its a cute lil spot, had a few tables in the back. My fave thing about this spot is that they had so many different slices with fresh mozzarella at the counter. Pizza looked fresh. Counter dudes were making pizza when we got there, so I’m assuming there pies go fast. I got an eggplant slice with fresh mozzarella and pepperoni bites. Both were really good. Sauce is good, and fresh mozz was also really good.
Service was fast, counter dudes are friendly. Price is okay, think it was like 4 bucks for a slice… I’m over it with Williamsburg prices!

The Driggs «Grandma Slice» might be one of the single greatest food items in human creation.
It’s a small place, some seating in the back, and it’s been here since «before Williamsburg was cool.» The rest of the pizza is good enough, but the reason to come back is the Grandma Slice.

Really enjoyed my slice here. It had a slice with thin pieces of eggplant with chunky tomatoes and fresh mozzarella cheese. I was pleasantly surprised with the flavor. Price was $ 4, high for the area… But delicious all the same.

Average Italian food. Nothing special and very small.

When going to Driggs Pizza, you have to get the «Grandpa». It has a little hint of spice and is FREAKIN AWESOME! You will not be disappointed in this if you like a little spice in your life.

Simply gross pizza. Go somewhere else.

The pizza was on point, above average, especially for the area. It was $ 2.50 for a normal slice, which isn’t bad at all for the great service.
They also have seating in the back. I really like the décor of this place, you can tell they really put the extra effort in.

Pizza was very good. Crust was delicious and not too dark. Had a white slice that had a generous amount of ricotta on it. Also had an interesting slice that looked like a margarita on top with the fresh mozzarella but had a layer of eggplant underneath. Also had some pesto oil drizzled on it.
Right near the L and also B62 bus stations.

If Driggs Pizza were in the military, its name would be SERGEANT DOPE.
If you disagree, you ordered wrong. You got the plain slice. It’s OK, we all make mistakes.
Officially a member of the Chris K-​approved Williamsburg/​Greenpoint pizza tour (aka the «holy trinity»): whatever looks good at Driggs (likely the grandma, grandpa, the white, or the four seasons); the buffalo chicken slice at Russ; and the funghi misti at Fornino.

Nothing fancy here but I think their pizza selections are good!

Stopped by here for a quick one before grabbing drinks in willy B. I ordered a plain cheese slice, and they had a pie ready right away.
Not entirely impressed by the slice, but it did the trick. $ 2.50 and I’m on my way. They also had seating in the back, if you wanted to sit down.

There are a few different types of pizza eaters in Williamsburg:
1. those who like alot of sauce: They go to Anna Maria.
2. those who like tons of crap piled on their pizza (no disrespect): Anna Maria again.
3. those who like fancy traditional italian style pizza with herbs grown on site: They go to Fornino, Forcella etc.
4. those who like BROOKLYN style pizza by the slice, regular and grandma: They go to Sal’s, Vinnie’s, Roebling Pizza, and Pizza on Drigg’s
I like all of the above. I really do. I even like Nonna. But for me… my goto slice joint is Pizza on Driggs.
I think for pizza fans, it just comes down to taste. Some people will find this place to be nothing special, some will prefer Vinnie’s or Sal’s. I can’t fault them for that, I like those places too. But for some reason, this is the place I prefer.

I don’t really like square cheese pizzas. For some reason it tastes way better when it’s in regular pizza form. I came in here for a quick bite to eat and ordered two square cheese slice because I didn’t see a regular cheese pizza slice. The man behind the counter heated it up for me and I devoured the slices even though I didn’t really enjoy it. Isn’t it weird how we’re way more willing to settle with mediocre food when we’re hungry?
I can’t really describe what was wrong with the pizza. Maybe because it had been sitting out, but it didn’t taste fresh and everything seemed kinda mushy.
I have had pizza delivered from here though, and I enjoyed it that time. I guess this place is a hit or miss.

Oily but (thus?) good, and the margherita slices are to die for when you’re strolling through the W’burg ‘hood. The staff is alternately flirtatious, entertaining, and bristly. They DO have a (clean) bathroom — just ask, and they’ll let you walk through the kitchen to get to it.

You people are officially crazy. Everyone acts like I’m the crazy one when I tell them that Driggs pizza is the bottom of the barrel. «Get the Grandma slice,» they say. «You’ll change your mind!»
Wanting to like this place, because I live a minute walk away, I decided to give them another chance. I went in the daytime to make sure that they wouldn’t be forcing rushed late night pizza down my throat. I ordered 2 «Grandma» slices, ya know, the ones that you all rave about? The base was SO flimsy that it flopped over when I picked it up & the slice pointed straight toward the ground– the overwhelming amount of grease sending the cheese straight toward the floor. I had to fold it in half to get it in my mouth & it flipped over with ease. As floppy as a piece of bologna & just like bologna– DISGUSTING!

It took all of my might not to go back in there screaming & demanding my money back. $ 3.00 per slice! And I was starved. So I ate all $ 6.00 worth of the bland, flavorless, mushy pizza & was still left starving. Nothing makes me angrier than spending money on BAD food that people rave about! I didn’t go back in, because they wouldn’t care. There are enough suckers writing 4 & 5 star reviews here to keep them pushing on.
I love Unilocal & part of that reason is because one day businesses MIGHT have to care. Until then, NEVER DRIGGS AGAIN. They can go F*** themselves.

3 stars = for the pizza place.
4 stars = for the tiny restaurant in the back.
Tucked away in the back, usually ignored by anyone waiting for the bus or not from the neighborhood are a few tables and a little exposed brick wall. It’s not elaborate but you can choose from their huge array of Italian dishes. Lots of pasta and seafood choices around 10 dollars.
As for the pizza, its alright. Some slices seem a bit too expensive, others are just right. The staff is actually very polite and attentive so respect for that. Depending on what you get it can be very satisfying or a bit underwhelming. Unlike Anna Maria’s slices they aren’t just piles of toppings on a flopper and it does taste like they use better ingredients.

I grab a slice of pizza here all the time! The guys behind the counter are extremely polite and friendly. The pizza is pretty good and I like their peppers and sausage roll too.
The garlic knots are amazinggggggg. It’s slightly marinated in this garlic sauce, but it’s surprisingly NOT soggy! I don’t know how they do it, but i love them.
Avoid this place like the plague between 2pm-3:30pm. It’s usually crawling with HS students because that’s when they get out of school. They have a lunch special for all students. My students like this place because it’s so close to the L train!

Garlic knots = utter win. Cheap, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and just lightly garlicky. I couldn’t tell whether the flavoring was garlic cooked into the dough, or garlic powder in the dough… or what. It didn’t appear to be seasoning on the knot itself, it was definitely infused into the substance of each starchy bite. Mmm.
My grandma slice was reasonably priced at $ 3.00, reheated briefly in the pizza oven, and handed over to me by the most genial, polite fellow. Like many a good pizza, this slice was covered lightly with cheese, pesto, and smashed/​stewed (?) tomatoes. The few minutes back in the pizza oven undoubtedly re-​crisped the bottom, rendering a delightful crunch with each bite.
For the price ($ 3) and the time (5 minutes) invested, this was a worthy afternoon snack in between a huge breakfast of noodle soup and dumplings, and a lardtastic dinner at Otto. The prime pop-​in-​pop-​out location right across from the L train doesn’t hurt, either. Ah, BK by-​the-​slice, you continue to satisfy. Right on.
