My boyfriend and his roommate live around the corner from Errol’s and they stop by all the time. I’ve had the beef patty, jerk chicken platter, coconut cake and homemade lemonade — they’re all awesome. The guy who seems to own or manage the place is so friendly and I’m happy to spend money at such a great local establishment.

Errol’s is my happy place. I try new stuff every time but I love the porridge, soups, patties, whole wheat bread pudding, raisin buns. I wish I had a guide to explain more to me but I’ll get there. Just bought a fruit cake for Xmas and looking forward– love desserts that simultaneously get you drunk. They make their own ginger beer that id like to try. The price is great and the staff are always friendly and helpful. See you soon Errol’s!

This small bakery is jam packed with all sorts of Caribbean goodies, from coco bread to black cake to patties to cupcakes and cakes with brightly colored frostings that make you wonder if you will glow neon afterwards. I only bought veggie patties the day I went, wanting to save my stomach for Peppa’s. The patties, at $ 1.75 for the veggie won, was substantial, with a tasty filling and a flaky but solid crust. I’d go back and try the other flavors on another day. they have ackee and calloloo, which are vegetarian options I don’t often see, along with the standard chicken, beef ones. Staff was efficient and brisk. Try to not debate too long or they will move on to another person who is ready. Errol’s apparently even sells fish and jerk chicken, which I didn’t see at the counters but perhaps was in the kitchen. A one stop shop for breakfast, lunch and dessert.

They have a B sanitary inspection grade, they’ve had it for a long time. I will not be getting anything from this place. For those of you who don’t care about the B, I heard the patties are great lol!

Flaky, crispy goodness. I like crispy patties, and I cannot lie *sing it with me!* What makes a good patty(in my humble opinion): 1) Crispy, flaky pastry — not flaky like a croissant, but denser with a more substance to it. For those who like a more bready/soft pasty, sorry, not my cup of tea. 2) Spicy 3) juicy meat Errol’s blew the crispyness out of the water — fantastic. On 2, I wish it was a bit spicier — it was to bland for me. Probably good to appeal to the masses, but I’d suggest they have they should have different kinds. Overall a good patty.

This place is awesome. Best jerk chicken in the neighborhood, which is saying a LOT(there are a ton of good choices around here). Great homemade ginger beer and beef patties, too. And a very friendly staff. My only complaint is that they run out of plantains too fast. But that’s just because they’re so damn tasty!

Not fancy, but not supposed to be. This bakery makes amazing rolls and tasty lemonade. It’s all inexpensive but delicious. A great place to stop when you’re hungry and want some walking-around food.

I’ve tried a great deal of West Indian restaurants in the Crown Heights/Prospect Lefferts Gardens/Flatbush area and this one has probably been one of the if not the best. Everything looked good on the baked goods front and I’m not even one to typically buy baked goods but I tried the coconut raisin bread. It was absolutely amazing. I also saw a marble pound cake staring at me and had to have it as well. It was phenomenal. And the prices on those baked good are so cheap. $ 1.50– $ 2.50. I even tasted a pineapple tart that my friend ordered which was pretty good as well. As for the hearty meal options, I went with the Ox Tails and it as perfect with fresh rice and peas and a choice of raw or steamed vegetables. I got them streamed and really enjoyed them as well. I had some hesitation at how quickly my meal came up but once I bit into the first bite, my apprehensions quickly subsided. Everything was great and I’ll definite return to try every baked good that they make and probably have some jerk chicken or curry goat. I usually measure the West Indian restaurants based on how well they do one of those two meals. I have a feeling that they’ll be greatness as well.

I should have read and noted the word«Carribean». I was expecting ALL beef in their patties. It tasted like bread pudding patties. I’m used to Christie’s beef patties but I couldn’t find the store. So I Unilocaled to find a Beef Patty store and found good stars on Jamaican Pride, which was the place I was heading for but ended up at Errol’s Carribean Bakery. Don’t ask, my family and I was driving up from Tom’s River to visit my family in Brooklyn… with all the commotion… and that’s how I ended up at Errol’s. I grew up eating Jamaican beef patties for over 40 years. I better know what they taste like. Sweet and pudding texture is not the way I had it. Also, I do like their original bread pudding. Oh well, next time I will try one first then order a bunch.

Very consistent in their food quality. Great spot for chicken and beef patties. That’s all I buy here! Very authentic taste and one of the best patties in Brooklyn.

