I’ve noticed from my experience and reading past reviews that this doctor and his staff treat people nicely when they’ve been with them for years. I went in yesterday as a first-timer(since my insurance changed and I can no longer see my old dermatologist), put my name down and was told to sit. I explained that it was my first time there — should I be filling out a form? Asking that was like having woken this woman up from a deep sleep with a shit pie in my hand for her. Figuring she had a bad day, I took it, thanked her politely and filled it out. I then asked if they knew if there would be a wait and how long. The woman barely looked up and in a pained, almost whisper said, «No». I asked if that was a no to a wait if or if she didn’t know how long it would be. She said, «I don’t know». I just put my name down with quite a few ahead of me. I wasn’t trying to be difficult — they had to have some sort of idea. I explained that I lived two blocks away and wanted to know so that I can just go home and come back around the time the doctor would actually see me. They said call to check in 15 minutes. All of the sudden they have a time-frame. I asked all(about 7) of these people would be seen by the doctor in 15 minutes? «Yes.» Ok. I went home and called fifteen minutes later to be told it would be at least another hour. Turns out they do have the ability to estimate — it was not their first day at the job! She said an hour and then changed her mind to 45 minutes. I said to be safe, I’ll call and check in 45 minutes. Ok. I called 45 minutes later and am berated for not having been there. I reminded her that I said I’d call to make sure since it changed form an hour to 45 minutes within seconds. She said, «Do you not hear me? I said be here». Really? Who talks like that? I get there and wait another 45 minutes to actually be seen(I take back their ability to estimate time) and the doctor dismisses what I tell him about the run of Accutane I was just on in the middle of my sentence. I tell him I was put on a 6 month dose. He interrupts — twice — to correct me that it was 5. Not sure how to continue the conversation, I said, I’m not telling you anything past what my doctor told me… He was being rude and dismissive and mind you, I didn’t bring any of that annoyance from his staff in with me. I was pleasant and telling him about my past experience(leading to what I needed to address in that appointment). He told me he wouldn’t be able to put me back on for a year — total opposite of what my original dermatologist told me. I then showed him some black marking that I had on my nail. He said it could be a sort of mold and that they’d need to take a piece and send it to the lab. Silence. «Ok…» Silence. «Are we doing that here?» «Yes.» Silence… «Ok… Are we doing that today?» «Yeah. sure, we can do it today». Glad I asked, otherwise we would have sat there in silence for some time. He proceeds to fumble around in what looked like a junk drawer, pulled out a pair of small scissors(I read this in another review — these must be famous!) and without sterilizing, jammed the length of it under my nail. I screamed, not expecting for him to go in so deep, for him not to warn me that he would be doing that and because it hurt like hell. He kept saying«It’s almost over» and I’m trying to explain he’s not just cutting into nail. Ignored. He kept at it. As soon as he was done I gathered my things, thanked him and walked out. Looking for a new place immediately after posting this.

I trained with Dr. Ghatan over 14 years ago. I’ve seen other dermatologists and physicians send their patients to him when they need a higher level evaluation. After seeing how knowledgable, meticulous, and caring he is with his patients I also began to see him as a patient. He treated me a number of times for various conditions. I was always pleased with his work. He’s an excellent diagnostician and can diagnose skin conditions that no one else can figure out. His work is impeccable. Even today, while I work in a different specialty, my love for dermatology has persisted because of what I learned from Dr. Ghatan.

Dr Ghatan is an excellent doctor I start an hair treat 3 years ago while I was suffering from hair loss and I find his treatment very impressive. I also take my two teen daughters for acne and my daughters we’re impress with his treatment. It’s convenient for me while his office is open on Sundays. He one of the few physicians who takes pride in his work. I do recommend my friends and family to Dr Ghatan.

I have been going to this doctor for approximately 5 years now for different things and even though there is always minimum of 1 hour wait at all times and much longer as the day progresses he does not turn away patients. They will flat out tell you, yes come in but there is a 5 hour wait, so if you really must see him and its urgent you will be seen if you do decide to come in and wait it out. Try to make your appointment as early as possible and arrive 30 min before, this way you will be guaranteed to be in and out as quickly as possible. This doctor cured my kids numerous times, he uses techniques and lotions that are unheard of and unused anymore in the western world. He referred us to a nearby local pharmacy, walking distance to his office and they were made the lotion for us on the spot. His office rooms aren’t squeaky clean and spotless, however it isnt dirty at all. As far as my experience with Dermotologists goes, this one is on the top of my list as I was extremely disappointed with everyone else I have visited.

I have been seeing Dr. Ghatan for well over 10 years. I am always concerned about my skin because of the amount of sun I get. Dr. Ghatan performs annual screenings and if anything looks suspicious– it’s removed. I trust him with my skin car as do members of my family.

DON’T GOTOTHISDOCTOR!!! I am still traumatized from seeing my BF get slashed with a dirty scissor from this horrible practice!!! He looked like he learned to practice medicine from the internet. He seemed like he didn’t even want to touch my BF, then snipped the skin off, without cleaning the surface area, he burned the wound with a liquid that was placed in a Dixie cup… We should have left when a little boy in the next room was screaming his head off… There was rust stains on his equipment, filthy everywhere. All this after waiting 1.5 hour to see this disgrace of a human being. We were also able to look at a patients info because he had his computer screen up as he was walking back and forth, in and out of the rooms as he treated others… looks like he just practices just for the money… Please don’t go to this place if you love yourself…
