I’ve been going to Jennie for a few years on and off, and recently for a more pressing issue. For a few months now I’ve had this buzzing, warm, pins and needles sensation in my right thigh down to just above my knee. Not painful, but incredibly uncomfortable. I couldn’t lie on my back, on my front, or recline in a seat without having to prop up my legs really, really high up because within seconds the buzzing would emerge. I figured pinched nerve, so I went to a neurologist who ordered MRIs, but between awaiting insurance authorization and the follow-up visit, I couldn’t bare it any longer and decided to commit my tax refund to Jennie. Best decision ever. I got to Jennie’s and explained what was going, what the neurologist thought, etc. She listened, then did her thing. After a brief bit of prodding and poking, she thought my issue stemmed from weak gluteus muscles. I was like, «ok, let’s go with that, let’s do it.» Lying on her massage table was no easy feat, because she had to work my body with me lying on my left side only with cushions between my legs. She had no issues with that at all, of course. Fast-forward to my 4th session, when we decided to test whether I could now lie on my stomach. Within seconds the buzzing started, but I told her let’s try and work through it. I don’t know how or what or why, but miraculously, the buzzing stopped. I was ecstatic! I scheduled my 5th session 3 weeks out, during which time I was curious to see if the sensation would resurface. I am happy to report that the buzzing diminished by like 95%. I can now sleep on my back and front, and recline without discomfort. Life is good again, thanks to Jennie and her healing hands.

Jennie has this sort of intuitive understanding of the human body that is extremely hard to find in a specialist. I worked with her for a period of months doing a mix of massage therapy, physical therapy, pilates, joint rehab, strength training etc. She sees the body as a holistic(as in, lots of parts working together) organism and as such tends to do a really good job finding the root cause of any given pain or issue. Her rates are reasonable and the work she does is excellent. I truly can’t recommend her enough.

Two years ago, I came to Jennie with both shoulder and hip pain. Using a combination of therapeutic massage and strength training, she resolved both issues. I continued with training(and the occasional massage) twice a week to get in better shape. Jennie customizes workouts, makes them as enjoyable as possible(for those of us who hate exercise) and has an amazing knowledge of anatomy. I feel so lucky to have found her!

Wonderful! Jennie is very talented and intuitive. She takes care of my sister and Mom and they have benefited greatly from her therapies. I only wish that I lived in New York so that I could see her more than once a year.

Jennie has changed my life! I have been seeing her for over three years both for personal training and therapeutic massages. When I first started seeing Jennie I was having neck, shoulder, elbow, back and knee problems. I’m quite active so my aches and pains were seriously impacting my quality of life. Jennie has the unique ability to quickly and effectively pinpoint the source of a person’s physical issues. She doesn’t just treat symptoms. She gets down to the root and helps you find the cause so you can make the necessary life changes to improve your physical health. Her goal is to help you fix your problems, not have you become dependent on seeing her for relief. Now all my issues are either resolved or under control, thanks to Jennie’s combination of weight training, yoga, Pilates and a targeted exercise regimen that she created to address my various problems. That coupled with her focused therapeutic massages was the perfect combination of tension relief and physical modifications that my body needed to heal. I feel like a different person. She also inspired me to lose the extra pounds that I was carrying around so now I’m at my desired weight. What’s great about Jennie is that she is extremely versatile. Now that we no longer have to focus on my injuries, we can work on strength training, flexibility and other fitness goals. She’s far and away the best personal trainer I’ve ever worked with. She’s also a tremendous therapeutic masseuse. I found Jennie through my daughter(who Jennie got in the best shape of her life!). My daughter gave me a few massages as a gift. I was appreciative but never planned to see Jennie regularly given that she is an hour’s drive from my home. I was wrong. Within the first few sessions I was hooked. I’ve been seeing her weekly for both training and a massage for over three years! I plan to continue seeing her forever!

I’ve been going to Jennie for years, and was just here on this page to send her info to yet another friend. I’ve probably sent a dozen people her way because she is so good. Jennie has helped me with upper back pain, lower back pain, leg problems, etc etc. I don’t know how people go on without treating this kind of stuff. Jennie knowledge of anatomy is amazing, and she knows the limits of her treatment – she sent both me and another friend to an orthopedic surgeon when it was necessary. I highly recommend her!

I am a runner and a brand-new client of Jennie KixMiller for therapeutic massage(she’s also a personal trainer and has a yoga/pilates studio). Although Jennie came highly recommended by 2 very athletic Brooklyn frends(who credit her personal training and therapeutic massages with allowing them to maintain ambitious fitness regimens), I never used her services before because I live in Manhattan and Hands On Health’s studio is in Park Slope, Brooklyn. That is, until today. I had a «runner’s emergency», namely a horribly painful piriformis muscle in my tush that caused radiating pain in my legs which made it almost impossible to walk… much less to run! In desperation, I decided that I would finally make the trek to Brooklyn to seek relief from Jennie — so I phoned her, and although I was a new customer, she squeezed me in(pardon the pun) on a last-minute basis to her very busy schedule, because she knew I was acutely suffering. After an hour at Hands on Health(an unassuming but serene setting, located 2 blocks from the 15th Street F subway in Park Slope) and some amazingly expert therapeutic massage, I was able to stand upright again. Unlike a number of massage practitioners at the local Chinese«Qi Gong Tui Na» places I’ve tried for prior sports injuries, Jennie KixMiller really knows exactly what she is doing. Aside from giving me a great massage, she also showed me some preventive and remedial stretches and exercises for the acute problem I was having, and provided other helpful fitness guidance. My particular issue is severe and will require a few more massage treatments, but based upon my pain-relieving experience today, I am really looking forward to continuing to work with Jennie until the last kink is out of my butt and my legs! I don’t even mind the F train ride :)).