Simple but great. I would think nothing of this place because it’s like a neighborhood spot, unpresuming and all looks basic but with a very indulgent in how well it looks baked. Yes, the pastries are good. Pretty darn good. I didn’t order it but that dark potato pudding pie slices looked good. I bit into the coconut roll and it was flaky good. It was thick and I felt each layer of crisp dough, soft, lightly sweat and flavorful. The coconut was lightly present but I loved the caramelized bottom. Man, that pastry was tasty. And it was priced right. I order some other pastries I didn’t get to taste yet because they are still in the fridge. Right on leaving I ate the Jamaican beef patty as a little snack or extra from my main meal. I thought that Jamaican beef patty was okay. The dough was soft and very mellow in taste, meaning a bland dough, not so crispy. The inside was just mush beef, not much flavor. Forget the patties, go for the baked goods, those are very good. Inside is an ATM and two stools facing the way, not much of a dining place. Order and go but truly recommended for price and great tasting pastries. Cool staff/dude taking my order. Didn’t mind me asking a few questions. Happy Easter. They have a full baked bun of a loaf for this day.

Friendly service with your surrogate Caribbean grandma dishing up treats from behind the counter. Everything we tried here was tasty. A stand out was the salted cod with onion(caution– there were a few small bones and the edges could be a bit dry/tough.) But for $ 2, this spiced fish was definitely worth it. Also worth a try are the coconut desserts. $ 1.50 for the coconut drop with chunks of coconut & sugar mixed together. Possibly even better was the cookie base topped with shredded coconut. The mixed drinks were good too. Wish this place was closer to my ‘hood! Actually it’s probably a good thing I’m not plundering the kitchen on a regular basis. Lovely service at this local shop.

A few weeks ago I was in the neighborhood looking at apartments. After seeing a place I really liked, I asked the real estate agent where I could get something to eat. After he rattle off a few generic options I stopped him and said I wanted jerk chicken. Yes, jerk mother fucking chicken. I love jerk chicken, I never get to have it, and I knew there were a lot of options in the neighborhood. Enter Errol’s. It was only 5 blocks away and is situated right on a corner. It’s a bakery but it makes a variety of West Indian food. After talking politics a bit with the guy behind the counter and grabbing a small jerk chicken platter for like $ 6, I headed out and ate everything on the subway ride home. Don’t hate. The jerk chicken was pretty damn addictive. First off the sauce was on the side which made eating neater and also controlled the spice level. It was a bit heavy on the vinegar but also flavorful and very hot. The chicken quality was decent and I got plenty of skin which is *always* a good thing. They chopped up the bird, breaking the bones which I’m not crazy about, but most take out places do that. The rice, plantains, and veggies were all great. This wasn’t fancy eating, but it was a great homestyle meal that was well worth the price and was needed at the time. If I end up nearby I’ll be a regular. Sure I’d check out the other places nearby, but this seems reliable given the regulars I saw come in. Besides, who doesn’t like talking politics pre-meal? It wets the appetitite!

The food is good here. There are several places along Flatbush you can find Caribbean food but few places you’ll find it at 1am.

Very good West Indian food, a step up from the likes of golden krust. I often eat lunch here, the Beef & Cheese pattie is excellent, soups are good and they have a selection of homemade juices and punches.

The Good: I LOVE this place!!! My favorite foods here are the jerk and curry chicken, fried escovitch fish, oxtail, chicken stew, rice and peas, steamed veggies and yellow plaintain. I also believe that they make the best currant roll in NYC. It is greasy but sooooo good! The Bad: The food is a bit on the salty side. The order line can be long and when they are understaffed, the wait time for your food can take a while.(I personally don’t mind the wait as long as they get my order right and the food is delicious!) The Ugly: None that I have seen. Sidenote: The staff are really friendly and do their best to accommodate you however they can. :)

I am pretty sure this was the place I would frequent when I worked around the area. my bf and I must have gained serious poundage from their yummies, despite the 20 min walk to the q train station. TRY everything, but do it once a week, not everyday. I shall come back soon!

I can count on Errol’s for some good west Indian food. I usually order the oxtail or escovitch fish dinners that come with rice and peas, veg(cabbage for me) and plantains. Everything is tasty. And I always have to wash it down with some sea moss of sorrel! Of course! Staff is always friendly and welcoming. Keep it up!

I go to this place all the time for their patties. You know how some patties just seem like the filling is more of a thin, inner spread than an actual filling? Not at Errol’s. When you bite into one of these patties, you don’t see a dark abyss when you look inside — you see MEAT. You get your money’s worth, and they are so so so tasty. I can’t eat most types of meat, so I always get the fish patties. The only reason I’m not giving this place 5 stars is cos they run out of the fish patties so often(that’s how delicious they are), which leaves me feeling like there’s a hole in my soul cos I crave them terrifically on certain days. I always come back, though! You can call them and place your order ahead of time, and there’s an ATM on the premises, too, which is helpful.
