Bob was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. After earning his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 1975, he was admitted to the Brooklyn Bar Association in 1976.

His practice has been granted an «AV» rating, the highest possible accolade from Martindale-Hubbell’s Peer Review Ratings. His practice has also been added to the Bar Register of Preeminent Law Firms.

One good rule of thumb when considering hiring an attorney is to consider the quality of his employees. Bob’s staff could not be more pleasant and responsive. As someone else wrote, here, my wife and I felt that Bob and his team had our best interests at heart as they helped us navigate the crazy Park Slope real estate market. We could not be happier with his expertise, work ethic, and integrity.

Even though I needed a different kind of legal service which this firm doesn’t provide, I was given solid referrals by the receptionist and got a personal call from Mr. Dubno to make sure that I was taken care of. Very impressed.

Mr. Dubno was my lawyer when I bought my apartment a number of years ago, and I will use him again when I buy my next.
My anecdote: I was originally going to put down 15% and needed Mortgage Insurance, but before closing, changed to 20% down. At the closing, when the bank wanted me to sign up for PMI, he deftly swooped in and cleared that up for us. I’m glad I had him there.

We hired Bob Dubno through the recommendation of a friend, for the purchase of our 2-​family home in Kensington, and were very pleased. His fee was reasonable, he answered all of our questions, and brought up things we hadn’t thought of. When our «final» walk through was a disaster (the night before the scheduled closing), he was a champ. The closing was rescheduled, and all was well. We plan to use him when we sell our coop ourselves without an agent.

Bob Dubno has not been an ethical or responsible legal professional during my interactions with him. He represented a seller from which I bought a condo. As part of that agreement, we placed $ 15,000 in escrow under his care. The money was to be reimbursed to me if there was an assessment in the building I was buying. There were two assessments and I provided Mr. Dubno with the proper documentation. He stopped responding to my requests and has not reimbursed me with the money from the escrow. I used Bob and his staff for my sale and he provided me with calm diligent and continually sensible guidance. The buyers attorney was extremely difficult, completely unreasonable and held up the closing with ridiculous and untrue reasons which Bob dealt with head on. He made the closing happen, and I would recommend him to any buyer or seller. He know his business and his staff is professional and quick to respond. His fees are very fair.

For my 3rd real estate transacation, I hired Robert «Bob» Dubno to represent me. One of my former neighbors in Park Slope recommended him to me. This was the first time I felt that the lawyer I had hired was working exclusively for my good. He returned emails /​calls in a timely manner and provided incredibly helfpul advice. I would like to add that when I mentioned him to two real estate agents who were showing me other properties, they both said he was «one of the best.» He is the only real estate lawyer I will use for future real estate transactions and the only one I will recommend.
